Amazon's Worldwide Stores organization is seeking a Senior Division Merchandise Manager (DMM) to join our talented team reshaping the retail industry through its commitment to meeting evolving customer needs. You possess strong analytical acumen, superb business judgment, and a propensity to dive deep to solve complex problems. You must understand competitive and industry landscapes, rooted in commercial experience, and have a proven ability to create great customer experiences. The ability to think creatively to solve complex problems is critical to success. You will feel energized when faced with ambiguity and able to execute at both a tactical and strategic level with a strong attention to detail.
The ideal candidate will also have demonstrated how they can hire, inspire, and develop a team of leaders and managers to reach their potential. You will bring a proven track record of building and developing people/organizations, making data-driven decisions, identifying and adding process improvements, fostering strong partnerships, advocating on behalf of our customers, and being able to influence without authority with partner teams. This role requires a high degree of written and verbal communication with senior Amazon leadership as well as internal and external partners at all organizational levels
Key job responsibilities
* Setting goals and strategic direction for the business, ensuring alignment with broader business goals and vision
* Managing a full P&L, including planning, forecasting and driving growth for the category, possessing a complete understanding of internal and external variables that impact the business
* Generating and implementing big ideas to drive business improvements, innovation, and scale within the category and in partnership across the Retail business
* Leading cross functional collaboration on necessary systems and processes to support business needs, including retail systems, site merchandising and in-stock
* Driving long term strategic relationships with senior Amazon and external vendor executive teams
* Hiring, developing and leading a team of Category and Merchandising Managers
Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years of relevant senior level experience in retail with P&L responsibility and a proven history of delivering results
- 10+ years successful experience hiring, developing and managing a team
- 10+ years of category or merchandising leadership experience in retail
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven history of unconstrained invention centered around customer needs
- Demonstrated ability to identify and solve ambiguous problems
- Superior analytical and quantitative skills, comfortable with complex financial data
- Extremely strong written and verbal communication skills at all organizational levels
- High attention to detail and a proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously with tight deadlines
- Extreme attention to detail and willingness to roll up your sleeves

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $142,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $236,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
