Your opportunity
+ Lead and manage procurement negotiations to secure the best possible terms and conditions, balancing cost savings with quality, delivery and supplier/vendor relationships.
+ Develop and implement negotiation strategies to optimize procurement processes, ensuring alignment with the company's objectives and deliver value to the organization.
+ Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including teams such as Information Technology, Compliance, Finance, People, Operations, Data Privacy, and Legal, to understand procurement needs, firm objectives and risk tolerances, and align negotiation strategies accordingly.
+ Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
+ Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure long-term partnerships and favorable terms, fostering collaboration and ensuring smooth operations.
+ Responsible for oversight of a global contract management system.
+ Manage and/or mentor a procurement and vendor management team, providing guidance and support to enhance team performance and professional growth.
+ Assist in the development and implementation of procurement and vendor management policies and procedures.
+ Provide training and guidance to junior team members on negotiation techniques and best practices, and due diligence of global vendors.

Must have skills
+ Proven experience in procurement negotiation and management, preferably in the financial services industry.
+ Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with a focus on negotiation.
+ Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess market trends and supplier performance.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective negotiation and relationship building.
+ Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Compensation information
The base salary range for this position is $175,000 - $195,000. This range is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different. This post will remain open through the end of October 2025.

**Associate Director, Gould Negotiation and Mediation Program**
**ONE-YEAR FIXED-TERM POSITION, with the possibility of renewal.**
**This is a part-time position (22 hours a week) managing the Gould Negotiation and Mediation Program at Stanford Law School. This position will be supervised by the Director of the Martin Daniel Gould Center for Conflict Resolution. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
**Develop Negotiation and Mediation Program Initiatives:**
+ **Develops initiatives and implements changes to improve quality and services of the program. Identifies and determines cause of problems; develops and presents recommendations for improvement of established processes and practices.**
+ **Researches and develops resources that create timely and efficient workflow.**
+ **Expand Gould's simulation database by updating existing simulations; and creating new simulations which includes teaching notes, sample preparation memos, slides, and other support materials. Supervise legal assistant(s).**
+ **In collaboration with the Director, conduct an assessment of the current Gould courses and update the courses including sample syllabi, teaching plan and guide, and interactive exercises.**
+ **Teach two Gould Negotiation and Mediation Program courses per academic year.**
+ **Provide classroom instruction, workshops, and training sessions; assist faculty members teaching conflict resolution courses (including co-teaching where appropriate).**
+ **Provide coaching, training, development, and feedback to lecturers. Organizes and facilitates teaching team meetings, orientation sessions, and retreats.**
+ **Works with Director in hiring, managing and developing student employees efficiently.**
+ **Maintains contact with students, faculty, staff, and administration; and solicits feedback for improved services.**
+ **Maximizes productivity through use of appropriate deployment of people, technology and tools, planned training and performance initiatives.**
+ **Represents University and University programs competently and professionally.**
+ **Prepares progress reports; informs Director of project status; and deviation from goals. Ensures completeness, accuracy and timeliness of all operational functions.**
+ **Prepares and submits reports as requested and required.**
**Minimum Qualifications:**
**Bachelor's degree and minimum three years of relevant experience or a combination of education, training, and relevant experience. An advanced degree is required (Juris Doctor highly preferred).**
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:**
+ **Ability to develop program partnerships.**
+ **Excellent oral, written, and analytical skills, exhibiting fluency in area of specialization.**
+ **Ability to oversee and direct staff.**
**Helpful information you should know:**
+ **Considerable time is spent at a desk using a computer terminal.**
+ **May be required to travel to other buildings on the campus.**
+ **Will need to talk on the phone or videoconference with clients, mentors, etc.**
+ **Work on evenings or weekends may be required.**

+ **Education and interest in Dispute Resolution (e.g., recent experience in negotiation and other conflict resolution courses preferred)**
+ **Demonstrated understanding of how a university operates and makes decisions**
+ **A positive and professional approach to all constituencies**
+ **Strong organizational and leadership skills**
+ **Strong PC and Mac skills, including Microsoft Office suite and Google Apps; willingness to learn and master new software**
+ **The ability to work independently and complete projects accurately and on time with minimal supervision**
+ **Proven ability to thrive in a multi-task, fast-paced environment, including working in a team-centered manner**
+ **Ability to prioritize and delegate with minimal supervision**
+ **Experience with developing inclusive opportunities for students with a wide range of background and experiences**

**The expected pay range for this position is $68,640 to $80,765.85 per annum.** **Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position.
