The Contract Negotiation Analyst for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for reviewing redlines of contract terms and conditions in close partnership with legal, sales and direct customer interaction for timely turnaround time (TAT). In Contract Development, our vision is the development and management of error proof contract documents where the analyst provides insight and business recommendations based on deal analysis.
This position is part of the North America Client Services team and will be Remote . In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Prepare highly complex, customized commercial contracts in coordination with field sales which involve the integration of many diverse elements of high cost/ revenue, to ensure compliance to company policies, GPOs terms and pricing guidelines to support profitable sales growth
- Advises sales on handling objections, exploring alternative contract structures, and articulating value propositions to support deal closure. Regularly translates process improvements into business terms, explaining their impact on profitability and operational efficiency to help sales and support teams understand workflows, bottlenecks, and inconsistencies.
- Leads collaboration with stakeholders to identify viable solutions that support deal closures, while fostering strong partnerships across functions and with leadership. Champions process efficiency and drives updates to contract policies and procedures to ensure alignment and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Service, Marketing, and IT on contract matters as relevant while being a sales advocate and trusted partner to internal organizations to understand sales issues
- Participate in complex assignments where independent judgment, action and sense of ownership are necessary
- High School diploma with 6+ years experience or Bachelors degree with 2+ years experience reading, drafting, and redlining commercial contracts
- At least 1 year of experience in a Sales Operations, Customer Service, Contracting, Quoting, or Pricing role
- At least 1 year of experience partnering with Sales and Negotiation (driving business outcomes) in a Diagnostics / Life Sciences industry.
- At least 1 year of experience influencing team members to achieve a common goal and working cross-functionally in an environment to build support across a complex set of stakeholders
- Ability to identify and mitigate potential financial risk in alignment with company strategy
- Diagnostics / Life Sciences industry experience
- Experience working with Integrated Delivery Networks (IDN)
- Ability to self-manage in a complex / time sensitive environment

Compensation information

**Position Summary**
The Contract Negotiation Manager will negotiate and execute high-level review and analysis, manage dispute resolution and settlement negotiations of contracts with single and group Behavioral Health providers within a defined market. You will manage contract performance and support the development and implementation of strategic, traditional contracts and value-based contract relationships.
+ Negotiates, executes, reviews, and analyzes contracts and/or handles dispute resolution and settlement negotiations with solo and group Behavioral Health providers for all lines of business (Medicare, commercial etc.).
+ Manages contract performance in support of network quality, availability, and financial goals and strategies for all lines of business (Medicare, commercial etc.).
+ Recruits Behavioral Health providers as needed to ensure attainment of network expansion and adequacy targets for all lines of business (Medicare, commercial etc.).
+ Collaborates cross-functionally to contribute to provider compensation and pricing development activities and recommendations, submission of contractual information, and the review and analysis of reports as part of negotiation and reimbursement modeling activities.
+ Responsible for identifying and making recommendations to manage cost issues and supporting cost saving initiatives and/or settlement activities.
+ Provides Behavioral Health network development, maintenance, and refinement activities and strategies in support of cross-market network management unit.
+ Assists with the design, development, management, and or implementation of strategic network configurations, including integration activities. May optimize interaction with assigned providers and internal business partners to manage relationships and ensure provider needs are met. Ensures resolution of escalated issues related, but not limited to, claims payment, contract interpretation and parameters, or accuracy of provider contract or demographic information.
**Required Qualifications**
+ Minimum 3+ years related experience, proven and proficient managed care network negotiating skills or in provider relations.
+ Proven working knowledge of competitor strategies, complex contracting options, financial/contracting arrangements, and regulatory requirements.
+ Strong and persuasive communication skills, especially written communications, with external stakeholders
+ Strong critical thinking, problem resolution and interpersonal skills
+ Adept at execution and delivery (planning, delivering, and supporting) skills
+ A ready business acumen and the ability to balance and articulate competing priorities while making decisions
+ Adept at collaboration and teamwork
+ Work from home locations are in Pacific, Mountain, or Central time zones. including WA, OR, or NV.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Versed with the Washington/Oregon/Nevada region Behavioral Health provider market highly preferred
+ 3-5 years related experience Commercial HMO, PPO products knowledge
+ 3-5 years related experience Medicare and/or Medicaid products knowledge
+ Ideal candidate will reside in Mountain or Pacific Time Zones.
**Education**
+ Bachelor's degree preferred/specialized training/relevant professional qualification.
