The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating assigned equipment used to install fiber-optic cable, copper cable, coaxial cable, single and three phase power cable and possibly sewer or water facilities. This position will assist with all aspects of the job requiring operation of both smaller and larger scale heavy equipment along with possible or occasional basic labor duties. • Reads set up and quality instructions and work orders for specifications of job set up, quality specification and work order standards.
• Documents start up process and/or process changes in the press set up notebooks and daily records machine cycle times.
• Troubleshoots the molding and Life Floor equipment by making the appropriate adjustments to the machine.
• Sets up and cleans hoppers and other equipment to avoid contamination and to prepare raw materials for processing.
• Sets up fixtures, work tables, box holders, additive feeders and other appropriate equipment.
• Performs daily work station set ups and teardown including machine cleaning and auxiliary equipment set-ups.
• Troubleshoots equipment and make repairs as needed.
• Must keep work cells stocked.
