MRK Partners is seeking a dynamic Portfolio Analyst, with prior multifamily property experience, who will provide data and financial analysis across the asset management portfolios to inform strategic decisions. Please note: this is an onsite role in our LA office.

What You Will Do:
- Analyze asset performance within the assigned portfolios and provide insights to Asset Managers.
- Provide financial underwriting, modeling, and analysis for current affordable multifamily projects.
- Review, analyze, and summarize tax returns and financial statements to inform asset management decisions.
- Conduct research on and evaluate policies, markets, demographics, programs, and strategies as aligned to the portfolio needs.
- Prepare analysis and memos for appropriate internal review processes.
- Perform specific data analysis to assist AM team with reports or presentations as requested.
- Review and synthesize rent collection data and vacancies to guide leasing direction.
- Review variance reports to determine patterns within OpEx, provide data driven solutions for improvements.
- Execute special projects in a timely and effective manner, as assigned by leadership.
- Create and maintain property and market level databases.
- Manage systems and projects in a timely and orderly fashion.
Qualifications and Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or related field. Relevant experience may be substituted for education.
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience in an analyst role.
- Experience in commercial real estate, banking, or another similar environment highly preferred.
- Prior experience with multifamily housing required; prior affordable housing experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and virtual meeting applications.
- Experience working with Monday.com Work OS and RealPage software preferred but not required.
- Ability to use AIM internal portfolio system.
The compensation range for this role is $80,000-$90,000 salary, based on experience.

**About the role:**
The Portfolio Analyst role is an exciting position, demanding excellent analytical, business partnering and thought leadership skills. You will own and manage X's financial data and planning cycles, ensuring quality in our data infrastructure and integrity in our reporting processes, and using that data to identify actionable insights and metrics for X's portfolio. In addition, you will lead strategic finance for a number of X projects, requiring you to partner with product, engineering, business development and other cross-functional staff to help your teams make critical business decisions. Your projects will depend on you for business models, capital allocation and P and L statements. **What you should have:**
+ 3+ years experience in financial modeling, data analytics, finance, startup finance, venture capital, or similar relevant environment
+ BA/BS degree in finance, economics, business, or technical field, or equivalent practical experience

**THE OPPORTUNITY**
The Portfolio Analyst role is responsible for monitoring the performance of borrowers, identifying deviations from expected performance, and raising credit concerns to the portfolio team. The Portfolio Analyst should strive to understand the client's operating performance and needs, and work to build strong working relationships both internally and externally. Performs all duties in accordance with the Company's policies and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the Company operates.
**HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE**
+ Conduct financial analysis of credit and collateral of borrowers, with an emphasis on data collection and analysis.
+ Validate borrower compliance based on the Loan & Security Agreement.
+ Perform financial, operational, valuation, and transactional analyses.
+ Assist in underwriting modifications or renewals for borrowers, and help present deals to credit committee.
+ Complete borrower risk assessments.
+ Maintain data integrity in internal bank systems related to financials or other key information.
+ Produce internal deliverables.
+ Collaborate with management teams of portfolio companies to understand performance and financial needs.
+ Travel to client sites.
