Responsible for observing the opacity of emissions generated from the coking making process and recording the observations in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
**Primary Duties/Responsibilities:**
+ The data collected is entered into a database.
+ This portion of the role requires working in a heavy industrial environment with strict safety requirements.
+ Working with on-site Client managers to address the water requirements associated with respective facilities and manage all aspects of the respective facilities water permits.
+ Following the sampling programs relative to NPDES permits and established in-house water sampling programs is essential to the service provided.
**Work Environment:**
+ The role requires working outdoors and requires walking, climbing steps, acclimation to heat and cold.
+ The role requires individuals to be available to work 5-days per week that may include Saturday and Sunday.
+ Shifts may be longer than 8-hours per day therefore individuals will be required to work overtime if delays in the operations occur.
**Qualifications**
**Education/Experience/Background:**
+ High School Diploma/GED is required.
+ Some experience in a related position or industrial environment preferred.

Description
Develops, manages, and administers project control activities and resources from conception through engineering and construction of Metro facilities, including Capital Projects, and to ensure projects are initiated, conducted, and completed on schedule and within budget. This position will support the Zero Emissions Bus Charging Infrastructure Program in day-to-day procurement, design, and construction activities and will monitor the status and health of construction, construction support services, and design support service contracts. This will include the management, oversight, and timely coordination of ZEB charging infrastructure facility projects from start to finish and within approved budgets.
Examples of Duties
- Manages Facilities Operations Capital Projects, including all aspects of engineering and construction, technical support, schedules, budget, funding, grants management, staffing, agency reporting, and prioritization of work
- Establishes, maintains, implements, and audits cost and schedule management activities for Facilities Operations Capital projects to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and plans
- Reviews, analyzes, and interprets complex project design and construction budgets, schedules, and costs to ensure conformance with authorized scope, time, and dollar requirements
- Reviews, analyzes, and monitors actual project performance related to budget, cost, and schedules management activities
- Identifies problems and recommends resolutions to budget, cost, and schedule-related activities
- Prepares and presents reports to management and the Board of Directors
- Oversees performance and evaluates work of consultants to ensure compliance and consistency with agency, department, and project objectives

**Job Description Summary**
A post-doctoral fellow position is available in the Biosystems Engineering Department at Auburn University, Auburn, AL. The post-doctoral fellow will work in the areas of nutrient management, hydrology, water quantity, and quality modeling. The primary responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to 1) evaluating the effectiveness of agricultural best management practices (e.g., biochar and other related soil amendments) to improve soil health, and water quality and mitigate greenhouse gas emissions, (2) using hydrological models to simulate the fate and transport processes of contaminants, (3) mentoring graduate students, (4) develop research proposals and peer-reviewed publications, and (5) present research results at conferences. The initial appointment period will be one year. However, depending on the funding availability and performance of the candidate, the position can be extended beyond one year. The expected start date is April 2025.
**Minimum Qualifications**
The minimum qualifications required for this position include a Ph.D. from an accredited institution in Agricultural or Civil Engineering, Soil Science, or hydrology-related field at time of employment. Basic knowledge in hydrological modeling (e.g.,SWAT ,APEX ,HYDRUS ) and nutrient management is desirable. The candidate should have a prior experience in statistical analysis, publishing peer-reviewed articles, and conducting chemical analyses of water and soil samples in a laboratory. The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the term of employment.
**Desired Qualifications**
Desired qualifications include previous experience in using analytical instruments such as AQ2 Discrete Analyzer,ICP -OES , and developing proposals for securing extramural funding.

The Assistant Environmental Engineer within the Air Quality & Noise department will work under the supervision of a licensed professional engineer to assist with air permitting and noise services to the power, industrial, commercial, oil & gas and manufacturing industries. + Assist staff and senior level project managers with preparing air permit applications, air permitting analyses, site evaluations, noise monitoring and modeling assessments and other environmental tasks as assigned by managers.
+ Assist with air dispersion modeling using Environmental Protection Agency approved modeling programs such as AERMOD.
+ Assist with emission calculations and estimates for routine emissions as well as maintenance, startup and shutdown emissions.
+ Assist with greenhouse gas analyses for our clients.
+ Assist with environmental compliance and permitting projects, such as Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasures Plans and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans as well as facility environmental audits and other compliance activities.

+ Assists in the environmental design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.
+ Assists with modifying and reviewing production drawings for a variety of projects including, but not limited to: power plants, process facilities, industrial facilities, healthcare facilities, airports, educational institutions, commercial, and governmental and military facilities.
+ Assists in designing environmental components for project needs and requirements that are set forth by the project managers.
+ Applies basic knowledge of commonly used environmental engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the environmental engineering services industry.
