Kdc/one is the leading best-in-class producer of beauty and personal care products. We are growing and are hiring an experienced Packaging Engineer current for our state of the art manufacturing site in Groveport, OH. This role plans and directs activities to optimize filling line performance and drive continuous improvement plans and plays a key role in equipment selection for new projects and cost savings initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent; preferably Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering. In lieu of a degree, equivalent years of experience will be considered.
- Minimum 5 years experience in a production environment (preferably FDA regulated) with both high speed and agile filling and packaging systems.
- Drives continuous improvements throughout filling and packaging operations.
- Supports manufacturing operations by troubleshooting and process improvement.
- Develops and implements processes and systems to measure line performance and prioritize improvement areas to reduce downtime and small stops and improve quality and throughput.
- Manages the development and implementation of equipment for new products, processes, and capacity expansion plans.
- Leads equipment and process qualification activities for new equipment and processes.
- Assists with all project proposals and cost estimates as well as gathers all project related quotes. Provides costing estimates for projects and products.
- Provides leadership and training in continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, DMAIC, etc) and coaches employees in the use of these tools.
- Tracks improvement project and submits weekly summaries detailing status of each project.
- Participates in loss analysis studies.
- Uses 3D printing and 3D scanning technologies to improve cost and reactivity.
- Ensures that capital projects are on budget.
- Provides training to line leads, operators, and mechanics as needed in key SOPs and improvement methodologies.
- Supports Health & Safety programs and cGMP initiatives.
- Assists with preliminary budgetary information, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), and other paperwork according to established company policy.
- Maintains confidentiality of sensitive and confidential information.
- Exhibits regular and predictable attendance and works outside of the normal schedule as needed due to workplace demands (e.g. supporting off-shifts). Performs other related duties as required.

As a Packaging Equipment Operator, we rely on you to help ensure the last stage of our process goes off without a hitch! Much of your day is spent operating equipment and forklifts, as well as performing packaging and quality testing. You are dedicated to excellence, so pride yourself in being detail-oriented and meeting and/or exceeding our world-class quality measures. - High school diploma/GED preferred
- Track record of safe work performance including an adequate understanding of safety rules and regulations

- Can read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions
- Previous industrial experience is preferred
- Willing and able to work up to 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends and overtime

The role of **Senior Packaging Equipment Engineer** is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and optimization of packaging machinery and systems to ensure efficient and reliable operations.
This role works on projects from concept through to implementation and handover. This role collaborates with various functions to deliver innovative solutions that meet both company and industry standards.
At the senior level it is expected that this role can act autonomously, set the strategic plan for the site, build capability within the site and the NA and Global network through active involvement in communities of practice and project executions.
This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:
**Key responsibilities**
+ Design and Development
+ Specify and develop packaging machinery and systems including 3D models, detailed drawings, and selecting appropriate materials for use based on product and production requirements.
+ Analyse and improve manufacturing processes to enhance reliability, quality, and safety through mechanical innovations.
+ Project Management
+ Manage small packaging project improvements from concept to completion, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and coordinating with other departments.
+ Compliance and Safety
+ Ensure all mechanical installations and operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company safety and engineering standards.
+ Own the Site Machine Guarding Plan and all corresponding actions defined from IBM audit.
+ Installation and Commissioning
+ Oversee the installation, commissioning and start-up of mechanical systems and machinery, ensuring they are operational and meet safety standards.
+ Vendor Management
+ Source and manage relationships with vendors and suppliers.
+ Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement innovation to enhance efficiency and safety.
+ Maintenance, Troubleshooting and Technical Support
+ Perform/Oversee regular maintenance and troubleshooting of packaging systems and equipment to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
+ Provide technical support and guidance to maintenance and production teams, solving complex packing equipment issues.

**Basic Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.

Job Description:
n this role the Line Owner/System Owner must work under general supervision, owns all the technical aspects in a manufacturing line. The processes were the SO/LO Engineer shall be familiar with are: characterization of process optimization strategies and/or solving problems of operational issues in the packaging operations, manufacturing, pilot technologies or capital projects.
Applies basic engineering principles to the design and implementation of system modifications, experiments and/or capital projects. Organizes, analyzes and presents interpretation of results for operational issues or engineering projects of minor scope and complexity.
As a technical resource of an area, System owner / Line Owner Engineer shall interact and provide direction to technical resources such as Mechanics, Automation Techs and IS teams. At the same time, the System Owner/Line Owner Engineer shall be able to define designs requirement to the service providers to fulfill area technical and equipment needs.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.
• Under general supervision will evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques and procedures. Assistance given for unusual problems.
• Perform assignments that have clear and specific objectives and require investigation of limited number of variables.
• Initiate and complete routine technical tasks.
Operations Engineering:
• Function as a technical specialist to equipment or systems regarding problem solving operations. Frequently become actively involved in daily operations when required to meet schedules or to resolve problems.
• Routinely audit the operational performance and regulatory compliance of a moderate number of equipment items or systems of complexity.
• Work with research, manufacturing, maintenance, process development, utilities, facilities, quality assurance and/or validation departments in developing requirements and recommendations for system modifications.
Design Engineering:
• Work under the direct supervision of project managers to complete design, engineering, and construction projects within schedule and budget constraints.
• Work with consultants, architects and engineering firms on development of standard design documents.
• Acquire and critique quotes for equipment modifications or installations.
• Generate rudimentary project cost estimates and schedules.
Top Must Have Skills:
- Experience with packaging equipment, specifically pharmaceutical, food, or beverage.
- Experience with GMP environments.
- Good communication skills, troubleshooting skills, and a team player.
- Looking for Mechanical engineer ? industrial engineer (industrial is OK with relevant experience)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Advanced degree in Mechatronics, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering
• Knowledge and/or experience of pharmaceutical/biotech processes, especially in the area of final drug product operations

• Familiarity with validation processes for Packaging areas

- You are autonomous and work independently by generating your own appointments and serving your customers from beginning to end to ensure client satisfaction.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and CRM systems
- Bilingual in French is ideal, but not mandatory
- Frequent travel is required in the United States 60% with 70 % driving. A valid US driver's license and a travel DL in France are required for basic training on our machines and processes. Initial product training will be held in France; a Valid US Passport is required.
- Degree in Business, Engineering, or relevant experience in the technical field.
