Job Responsibilities
- Fill tables and cases with cakes by taking product from prep area to sales area.
- Follow proper procedures to ensure store meets out-of-stock percentage goals.

- Maintain quality of product for sale by checking sales area for dates and condition of product.
- Document and/or record daily known loss.

- Ice and decorate cakes by taking prepared icing and applying to cake using spatulas and icing bags.
- Prepare icing and products for all cakes and other decorated items by reading recipes, measuring ingredients, and mixing product.
- Assist in maintaining Bakery backroom, cooler and freezer efficiency by unloading deliveries.

**Job Summary**
Catering by Design is now hiring an exceptional Pastry Chef to join our Denver. CO based team. This culinary professional will maintain the high-quality standards of the Pastry Kitchen, focusing on development and production of the pastry kitchen needs. Our pastry chef is responsible for baking and finishing all daily required items for the Denver Botanic Gardens and other Catered Events. They will work in tandem with the other Sous Chefs and the Chef de Cuisine to ensure operations of the entire kitchen are running as need. + Daily production of all pastries and baked goods for catered events.

**Responsibilities :**
+ Assist Executive Pastry Chef to implement, maintain and review all approved menus onboard
+ Prepare all desserts, cakes and pastries for the restaurant menus
+ Assist with buffet set up
+ Instruct crew in the preparation of pastries, cakes and crèmes
+ Monitor and ensure opening and closing procedures for all kitchens and production areas
+ Oversee allergy and dietary training of Pastry staff and ensure training is in accordance with strict company LOG's and guidelines
+ Oversee proper preparation of special dietary meals and food allergy for guests and crew
+ Delegate, monitor and review the Chefs operational responsibilities
+ Strive to meet and exceed guest expectations, never compromising safety and quality, taking corrective action whenever necessary
+ Ensure Disney Cruise Line and USPH sanitation requirements are met in area of responsibility
+ Monitor and ensure the preparation and presentation of all products on the restaurant menus
+ Prepare showpieces, displays, ice cream and sorbets, as well as special request items when needed
+ Actively participate in all Castaway Cay job responsibilities associated with position and line of business as directed by DCL leadership
+ Execute additional job responsibilities, as assigned by DCL leadership, based on operational need
+ Comply with all company set policies and procedures, along with all maritime and ship rules, regulations and procedures
+ Participate in Emergency Duties as specified in the ship Assembly Plan
**Basic Qualifications :**
+ Minimum five years recent experience as Pastry Chef or Pastry Chef de Partie
+ Certified Pastry Chef or equivalent degree in Culinary Arts
+ Excellent technical and functional understanding of the ship based Food & Beverage operation
+ Proven track record of delivering a high quality product
+ Be at least 21 years of age
+ Be able to speak, read and write fluent English
+ Willingness to live and work onboard one of our vessels for a certain length of time (based on position)
+ Be able to work a seven-day, 70-84 hour week with limited time off
+ Be able to adhere to Disney Cruise Line appearance guidelines
+ Agree to share a cabin with other crew members
+ Enjoy working in a high-volume, fast-paced, guest-service oriented environment
+ Be flexible with your work schedule, job duties and work locations
+ Appreciate diversity among guests and crew
**Additional Information :**
This is a **SHIPBOARD** role.

+ Be genuinely interested in a career at sea and willing to live and work onboard a Disney Cruise Line vessel

Job Description
Andaz Maui at Wailea is the first resort for the Andaz brand. Situated on Maui's premier southwestern coastline, the 15-acre beachfront resort is located along Mokapu Beach in Wailea, one of the most sought after leisure and resort destinations in the world. The luxury resort community of Wailea includes a 1.2 mile-long oceanfront beach path connecting five crescent-shaped, golden-sand beaches, a premier shopping center and distinguished restaurants.
Pastry Chef will be responsible for managing a team of Pastry cooks in preparing all pastry items and bakery items in-house that will include Banquets, Specialty Restaurants and one off Unique Events that incorporate Hawaiian Produce. Need to be "hands on" with strong administrative skills. This Pastry Chef is a liaison between all departments within the hotel. Skills and knowledge to include baking/pastry education, cost control, communication skills, training skills and knowledge of all pastry/baking related tasks, computer skills, organizational skills, guest contact and staff management knowledge.
Other responsibilities would also include the following:
+ Lead, train, and supervise the pastry team in preparation and production for all outlets and events.
+ Develop and execute pastry and bakery menus that reflect creativity and seasonality incorporating local Hawaiian ingredients.
+ Ensure consistency, quality, and on-brand presentation of all baked goods and desserts.
+ Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen in accordance with health and safety standards.
+ Collaborate with the Executive Chef, Events and all F&B teams.
+ Manage inventory, cost control, and ordering for pastry and bakery needs.
+ Train and mentor pastry cooks in accordance to _Hyatt's Leadership Expectation._
+ Attend interdepartmental meetings and contribute to operational planning and innovation.
+ Open to conductguest-facing pastry classesthat are engaging, informative, and aligned with the resort's Culinary philosophy.

The salary range for this position is $83,000 to $95,000. Decisions regarding individual salaries commensurate with experience and qualifications.

**Qualifications:**
+ Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in pastry leadership roles, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort setting.
+ Strong administrative and organizational skills, with experience in scheduling, ordering, and food cost control.
+ Proficient in computer systems including Microsoft Office and basic kitchen management software.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively across departments.
