The hiring range for this role is: $140,560.00 - $216,595.00 This is the lowest to highest salary we, in good faith, believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. **Position Summary**
As a practitioner and Media Relations lead, position is responsible for generating rich, engaging earned media coverage of the Company in areas that will make the biggest impact with customers and stakeholders, driving business results and brand awareness. **Essential Responsibilities**
+ Applying extensive media relations experience, work with key leaders and managers to recommend, plan and implement broad-based communications strategies for critical company policies, projects and programs, and key communications strategies to engage regional and national news media. Counsel and train corporate officers, key managers and spokespersons regarding news media strategies.
+ Craft company news releases and other strategic communications for external and internal audiences. Provide safety and customer services messages on an around-the-clock basis, if necessary, through the appropriate sharing of after-hours and on-call duties. Monitor and analyze news media coverage of the Company and other energy-related issues. Advise company management on suggested courses of action.
+ Provide strategic communication counsel to executives and pursue speaking engagements and PR opportunities to position leadership on the local and national stage.
+ Collaborate with other media relations representatives on corporate initiatives, projects and messaging.
+ Manage necessary administrative functions.
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelor's degree in journalism or communications.
+ Seven years of experience in media relations or public relations required.
+ Experience in utility company media relations, as a reporter or work in a newsroom is highly desirable.

**Responsibilities**
+ Prepares correspondence and communication materials for business priorities based on the broader strategy guidelines for distribution.
+ Creates specific content, visuals and initial drafts (such as newsletters, presentations, project communication materials, digital platforms and other documents) that align with the company's message.
+ Manages communications vehicle(s) as necessary.
+ Facilitates stakeholder engagement, handles inquiries and complaints, and assists with post engagement analysis.
+ Liaises and coordinates with important partners, which could include internal colleagues and external stakeholders.
+ Conducts data analysis, delivers insights and participates in learning sessions to make informed decisions for content development.
+ Helps to develop communications plans, recommending specific tactics, distribution channels, timing and execution strategies, as well as monitoring campaign performance and reporting on results.
+ Aids with communications initiatives, supports events and performs other communication tasks, including research and tracking communications trends.
+ Reviews all materials and content for quality and brand alignment.
+ A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Five or more years of experience in Corporate Communications within a corporate and/or agency environment.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Media and social media experience - either as a reporter in a newsroom or in an agency or corporate environment.
+ Experience analyzing media and social media metrics (and preparing reports), knowledge of media landscape and proficient in all social media platforms.
+ Experience with Factiva, Cision and BusinessWire.
+ Ability/desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
+ Strong customer service/communications skills.
+ Excellent writing skills/abilities for media and social media platforms.
Additional Information
+ This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
