Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Supervises Payroll Specialists in the preparation, distribution, and reporting process for Payroll Department
+ Oversees the calculation of wages, overtime, and deductions, and implements internal controls to ensure compliance with Federal/State laws
+ Ensures payments and reporting are disbursed timely and accurately
+ Establishes policies and procedures for payroll function
+ Updates Payroll Procedures Manual
+ Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
Minimum Requirements:
+ College Degree preferred; High School diploma or equivalent required
+ 3-5 years of payroll experience in a supervisory role is preferred
+ Experience with ADP Enterprise a plus
+ CPP preferred
+ Ability to act as a team player while providing world-class customer service
+ Experience in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
+ Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills required; proficiency in the English language may be required
Salary/Wage Information:
$65,000 - $5,000, with a 6,500 annual bonus potential

**Responsibilities**
As the Workday Solution Owner:
+ You will provide strategic guidance, planning and best practices to executive leaders to make investment decisions that align with the long-term vision of the organization.

- Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance
- Execute time and attendance processing and interface with payroll
- Perform compliance for unclaimed property payroll checks

- Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed
- Process manual checks

Alpha Omega is seeking an highly experienced Payroll Specialist for managing and processing payroll for employees who work on government contracts. The Payroll Specialist must be able to use Unanet Project Portfolio Financials and UKG UltiPro proficiently. Given the specialized nature of government contracting and the regulatory requirements involved, attention to detail, accuracy, and compliance are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Timekeeping and Attendance: Monitor and manage employee timekeeping records, and ensure hours worked, overtime, and leave taken is accurately reported by employees. Compute earned leave for eligible employees and maintain accurate balances at all times. Facilitate remittance of payroll taxes to federal, state and local authorities and employee deductions, withholdings and contributions to third-party administrators.
Compliance: Process timesheets and payroll in a manner that consistently complies with federal, state, and local tax laws, as well as regulations specific to government contracting.
Reporting: Summarize, analyze and report data related to employee earnings, payroll taxes, garnishments, levies, contributions, deductions, and withholdings. Generate standard and ad hoc reports of payroll and timekeeping information for internal use, to third-party benefits administrators, and as required by federal and state government agencies and regulators such as the U.S. Department of Labor or the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
Audit Support: Assisting with internal and external audits related to payroll, including audits by government agencies or third-party auditors.
Systems Management: Utilize Unanet Project Portfolio Financials and UKG payroll software to process payroll accurately and efficiently. Maintain timely awareness of current best practices and evolving trends as they relate to payroll systems.
Communication: Respond to inquiries regarding computed net pay, and guide employees to resources and or service portals offered by the company to support employee updates to deductions, contributions, withholdings, and direct deposit of net pay.
Continuous Improvement: Identifying areas for process improvement and implementing best practices to streamline payroll processes and enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Training and Development: Maintain understanding of domestic federal and state payroll laws and regulations through ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Required Qualifications:
- Education:
- A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field
- Experience/Skills:
- At least 4 years proven experience as Payroll Administrator.
- Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and its application to successfully draft payroll entries to the general ledger.
- Strong knowledge of legislation and regulations of the field
- Proficient in MS Office and knowledge of relevant software (e.g. Unanet Project Portfolio Financials) and databases
- Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information
- Outstanding organizational ability and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Expertise in supporting transformative initiatives across multiple teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Comfortable with payroll software and systems used by government contractors, such as Unanet Project Portfolio Financials, UKG UltiPro, or similar platforms.
- Adherence to ethical standards and confidentiality regarding sensitive payroll information.
- Capability to analyze payroll data, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues effectively.
- Capacity to troubleshoot payroll-related problems, address inquiries, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Effective time management skills to work autonomously and meet payroll processing deadlines while completing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to adapt to changing requirements, priorities, and deadlines in a dynamic government contracting environment.
The likely salary range for this position is $75,000- $00,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position and could fall outside of this range.
