The Supply Chain team is looking for a Principal Product Manager, as part of the Supply Chain Placement analytics team. You will contribute to defining and building inventory placement success metrics, and finding ways to reduce distance to customers by placing the right items in the right Amazon building in order to increase delivery speed and reduce costs. You will chase defects in our systems, leaving no stone unturned to delight our customers with wider selection. This role will give you a unique view on Amazon systems, process and operations, interacting with planning teams, fulfillment centers and worldwide technical teams. As a Principal Product Manager, youll:- Define strategy by proactively identifying customer needs and looking around corners for business impact opportunities.
- Drive strategic alignment with senior leaders using data and insights through decision narratives and proposals.
- Set multi-year vision and strategy, inspiring annual plans for a team to execute.
- Be the customer voice; always work backwards from customers to guide roadmap prioritization decisions.
- Guide project, science and engineering managers with trade-offs between customer benefit and complexity.
- Own regular business reviews with senior leaders/executives WW.
- Evangelize through training, white papers, and presentations to executives.
Key job responsibilities
You will lead critical large-scale initiatives for inventory placement WW leveraging analytics, systems and complex data management/visualization and presenting those to different levels within the company:
- Design and own the right set of metrics measuring inventory placement performance.
- Work closely with partner teams to align deliverables such as supply chain roadmaps.
- Recommend improvements to the placement strategy using modelling and large datasets. You'll guide planning teams and other relevant stakeholders with regards to the mix of products to place in Amazon buildings, maximizing selection and reducing distance to customers and spinning the Amazon flywheel!
- Pioneer new ideas to increase speed and reduce delivery cost to customers.
- Pilot and implement your recommendation in production through smart configurations in Amazon systems.
- Partner with worldwide technical teams to develop new features.
- Clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, desired outcomes, and progress to cross-functional project teams.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 10+ years of product, program or similar experience.
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition.
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product.
- Experience with cross-functional teams in an ambiguous environment.
- Strong data analysis skills, ability to produce, interpret and draw conclusions from data, including proficiency in SQL and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with history of senior leader interaction.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working directly with senior business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs.
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership.

The base pay for this position ranges from $145,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $240,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. The SCOT Inbound Systems (IS) Placement team seeks a Product Manager to help evolve algorithms that determine how to replenish and re-balance inventory across the Amazon network. The group of algorithms influence how we replenish Sub Same Day FCs, RSR FCs, how we move inventory from Storage and Distribution Nodes to Customer Facing FCs. These systems are set to play a pivotal role in new programs such as Quick Commerce, Cross Border Replenishment.
Key job responsibilities
-Build product roadmap(s) to manage inventory at scale for WW
-The leader would work closely with software developers, scientists, analytics and business teams to get the products developed.
-Envision, define, build and launch data product and features that enable our data systems and stakeholders to uncover new insights and fine-tune operations to meet business goals
-Coordinate feature development across multiple engineering teams to ensure our feature requirements are delivered
-Drive stakeholder efficiencies through feature enhancements and automation that streamline the data analysis and decision-making process
-Learn the needs, pain points and behavior of Retail business & Supply Chain users and develop strong intuition about solutions that will work for them
-Frame and lead discussions with key business and technical stakeholders to assess opportunities, make data-driven recommendations, and build consensus ahead of important investment decisions

The Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT) organization owns Amazon's global inventory management systems: we decide what, when, where, and how much we should buy to meet Amazon's business goals and to make our customers happy. We do this for millions of items, for hundreds of product lines worth billions of dollars of inventory world-wide. Our systems are built entirely in-house, and automate large-scale business, inventory and supply chain planning and optimization systems. We foster new game-changing ideas, creating ever more intelligent and self-learning systems to maximize the efficiency of Amazon's inventory investment and placement decisions.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
- Experience managing technical products or online services
- Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience bridging technical and business teams to collect and refine requirements, prioritize incoming work requests, and ensure all committed work is delivered on time
- Experience performing statistical analysis of data using SQL, Excel and other tools
