Opportunity at a Glance
Collaborating with academic partners, faculty and staff, the Specialist provides strategies and academic reinforcement to students throughout their academic program and as they prepare for success with the NCLEX-RN exam. Working with students individually and in small groups, the Specialist assesses learning styles, identifies strengths, and discovers opportunities for academic development. Specialists create and implement personalized remediation plans for our students as they prepare for academic and professional success. In addition, the Specialist supports all clinical learning lab and simulated patient care learning experiences for students.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitation of simulation-based experiences (SBE) and labs to include equipment maintenance, ordering supplies, set-up and clean-up
  • Demonstrates current, detailed, accurate knowledge of concepts tested by the NCLEX-RN as well as currency in nursing practice to provide academic support
  • o Assists in the creation of Next Generation NCLEX activities/workshops
  • Demonstrates effective behaviors and accountability in meeting the following standards of service excellence to students, fellow team members, and external agencies: Friendliness and courtesy, professional environment, effective communication, and first-class service

The Nurse Residency Program (NRP) Nurse Residency Professional Development & Retention Specialist uses personal expertise, additional subject matter experts from within the system and, when appropriate and feasible, external presenters to meet the educational needs of team members across Wellstar Health Systems. The specialist serves as a resource person and role model for New Grad Nurses and creates a direct connection between individual facility and system educational efforts. He/she promotes evidenced based practice in the integration of Patient-Centered Care practices and guiding principles, and promotes the vision, values and philosophy of Wellstar Health Systems. This individual seeks to influence the professional role, competence, and growth of nurses in a variety of settings, and supports lifelong learning of nurses by fostering an appropriate climate for the adult learning process. He/she assumes a leadership role, provides guidance and knowledge to facilitate professional growth in others, and advances the nursing profession and Nurse Residency Program (NRP).
The person in this role will develop and implement programs and services to support nurses and patient care and evaluate strategies to assure attainment of operational and strategic goals in collaboration with nursing leadership and key stakeholders. They will collect and assemble required data for residency related projects and maintain all records necessary to verify successful completion of residency program. He/she will establish relationships with student nurses, new grad nurses, preceptors, unit leadership, and academic partners to gather and analyze system needs and assess available resources and enact optimal solutions upon consultation and collaboration with key stakeholders. The person in this role will provide additional support to unit-based leadership, nurse externs, preceptors, new grad RN residents, and department committees as assigned.
The Nurse Residency Professional Development & Retention Specialist naturally acts as a transition to practice manager formally or informally by providing an essential stabilizing presence and beneficial interventions for the pre and post licensure nurse to help bridge the expectation-reality gap. Within scope, he/she demonstrates the qualities inherent to nurse residency leadership, such as, educator, administrator, scholar, and evaluator during engagements with nurse externs and nurse residents. The learning environment may be the physical classroom, bedside, and simulation laboratory settings as well as the independent self-directed learning and virtual environments.
The ideal candidate has knowledge and understanding of the ANCC scope and standards of the New Graduate Residency Program and the professional development educator/specialist including knowledge of laws, rules and regulations, standards and guidelines of certifying and accrediting bodies, hospital and department/unit standards, protocols, policies and procedures governing the provision of nursing care applicable to the area of assignment, team dynamics/building and strong interpersonal, written and communication skills.

Job Description Omni Hotel at The Battery Atlanta is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our team. This team member will assist with the management of all functions of the HR department including training, international worker management, employee relations, and recruitment in accordance with Omni standards. The candidate must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills and the ability to train, develop, and motivate associates and managers at all levels. Responsibilities In absence of the Human Resources Director, assumes role & responsibility for the Human Resources Department. Participates in planning and execution of associate events planned by the Human Resources Department. Manage international worker process. Act as liaison to management for all associates. Maintain all personnel files through the weekly filing and logging of all pertinent information and ensure compliance with HR laws and regulations. Answer multi-line telephone within two rings, convey messages and answer simple questions. Support full-cycle recruitment: job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding. Keep a spreadsheet for tracking of required certifications dependent of role. Distribute and explain to candidates the background check policy and the pre-employment drug screening process, if applicable. Maintain spreadsheet with information of who has gone for drug screening. Coordinate with candidate with he/she will come to the HR office to complete the new hire processing and what is needed in order for the processing to go smoothly. Clearly and accurately document all associate issues on a timely basis following counseling and disciplinary procedures. Has some knowledge of benefits administration, benefit and employment law, FMLA, ADA, workers compensation law. Develop and/or participate in Staff Training initiatives, including monthly management training in accordance with the Omni Training Matrix, and departmental service training . Works with loss prevention department to ensure that Safety Training is alive and well in departmental meetings, stand up meetings, and in the consciousness of each hotel associate. Collaborates with loss prevention to ensure timely and accurate incident/accident reporting. Responsible for ensuring proper use of forms, medical services and reporting standards to insurance company. Champions Omni Culture on property, and enthusiastically promotes opportunities within the hotel and company. Manages associate benefit file system to Omni Standard and ensures accurate documented enrollment for all eligible associates. Ensures final clearance and pay check distribution for all terminated associates. Manage HRIS to ensure compliance with applicant flow log, drug testing, I9's,E-Verify, background & reference check, etc. Working with Shared Services team on the international recruiting programs to include petitions and recruiting process Coordinate all Housing for international workers Handle all transportation needs to include airport pick-ups and travel to and from hotel for shifts Track and submit weekly housing rent report for payroll deductions and transportation. Coordination of return of security deposits Complete other duties assigned by management. Qualifications At least 2 years of Human Resources experience is required. International worker (J1/H2B/Work and Travel) experience highly preferred. Prior hotel HR experience preferred. Bilingual in Spanish preferred. The candidate must have knowledge with working with Microsoft Office Products. College Degree required; peferrably in Hospitality or Human Resources Management preferred. Must be flexible with schedule to include some weekends. Must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to coach, counsel, advise, mentor, and motivate associates and managers at all levels. The ability to work in a fast-paced high pressure work environment while executing delegated tasks and assignments Highly motivated self-starter focused on quality, organization, guest service and teamwork. Willing to grow Human Resources, relocation may be required. Willingness to grow professionally and take on new challenges within the organization. Open to relocation based on business needs.
