**Responsibilities:**
GENERAL PURPOSE
The Space Planner is responsible for documenting and analyzing utilization of URMedicine's space resources, developing space programs, designing concept plans, and recommending solutions to the Sr. Space Planners and Associate Director in support of the institution's strategic priorities. Has specialized expertise developed through education and work experience in the fields of space and furniture planning and interior design and uses industry tools to support scenario planning and development of creative solutions. May act as lead, coordinating and facilitating the work of others, but not as supervisor, to manage move logistics and conduct detailed space inventories and analyses based on physical surveys as well as data collected from the University's space management platform. Works autonomously, within established procedures and practices, to manage databases crucial to department operations, establishing instructions and deadlines for Sr. Space Planners to ensure accurate and timely reporting of data. Supports the development and delivery of new solutions to complex problems which may be recurring in nature or to which precedent may not exist. Prepares reports and presentations for use by both departmental and senior URMedicine leadership for use in decision making.
**RESPONSIBILTIES:**
**Space Planning (35%)**
+ Independently translates end user requests into detailed space requirements and drafts preliminary space programs based on established URMedicine space standards to develop scope of work. Uses experience and judgement to determine space wants versus needs.
+ Applies design principles, uses industry benchmarks, and considers institutional priorities and emerging trends to develop test fits, concept plans, block diagrams, furniture layouts, and conducts utilization and scenario planning. Recommends alternative solutions and space allocations to Sr. Space Planner.
**Move Management (15%)**
+ Oversees the move management process of individual and/or full departmental moves. Develops and executes a detailed plan that includes coordination with other University service providers. Prepares scope of work, budget and schedule. Engages and directs internal and external service providers (movers, UIT, ISD, Facilities, etc.).
+ Performs physical space audits/walkthroughs as required to ensure the success of relocation projects. Provides site support during moves.
+ Coordinates with departments and stakeholders to ensure move logistics are in alignment.
+ Performs space data updates to reflect moves.
**Data Management and Analysis (35%)**
+ Independently conducts periodic site visits to survey and perform field measurements to identify discrepancies in department locations and configuration of spaces in the University's space management database; manages, maintains, and analyzes data to ensure any changes are documented in the space system.
+ Collaborates with ORACs, Financial Reporting, the University Architect's office, and University IT to execute annual University-wide space surveys as well as the more rigorous "base year" surveys used for government F&A cost rate proposals. Acts as subject matter expert, providing guidance to administrators from across URMedicine to ensure timely and accurate data collection.
+ Performs both routine and special project data analyses using data from the University's space management platform, departmental databases, physical survey data, and interviews. Employs various data analysis strategies to "slice and dice" data to explore space utilization from different perspectives, to discover patterns, and to draw conclusions.
**Department Operations (15%)**
+ Independently manages and coordinates key department databases to track space requests, space availability, competing needs, and rental space. Manages Space Planning email inbox and triages inquiries and requests, making decisions in real time based on current priorities. Acts as subject matter expert during annual space survey periods, investigating and troubleshooting nuanced customer inquiries about their space data and issuing timely responses. Reviews initial space request forms from departments and ensures that requests are complete and follow guidelines.
+ Recommends updates to departmental standard operating procedures and collaborates with Manager and Associate Director to develop and maintain standard checklists and documented processes.

**REQUIREMENTS**
+ Bachelor's degree required with major course work in a social or technical field, preferably in interior design, architecture, or related discipline.
+ 2 years of related work experience in architecture, facility planning, interior design or planning; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The Space Planner is responsible for creating, documenting, and managing the merchandise presentation of planograms for multiple categories of product. + Analyze sales and gross margin data on published planograms to ensure proper use of space and suggest adjustments for future planograms.
+ Analyze placement of new items based on sales and gross margin potential.
+ Allocate space by item using internal and/or external sales data.
+ Ensure the integrity of product details (dimensions, pictures, etc.).
+ Collaborate with the Replenishment Analysts to ensure store product allocation quantities are consistent with sales and planogram specifics.
+ Partner with the Visual Merchandising team to ensure all on shelf signage is accurately represented on the planogram.
+ Works closely with the Floor Planning team to support new store floor layouts for new stores and remodel stores.

**Qualifications**

JOB DESCRIPTION - Web UI Developer - Space Mission Control System

NASA, working with private industry, is planning our return to the Lunar Surface. For the first time since 1972, we are planning boots on the Moon. For the first time ever, we will conduct Lunar Polar explorations on the surface. These explorations will include both human and robotic missions. Join the team planning the Volatiles Investigating Polar Exploration Rover, or VIPER – the first robotic lunar polar surface exploration, at NASA in Silicon Valley.

We are looking for an experienced software developer to work on an open source next generation web-based mission control system. As a software developer on the Open MCT (Open Mission Control Technologies) project, you will be writing code to support our lunar efforts, adding capabilities to a code base that is used daily in support of NASA’s interplanetary and Earth observing spacecraft, and building new capabilities to support NASA’s upcoming lunar missions. Open MCT is an open source project developed at NASA's Ames Research Center, in collaboration with the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and has a community of users and developers both within and outside of NASA.

You must be self-motivated and able to work independently.  If you love space, that’s even better. This role is based at Ames Research Center, but may require occasional travel to support users at other NASA centers around the United States.

Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of new components and functionality for the Open MCT platform. We are looking for developers who can proactively work with users to understand requirements and who can design, develop, and test new features that meet those requirements.
  • li>Take part in team discussions about architecture and roadmap of the Open MCT platform
  • Develop unit tests, and periodically carry out functional testing as part of the development lifecycle
  • Contribute to peer reviews of code (and be submitted to peer reviews of code)

REQUIREMENTS - Web UI Developer - Space Mission Control System

Education : B.S. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent

Year(s) of Experience : 4+ years of professional web development experience

Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

Qualifications, Skills and Traits:
