Mortenson is currently seeking a Tax Accountant that will be responsible for preparing, coordinating, and ensuring accurate and timely filing of indirect tax returns for Mortenson and its entities.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and file indirect tax returns monthly
- Research indirect tax requirements for new activities and entities
- Determine personal property tax requirements, gather data, and file applicable renditions in various tax jurisdictions
- Respond to jobsite inquiries and assist with exemption certificate management
- Maintain tax calendar, matrices, tax rates, and general ledger account reconciliations
- Register new jurisdictions
- Review Vertex calculations and maintain systems
- Assist in developing and improving indirect tax procedures
- Assist with sales, use, and excise tax audits
- Resolve sales, use, and property tax notices from state and local tax authorities
- Bachelors degree in Accounting preferred OR equivalent combination of education and professional experience
- Minimum three to five years related experience in business tax compliance
- Previous experience in multi-state tax compliance
- Previous experience in construction and real estate industries preferred
- Previous experience with Vertex O Series and Oracle preferred
- Superior organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Positive, professional attitude and excellent customer service skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

Senior Project Manager I
SUMMARY
Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager I to provide overall leadership direction to one large project or multiple projects to include the management of project quality, timeliness, safety, as well as mentoring the project team. You will develop and improve customer relationships by providing excellent service. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary as you will be interacting with staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment. RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise overall financial health of projects
Develop and maintain project financial and equipment projections
Allocate project estimates into the financial system, determine cost codes, approve invoices
Provide financials and billings to Accounting, create monthly owner billings
Handle subcontracts and suppliers, manage budget and selections
Lead Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, provide job assignments and training
Function as main point of contact with owner and on-site representative
Resolve site concerns, handle change orders, and obtain necessary approvals
Maintain schedule and budget, manage quality, risk, safety, and compliance
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experience
Minimum eight years of construction management/project management or related experience
Ability to fulfill responsibilities for multiple, large complex projects
Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback
Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level
Positive professional attitude, and strong customer service skills
Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies
Current drivers license
Ability to travel up to 100%

- Manage production of 3D and 4D models.

- Manage reality capture data and visualizations, and implement 3D technology during construction.
- Participate in research and development of new technologies.
- Lead or participate in internal training sessions.
- Develop and update project BIM models to support scope of work and 3D coordination.
- Represent the team at external and internal BIM/VDC conferences and meetings.
- Manage team members and potentially lead to leadership roles within the group and broader community.
- Provide support beyond the current physical and geographic scope.
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
- Minimum of eight years of progressive construction management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid drivers license.
- Experience managing and leading a dynamic team.
- Professional licensure is preferred.
- High proficiency with advanced software (2D, 3D, 4D), including Autodesk Building Design Systems (Revit, Civil3D, 3Ds Max, Navisworks), Revizto, Synchro, Enscape, ArcGIS, Drone Deploy.
- Experience with rendering and animation is a plus.
- Part 107 drone license is a plus, but essential to acquire early for reality capture support.
