Primary Duties: Developing and administering the safety program for the project and is tasked with achieving incremental improvements Provides oversight of projects from beginning to end, including budget, costs, unexpected events, general performance, and overall progress against the plan Performing and overseeing project-specific QA/QC practices to ensure the project delivered to project specifications and Yates’ standards of quality Completing walk-throughs of the site to ensure safety, cleanliness, and standards are maintained Identifying and resolving field and design issues Representing the site team in owners’ meetings Providing oversight of the development of the overall CPM schedule with the project team before construction and communicating updates to the schedule throughout the duration of the project Developing and maintaining the site logistics plan for the project Performing constructability reviews Arranging and leading preconstruction meetings with all subcontractors before beginning each phase of work Scheduling and leading the project close-out process Participating in the development of strategic plans, including VDC Participating in preparations of bid packages and procurement Performing estimating take-offs Tracking field progress against the “plan,” developing recovery plans if necessary Managing the project schedule, including each task associated with project completion Monitoring each trade’s work progress concerning each project phase and tracking against prescribed milestones Assisting in the development of the overall CPM schedule with the project team before construction and communicating updates to schedule throughout the duration of the project Working with the construction management team to ensure accurate unit tracking for subcontractors/vendors as it applies Managing the payment application process and tracking receivables Compiling and validating project contract documents for senior management execution Reviewing drafts of standard subcontracts and purchase orders for accuracy and preparing them for executive management execution Overseeing the change management system, ensuring there are no discrepancies or missing information upon submission of owner and subcontractor change orders Ensuring the accuracy of RFIs, submittals, procurement, as-builts and changes Preparing the monthly owner project status reports, ensuring financials are accurate Updating EOJ and submitting profit calculation worksheet weekly Converting estimate from MC2 into EOJ setup Demonstrate Yates Core Values and Job Summary:
Yates Construction is looking for a Business Development Manager for the power market sector to develop and implement growth opportunities in new and existing markets throughout the Southeastern United States. This position includes the development and implementation of a measurable strategy and sales plan for the power market sector focused on selling construction services. Yates is looking for a leader to leverage corporate resources to progress the overall Yates Companies work acquisition efforts that would serve as a member of the corporate business development team. An ideal candidate should have strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to travel.
The position includes but is not limited to performing the following sales, client, and business development attributes:
- Author a detailed, targeted and measurable business development plan for the power market sector (e.g. solar, battery storage, power generation, renewables, carbon capture, etc.). Execute the plan and adjust as necessary as market conditions fluctuate. Support will be provided from the entire Yates business development and marketing teams.
- Oversee and direct strategy for new business development creation in the power market sector. Track efforts and return on investment against spend and time spent. Cultivation of new business opportunities and strategies as agreed upon with the business development team.
- Organize and communicate customer relationship management (CRM) and sales efforts through our AEC360 CRM platform.
- Research and prioritize potential new business opportunities through market research.
- Conduct market research to determine the health of the market to stay abreast of industry developments, regulatory changes, and technological advancements in the power sector, positioning the company as a thought leader
- Attend and participate in networking organizations and events such as tradeshows, conferences, etc.
- Create proposals and presentations with the support of the Vice President of Business Development and marketing team
- Provide advice, liaison, and planning to prospective and current clients
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients, developers, utilities, independent power producers (IPPs), and other stakeholders in the power sector. Act as a trusted advisor, understanding their needs and positioning our solutions effectively

Senior Power Systems Engineer - Power Sector Consulting
KBR Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Senior Power Systems Engineer / Technical Lead to join our growing power sector consulting practice. This role requires strong technical expertise in power generation technologies, including natural gas combined cycle, renewables, and energy storage, coupled with experience in project development advisory, pre-FEED and FEED.
The successful candidate will lead technical studies, front-end design efforts, and client engagements supporting utilities, IPPs, and developers in project execution and energy transition initiatives.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
+ Lead technical front-end engineering design (FEED) studies for new power generation and repowering projects.
+ Conduct feasibility assessments, technology evaluations, and integration studies (including grid interconnection and Distributed Energy Resources (DERs)).
+ Provide expert advice on generation technologies: gas turbines, combined cycle, solar, wind, nuclear power, battery storage, and additional solutions like hydrogen blending and carbon capture.
+ Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on environmental, permitting, commercial analyses and M&A due diligence.
+ Interface directly with clients and technology licensors to ensure technical alignment and project success.

Job Qualifications:

The individual in this position will help grow our power practice in the Gulf Coast Region and work with client account managers to expand our services.
The Siting Regional Lead is a senior technical and strategic role with expertise in routing, siting, and licensing within their designated region. This individual plays a critical role in project execution and regional growth of the siting team, leveraging strong relationships with Client Project Managers and collaborating closely with Stantec Account Managers to expand the Routing and Siting practice.
The Siting Regional Lead is responsible for building and managing high-performing project teams, working with the Siting and GIS Siting Technical leads to successfully deliver routing and siting projects within the region.
