**Job Summary:**
This position is responsible for the development of new and innovative products for the metal and plastic repair markets. This person is a senior, experienced industrial bench scientist/chemist and project leader with a passion and curiosity for polymer composite structure-property relationships, reaction kinetics, non-Newtonian rheology and successfully bringing chemical products to market. This person enjoys the mixture of team leadership and mentorship while still operating in the lab and performing benchtop chemistry. Individual functions as a "player-coach" with both individually assigned projects as well as oversight of a small team.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities** **:**
+ Technical project leadership for customer backed innovation (CBI) projects in the field of reactive polymer composites, primers and coatings
+ To create, develop and scale patentable innovative products for plastic and metal repair markets.
+ Direct supervision and leadership of small team of chemists/technicians tasked with divisional research and development projects and initiatives.
+ To deliver and articulate structure property relationships using mathematical/statistical models derived from a 'design of experiments' (DOE) rapid prototyping approach to development
+ Lead critical raw material projects such that supply chain disruptions and/or lower cost innovative solutions are delivered to production and/or the business
+ Own scale up and new product package transfer, including QC specification setting, to Production and Quality Control of all new product developments
+ Develop objective (i.e. with Gage R&R) test methods as needed for application testing as needed
+ Champion continuous improvement in the CBI/New Product Development phase gate process from Ideation to Launch while using project management techniques and best practices
+ Participate in plant safety teams and share responsibility for chemical hygiene and chemical hazardous communication
+ Other duties may be assigned

**Education and Experience:**
+ Minimum master's degree in chemistry or Polymer Science or Polymer Engineering or Chemical Engineering or equivalent. A Ph.D. in chemistry, polymer science or polymer engineering is preferred.
+ Minimum 5 years of relevant industrial experience after graduation preferred.
**Qualifications and Skills:**
+ Strong senior level bench chemistry formulation proficiency along with technical problem-solving skills, classic testing instrumentation knowledge and experience
+ Technical paper authorship
+ Public technical presentations
+ Project management training. Stage Gate process training.
+ Practical knowledge of statistical tools (like DOE) and relevant software (like JMP or Minitab)
+ Experience in rapid prototyping
+ Design for Six Sigma experience also considered a plus

- Lead new development of our enterprise platform, research and evaluate new technologies, to create and maintain modern applications.

- Mentor and provide expert knowledge of existing application functionality, cross-application integrations, and 3rd party system integrations.
- Perform development evaluation requests and provide feasibility and effort estimates.
- Manage the software development lifecycle and identify necessary improvements to performance, product architecture and customer experience.
- Build, maintain, support, and troubleshoot web applications hosted on a software-as-a-service platform.
- Identify and execute new strategies for application scalability, sustainability & improvement.
- Support project leaders with task planning for application updates or enhancements.
- Execute software application updates or enhancements per project and task plans & milestones.
- Provide project support and maintain communication within the project team.
- Conduct prototype building, reviews, application software testing, and quality assurance for stage and production release; and post-release monitoring amp; follow-up.

Skills and Qualifications:
- Must have at least a Master's degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems.
- Must have 12 months of experience in the position or a related role.
- Must have completed graduate level coursework in Coding Theory, Advanced Database Systems, and Embedded Systems.

GENERAL FUNCTION:
The Director, Brand Management - Commercial Banking is responsible for developing and delivering innovative marketing campaigns and generates effective strategies that grow market share as well as the brand's awareness and consideration, ultimately leading to client growth. The Director, Brand Management- Commercial Banking will also work directly with Fifth Third's creative agency of record to analyze how the brand is positioned in the market and crystalizes targeted client insights.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Assist in establishing strategic marketing campaigns to achieve corporate or divisional objectives.
+ Work in collaboration with marketing and line of business partners to develop marketing campaigns, which may include development of broadcast advertising, print, direct mail, in-branch merchandising; includes both major campaigns and blitzes.
+ Translates brand strategies into brand plans, brand positioning and go-to-market strategies.
+ Works with the Creative Services leader to steer creative development and create motivating stimulus to get targeted population to "take action".
+ Measures and reports performance of brand and advertising campaigns, and assesses against goals (ROI and KPIs).
+ Works with media agency to identify which media platforms would best suit Fifth Third's brand or products. Combines creative thinking with factual analysis to develop appropriate strategies to ensure that campaigns reach Fifth Third's target audiences as effectively as possible.
+ Monitors market trends, research client markets and competitors' Marketing activities to identify opportunities and key issues.
+ Develop and manage budget and provide feedback on an ongoing basis.
+ Oversees advertising activities to ensure consistency with brand strategy.
+ Brainstorms new and innovative growth strategies.
+ Aligns the company around the brand's direction, choices and tactics.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
