YOUR ROLE
As an Operations team member, you'll play a crucial role in delivering world class customer service and capabilities to our policyholders-now and in the future. As a Business Process Improvement Specialist, you will be responsible for identifying, defining, and leading projects and initiatives across the LTC Contact Center. These projects have a direct impact on improving the experience for our customers and resolving risk and compliance concerns. We are looking for someone with a passion for leading transformational process improvements, executing on system initiatives, resolving risk concerns, and collaborating with a team of highly motivated process improvement representatives.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Define, develop, and provide information and analysis to drive the decision- making process and support business operations for internal and external customers
- Make complex business decisions based on experience and sound judgment
- Motivate and direct team members to build cooperative project teams to conduct research and analysis to quantify business opportunities and issues; Develop formal recommendations for presentation to management
- Influence all levels of an organization to support programs, projects and over all processes
- Identify and execute process improvements to ensure Compliance adherence while increasing productivity
- Identify and implement key strategic projects to ensure deadlines and commitments are met while removing any roadblocks that develop
- Work with stakeholders to generate solutions to business issues and then plans/implements those solutions
- Track overall project status for entire department in order to periodically report to management
- Develop peer and cross functional relationships to maximize best practice sharing and team effectiveness

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (2+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree)
- Minimum of 2+ years facilitating, leading projects, or leading a team
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to resolve complex issues and projects while keeping stakeholders appropriately informed
- Demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate and communicate at all levels of the organization and with external customers, through verbal and written formats

What You'll Do:
Visit Plants. Prioritize, coordinate, and participate in plant process and improvement reviews. Work with plant manager and area manager on a monthly basis to check goal progress, review plant KPIs and cost performance, develop short term improvement actions, and follow up on projects.
Collaborate. Effectively engage with other support functions (Central Services, Procurement, Finance, Mining and Geology, etc.) to ensure an overall coordinated approach on projects, engineering, and/or management of outside resources for projects.
Participate in Production Planning. Set production targets (production and cost) for each plant segment. Assist local management with understanding possible growth areas and how those changes will impact the bottom.
Define Key Performance Metrics. Define key metrics and ensure standardization in data collection. Drive a clear and transparent view of operational success.
Ensure Compliance and Proper Training. Ensure assigned plants are in compliance with company policies, practices, and standards, including ARC Flash, Electrical Upgrades, and Automation Upgrades. Ensure all employees understand the tools and resources that are available to help them manage their business, including knowledge of systems capabilities for pulling historical information.
Maintain Relationships. Maintain relationships with the general managers, area managers, and plant managers in your assigned plants. Work with them to define, develop, share, and drive implementation of agreed upon best practices.
Champion Continuous Improvement. Collect and organize information to identify process improvement opportunities through plant site visits and plant process reviews. Utilize innovation and historical information to make high quality, informed decisions. Conduct process engineering of "everyday" type projects (conveyor install, pit moves, etc.) to include control system automation.

Education. Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Experience. Must have ten years of engineering experience in a heavy industrial, civil/mechanical engineering, or mining environment. Must have experience with aggregate facilities engineering. Industrial experience is preferred. Asphalt and Ready Mix Concrete experience is preferred.
Interpersonal Skills. Must have the ability to effectively influence change. Must have the ability to effectively maintain relationships with key internal and external customers.

Job Summary: The Process Improvement Specialist will lead initiatives to optimize operational efficiency through data-driven solutions that enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction. They will serve as a liaison between corporate initiatives and field operations, collaborating with branch leadership to ensure practical and effective implementation across the service organization.
Pay Range: $78,000 - $33,000. This pay range is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of compensation for this role across the country. The final offer for this position will be determined by factors including geographic location, experience, skills and education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead process improvement activities across multiple locations within our lead to cash processes.
- Partner with branch leadership to understand local market needs, challenges, and operational constraints, to develop and implement best practice operational models across service organization
- Collaborate with service managers and their teams to enhance scheduling systems and reduce response times for emergency repairs
- Analyze current service workflows and procedures across inspection, maintenance, testing, and repair operations to identify bottlenecks/opportunities and deliver improvement results.
- Develop, document, and implement standardized procedures to enhance technician productivity and service quality, utilizing best in class service procedures, ensuring consistency and compliance with NFPA standards
- Create standardized workflows for common service procedures across service divisions
- Create and maintain KPIs for service delivery, including but not limited to technician productivity, inventory turnover, revenue per service hour, first-time completion rates, callbacks, customer satisfaction, etc.
- Design and implement resource optimization strategies to improve technician utilization and route efficiency, utilizing GPS tracking and historical service data
- Design, lead, and deliver effective training programs for service coordinators and technicians on new processes and procedures
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste and increase operational efficiency across our branch network.
- Lead our change management processes which enable successful changes, improves our communication, and delivers stakeholder buy-in and engagement.
- Establish quality control measures for inspection and testing documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Work with Hiller's Business Application teams to optimize mobile technology usage for field technicians and improve real-time data collection, reducing paperwork and improving data accuracy
- Work with other cross-functional teams to ensure process changes align with business objectives
- Train employees including new acquisitions on best practices, system application, & Hiller's SOP where required.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- This role is fully remote with preference given to candidates in the Eastern and Central time zones.
- 25-50% domestic travel required in this role, predominately supporting Eastern US region of Hiller branches
What We Are Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in process improvement, preferably within technical field service operations
- Advanced NICET certifications in Fire Protection Systems a plus
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification, Process improvement projects with documented sustained results, or Experience with multiple problem solving methodologies with multiple project references. ( 8 Step/10 step process improvement, DMAIC, PDCA experience.)
- Proven experience with service management platforms (Service Trade, Building Reports, Field Edge, Etc.)
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of branch personnel, with the capacity to influence without direct authority
- Experience working with distributed branch & field operations
- Demonstrated success in multi-site process improvement initiatives
- Ability to build consensus across diverse branch teams
- Experience in change management and delivering sustainable change in a fast paced environment
