The Difference You Make:
The Associate, Product Development is responsible for executing the strategic product development process focused on bringing new products to the market and enhancing existing products across multiple asset classes and global distribution channels.
+ Handles medium scale project/product ownership.
+ Leads development phase by conducting applicable product research and cost/timeline management.
+ Partners with sourcing team for sample review and factory requirements.
+ Crosses functional project management between, Product Management, Inventory Management, Product Designers, Quality Control, Legal and Supply Chain.
+ Serves as internal product expert to assist product management in presenting new products to merchant teams.

Job Title/High-Level Position Summary:

Participates in all aspects of the projects from proposal to final design/release for the assigned project by performing the following duties. Works with a cross-functional product team consisting of product development engineers, marketing product managers, manufacturing engineers, regulatory and QA engineers in the design and development of surgical instruments and implants medical devices used in Total Shoulder Arthroplasty.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participates as an active member of the New Product Development Team:
    • Identifies and incorporates surgeon design requirements and product characteristics
    • Confers with cross-function teams (by way of example and not exclusion, Manufacturing Engineering, Purchasing and Regulatory); accepts and completes tasks as assigned
    • Creates product designs and documentation used to substantiate those devices (i.e. risk assessments, verification / validation activities, design review documentation, etc.)
    • Uses 3-D Modeling to develop concepts and mechanism design (Solidworks)
    • Compiles Design Dossiers or Design History Files
    • Assuring compliance to FDA and ISO regulations and internal procedures
    • Establishing and maintaining project schedule and budget
    • Reviewing designs for feasibility, accuracy and technical soundness
    • Defining and implementing testing requirements associated with projects
  • Participate in the evaluation of new concepts presented to Enovis Surgical by surgeons or other Enovis Surgical employees.
  • Collaborate / lead other engineering personnel in formulating project plans, designs, cost estimates, and specifications.
  • Assures proper preparation of documentation as required per project plans including user needs, surgeon feedback / IP, engineering drawings, test plans, manufacturing instructions, design verification and validation, engineering change notices, artwork and other supporting engineering documents.
  • Working with manufacturing, supply chain and quality assurance, reviews and monitors quality and process improvements for new product development.
  • Participates in surgeon symposia, focus groups and surgeon consultant meetings
  • Assists product development engineers and the Engineering Manager or Director of Shoulder Product Development with New Product Development projects

Manages a specific product or group of products from product definition and planning through production and release. Responsible for coordinating employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Directs interfaces with central resource in design, process, manufacturing, test, quality, and marketing as the product(s) move to completion and distribution. Manages production support engineering with respect to testing methods, procedures, and problems; device specification and yield problems; redesign of devices; analysis of customer returns; and optimization of device production relative to cost constraints. Serves as adviser to sales force and customers on all matters concerned with designated products. Recommends product program development and/or enhancements as a result of customer and/or sales force feedback.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for 2D and 3D drawings, including stack analysis, aimed at the implementation of prototypes, implantable devices, instruments for Base Business devices, instrument trays and instrument sets starting, but not only, from the Product Plan, from the Input/Output matrix (IOVV) and feedbacks collected from customers or other subjects involved in Base Business product development/update.
  • Design and technical management of custom cases with the support of Product Development team.
  • Develop and manage needed documentation for the development and registration of Custom implantable components and instruments.
  • Evaluation and responsibility of congruency of design Inputs.
  • Actively discuss case design with surgeons and sales reps, critically evaluating components design inputs.
  • Autonomously provide surgical field support for custom made products.
  • Proactively communicate within Company Functions for the respect of designed products timelines, costs and quality standard.
  • Proactively evaluate possible design flow implementation.
  • Participate at meetings with KOL/internal and external stakeholders to collect Base Business project requirements and to contribute in preparing results presentation based on work progress.
  • Analyzing Base Business project requirements and their translation into project inputs, validation, and verification requirements (IOVV).
  • Responsible for ensuring the feasibility of the design and for interaction with manufacturing to transform prototypes into production and to find solutions to potential problems during manufacturing or controlling and proactively thinking in design for manufacturing concept.
  • Responsible for the definition of technical specifications, work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOP), test plans, testing protocols (worst case analysis, FEM analysis), critical analysis of test reports, tolerance analysis, verification protocols for instruments sets, design change modules and implant ROM.
  • Understanding of basic biomechanical principles and basic maneuvers in the operating theater.
  • Responsible for creating the required technical documentation that is required for certification renewals and geographical expansion (product registration in other Countries rather than the ones included in NPD process.

**The Role**

**The Role**

**Short Description**
+ Responsible for product development of socket, high-speed connector, and cable assembly solutions from market definition through production and release:
+ Work closely with the customer and TE sales/SA/FAE/PM in getting the right and clear VOC (voice of customer) and convert to a TE design conceptualization and preliminary product specification.
+ Conceive concepts and perform feasibility studies.
+ Run mechanical and thermal simulations.
+ Make the engineering evaluation/proposal to the customer.
+ Create the detailed design, including 2D/3D drawings, and perform DFMEA/tolerance analysis.
+ Build prototype samples and perform validation.
+ Complete product qualification and finalize product specification.

+ Provide technical support to customers, sales, PM, and plant teams. Conduct necessary DFMEA, tests, engineering analysis, troubleshooting, shooting, and verification.
+ Work with global manufacturing resources, procurement, and outside suppliers to meet all TE technical, quality, and cost objectives.
+ Execute technical documentation to fully detail design drawings and requirements, engineering and product change notices, and design history files.
**What your background should look like:**
+ Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent work experience.
+ Generally requires 5 years of relevant mechanical engineering work experience with electrical components, electrical devices, mechanical structure design, manufacturing tooling development (stamping, molding, assembly, plating), or manufacturing process development.
+ Knowledge in socket design, connector design, cable assembly design, or other relevant mechanical design and development, including but not limited to material selection, tolerance analysis, DFMEA, product qualification, etc.
+ Proficient in 3D CAD applications (Creo preferred) with experience in 3D solid modeling, including sheet metal, 2-D drawings, PDM link Data Manager, and general knowledge in design applications such as Spaceclaim, Solidworks, or others used only in the concept stage.

Job Title/High-Level Position Summary:

Manages a specific product or group of products from product definition and planning through production and release. Responsible for coordinating employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Directs interfaces with central resource in design, process, manufacturing, test, quality, and marketing as the product(s) move to completion and distribution. Manages production support engineering with respect to testing methods, procedures, and problems; device specification and yield problems; redesign of devices; analysis of customer returns; and optimization of device production relative to cost constraints. Serves as adviser to sales force and customers on all matters concerned with designated products. As the AVP, Product Development for Fixed and Fixed Indexed Annuities, you are responsible for driving product discovery, design and development for the business by partnering across various areas of the company as well as externally.
This position will:
- leverage relationships with third parties and internally to drive product discovery and design in respect to new strategies for the product line or new markets
- take the lead in working closely with various teams including pricing, distribution, marketing, legal/state filing, IT and implementation to design & deliver solutions to market
- be responsible for inforce management from a product perspective (non-actuarial)
- assist in developing the short- and long-term product strategy and as such requires situational awareness of the market
If you have a proven record of developing product solutions focused on fixed and fixed indexed annuities or similar solutions as well as a strong understanding of the annuity market and adjacent markets, this position could be for you!
This role requires strategic thinking, strong relationships, and ability to execute effectively. This is not a project manager role.

- Provides specialized expertise to develop, create, implement and execute the business strategy for expansion into new markets while diversifying the business line product portfolio.
- Partners with Management and influences the strategic direction of a competitive product and solution set for new markets and develops the solutions to bring to market.
- Partners with Pricing and Business Line Leaders to analyze product solutions.
- Serves as a contributor to the risk management process across their area of responsibility, analyzing potential impacts to LFG's risk management programs, product pricing, business mix and assets under management.
- Contributes to strategy to expand the pipeline of future products through innovation initiatives, identifying viable solutions in support of the strategic plan to diversify the business line product portfolio.
- Responsible for all aspects of product development including discover, design, develop and deliver.
- Ability to assess the market and adjacent markets to discover solutions for the business and then take those ideas to determine viability for our product portfolio.
- After assessing and discovering solutions for the business, lead the design and develop aspects of the process. This would entail engaging stakeholders and partnering with teams to conduct research.
- Leverages and establishes relationships outside of the company to engage with discover work for the product portfolio.

- 4 Year Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of experience of equivalent work experience
- 10+ Years experience in a similar role in the insurance industry focused on fixed/fixed indexed annuities. (Required)
- Strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of management through clear, informed and logical discussions/presentations.
- Demonstrates ability to communicate knowledgeably and credibly with senior management and internal constituents.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to think critically, analyze information and to evaluate the implications of a course of action or solution.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and implement process improvements.
- Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. senior management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

The pay range for this position is $125,800 - $229,100 with **anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range** and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln's total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln's standard benefits package.
