In this role, you will be a hands on leader within mechanical assembly, troubleshooting and testing, master scheduling, production planning, shop scheduling, material requirements planning, and work-in-process tracking, ensuring smooth operations from start to finish. You'll play a key role in managing material and labor variance controls, optimizing manufacturing performance, and ensuring the timely and accurate ordering, receipt, and issuance of production materials. **Your Challenge:**
+ Be a hands on leader
+ Works with team to procure, assemble, and test various equipment/tooling
+ Responsible for all the shop activities
+ Supervise shop team and coordinate other team members from engineering, design, services, etc. when shop work includes them
+ Interface with suppliers
+ Inspection and testing activities
+ Troubleshoot issues during production
+ Procurement activities
+ Support engineering/design with production related input
+ Support services-related training activities.
+ Coordinate shop and shop equipment maintenance
+ Supervise shop team OSHA/ safety training
+ Responsible for shop QA Implementation
+ Perform part inspections (dimensional/ visual)
+ Infrequent travel to support equipment production/use
**What You Bring:**
+ Minimum 7+ years related experience
+ Ability to read/interpret mechanical/electrical assembly drawings, part drawings, layouts
+ Knowledge and experience in mechanical/ electrical assembly
+ Equipment functional testing experience (mech/ elect/ hydraulic/ load test)
+ Familiarity with part finishing (paint/ anodize/passive/ electropolish).
+ Ability to achieve level II inspector qualification
+ Ability to gain access to nuclear power facilities
+ Ability to prioritize competing needs in dynamic environment

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS** -
+ Lead the daily management process by identifying issues, resolving productivity problems, and escalating concerns to upper management when necessary.
+ Manage employees including interviewing, hiring, counseling, and discipline.
+ Write and give performance appraisals, organize training and development efforts, and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
+ Utilize a team of 1-3 cell leaders to staff work cells, schedule assignments to ensure quality, maximum output, and meet established goals across multiple shifts.
+ Drive proactive Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, and Engagement improvements.
+ Drive standard work, single piece flow, and support FBS (Fortive Business System) lean manufacturing initiatives.
+ Lead daily and weekly regular communication meetings with direct reports.
+ Work closely with internal customers (assembly, engineering, customer service) to expedite orders and meet customer expectations.
+ Ensure Kanban, kamishibai, Quality Systems Basics audit processes are functioning within department.
+ Reconcile time and attendance program daily. Approve time off.

**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED** **-**
+ Associates degree with 3+ years experience or Bachelors degree.
+ 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or relevant leadership experience
_Knowledge and Skills Required_
+ Experience leading, coaching and motivating large teams (40+).
+ Good verbal and written communication skills required.
+ Familiarity with ERP software and ability to use MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
