**Summary:**
The Principal Program Manager will work with the high performing Program team within Vivint SmartHome's Innovation group as they look to deliver innovative and leading services via technology (inc software, hardware, analytics and strategic partnerships). They will work across operational and product / engineering groups to deliver outcomes while contributing to improving the way we work together.
The Principal Program Manager is the lead program team member directly supporting the Engineering Platform lead, being their go to partner for all items relating to program delivery and management / risk and execution for platform related upgrades and optimizations. The Principal Program Manager will represent the program efforts in leadership forums as appropriate.
It is expected the Principal Program Manager spend approximately three quarters of their time working directly on programs within the platform organization as a program manager. The remaining quarter will be leading cross-business improvement initiatives with appropriate sponsorship.
The Principal Program Manager will also support the Platform team by facilitating strategic planning and budgeting for programs working closely with their Engineering partner on the needs to be delivered and what is required to deliver (including how).
The Principal Program Manager will oversee delivery of a set of programs that can be resourced as a single program, or multiple sub-projects within a program depending on size and complexity. They will need to work across Vivint's Innovation Center Teams.
At the fundamental level, the Principal Program Manager's role in Vivint is to lead a broad team and manage scope, budget, schedule, and quality with high order ability to bring people and teams together, identify risks, necessary tradeoffs to maintain program goals and negotiate between those stakeholders to deliver a product that will meet the business goals to delight our customers, provide peace of mind and be business accretive.
**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ OWNERSHIP: Own the plan, schedule and budget for your assigned program and projects. Understand priorities and create clear plans to deliver. Communicate with stakeholders and partners. Set and meet commitments. Set specific release dates and milestones with the team and keep them focused on owning those accountabilities while communicating needs for support or issues that put those at risk.
+ LEADERSHIP: Know Vivint's strategic priorities, and make sure the team's work is aligned to the top priorities. Partner with engineering teams to deliver working solutions. Set schedules and create strong execution plans. Partner with the Product, Engineering, Supply Chain, external partners and Operations team to drive the program. Work across teams to review proposed scope and provide Level of Effort (LOE) estimates as well as suitable tradeoffs for quality and business risk.
+ COMMUNICATION: Create appropriate communications to update the business regularly on status, risks and support needed to be successful. Provide weekly status updates communicating progress towards commitment in terms of scope, schedule, and cost.
+ RISK AND ISSUE MANAGEMENT: Lead the team to identify risks up front, manage and mitigate them and monitor residual risks and any issues that arise. Track tasks and lead a culture of accountability in the team and across the business. Setup excellent change and risk management practices to keep work on track.
+ ADDITIONAL ITEMS FOR PRINCIPAL PROGRAM MANAGER: Represent horizontal overall in matters relating to program delivery, risk, program budgets and strategic planning. Leadership role within horizontal partnering with the Engineering Lead. Leading the process for strategic program planning and budgeting relating to program delivery.
**DAY 2 DAY & TOOLS:**
+ Facilitate and chair relevant program meetings, participate in agile activities, develop communications, and deliver to stakeholders. Hold regular risk reviews and accountability tracking meetings. Work with stakeholders as risks and issues arise. Develop partner relationships and manage performance of partners relating to program delivery. Work with team to monitor and keep program on track or escalate risk and support needed as required.
+ Draw on professional experience of scheduling, risk and task tracking platforms (MS PROJECT, SMARTSHEETS, EXCEL, etc.) as well as content and engineering tracking systems (e.g. JIRA, CONFLUENCE, SHAREPOINT, etc.)
+ A bias to strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills will exist in assessing success in this role along with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment where change and pivots to priorities occur
**ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE:**
+ MATRIX (or CROSS-FUNCTIONAL) STRUCTURE / PRODUCT PORTFOLIO VERTICALS: The program manager's primary relationships and responsibility are to the team they work with on a daily basis but will need to work with and coordinate with the other product portfolio verticals / team to execute on their roadmap and plans.
+ REPORTING LINE: The program roles report up through the Program Management organization for support on methodologies, tools, skill development, escalation and best practices/performance management etc. The Principal Program Manager will report to the Sr Director of Program Management, with a "dotted line" into the Engineering Platform Lead.
+ VIVINT OPERATIONS AND OTHER TEAMS: As required, the Principal Program Manager will assume a broader responsibility for leading the respective programs they own across all of Vivint and interface with representatives or leads from each of the operational units (Supply Chain, Finance, Field Services, Customer Care, IT, Marketing) and relevant channels (Direct to Home, NIS, Retail) to ensure coordinated and aligned product launches and decisions. It is expected that Principal Program Manager Lead role will also be proactive in engaging with leaders across the business to communicate and resolve issues in relation to their program portfolio.
+ EXTERNAL PARTNERS: As required, the Principal Program Manager partners with our supply chain organization (who lead partner/vendor selection, ongoing relationships, commercial agreements, and broader performance) to manage partner performance in relation to their specific program. This will include developing appropriate relationships and accountability mechanisms to monitor status, schedule performance, and risks and issues. In the scenario where a program includes working in partnership with an external channel partner the Principal Program Manager also support sales and teams and develops a relationship with them as it pertains to execution of the program milestones and goals.

**Job Summary**
Responsible for coordinating the schedule, issues, and risks of Key Account Engineering projects by monitoring daily tasks and communication, as well as creating reports and updates for members of management. Serves as a liaison between team members and other functions to get tasks done in a timely manner.
**Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities**
**-** Scheduling and monitoring the daily progress of projects.
**-** Coordinating project schedules, resources, and information.
**-** Liaising with functional leaders to identify and define project requirements, scope and objectives.
**-** Organizing and providing detailed updates to managers and other stakeholders.
**-** Planning meetings and organizing project logistics.
**Nature and Scope**
+ Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies/anomalies in more complex research/data.
+ Nature of work requires increasing independence; receives guidance only on unusual, complex problems or issues. Work review typically involves periodic review of output by a supervisor and/or direct customers of the process.
+ May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level support or professional personnel.
**Work Environment**
+ Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
+ Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
+ Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
**Education and Experience**
+ Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 2-5 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 2-4 years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Prior experience in preparing and interpreting flowcharts, schedules, and step-by-step action plans.
+ Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar.
+ Working knowledge of project management software.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
+ Experience working in an engineering department a plus; Experience in concrete (Pre-cast and tilt-up processes).
+ Exposure to or experience in cross-functional work and outsourcing; Knowledge of shop drawing preparation a plus.

Chart Industries is looking for a **Project Manager** for our office in either **Orem, UT or The Woodlands, TX** . We are open to a **hybrid** schedule for this role. The Project Manager will support our Cryogenic Carbon Capture business and be responsible for all stages of projects from initiation of the contract to job close. The Project Manager oversees the engineering, design and fabrication of awarded contracts.
**_What Will You Do?_**
+ Responsible for all commercial and administrative requirements of Projects
+ Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure that the project progresses on schedule and within the budget
+ Lead the project team and all necessary technical disciplines throughout the project's design, fabrication and as required installation
+ Ability to follow all company procedures with regards to project reporting and client interface including:
+ Financial/Operations Reviews, Project Planning, Procurement Planning, Budgeting, Staffing and Quality Management
+ Work with Project Controls and Quality groups as required to support project and departmental requirements
+ Assist with proposal development and review prior to contract award
+ Provide technical assistance and problem resolution
+ Coordinate project activities in order to comply with all design codes, safety regulations, government and regulatory agencies
+ Review and apply project specifications to engineering, design and fabrication efforts
+ Review, understand and interpret Customer specifications and contract requirements
+ Manage Customer and internal documents through the Document Management System
+ Coordinate material/purchasing requirements, develop requisitions and approve vendor selections
+ Responsible for cost control, cost forecasting, planning/scheduling, change management, and reporting on projects
**_Your Experience Should Be._**
+ B.S. with M.S. or M.A.
+ 10+ years of hands on project management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
+ Experience with cryogenic gas processing projects including natural gas and hydrogen liquefactionand separation and rejection facilities
+ Ability to manage multiple parallel projects
+ Excellent computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Primavera P6 and other project management programs
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving skills
+ Ability to work with minimal supervision
+ Ability to work and succeed in a team environment
+ Experience working in an environment where responsibility and accountability was expected
+ Proven leadership, management, supervisory and organizational skills
+ Excellent customer service skills

As Engineering Project Manager, you will be a critical part of the engineering of Lion Energy’s next of Energy Storage and Portable Power products. From research and design to implementation, you will be on the front lines of product development. You will work cross-functionally with each engineering team, and manage scope, priority, tasks, and more.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

  • - Manage Portable Product tasks, scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines for projects.
  • - Communicate customer requirements, specifications, and budget constraints to cross-functional teams, including engineers, senior management, suppliers, and consultants.
  • - Review daily development schedule and track problem reporting as needed.
  • - Have a general portable product understanding, including batteries, solar generators, solar panels.
  • - Maintain risk registers and opportunity registers, specific to each company product.
  • - Identify and implement process improvements within the company where necessary.
  • - Assess causes of problems and provide technical support and direction to the project team to resolve issues.
  • - Develop status reports, including project financials, ensuring project team is meeting customer requirements and measuring cost control.
  • - Maintain project plan documents, procedures, and project deliverables.
  • - Conduct presentations of technical information concerning specific projects/schedules, etc.
  • - Fill communication gaps between the engineering teams and leadership.
  • - Work hand in hand with Product Managers and Quality Assurance to ensure alignment on strategy and policy.
  • - Assist in the management of larger and future projects/programs.
  • - Recommend changes to policies that may affect another department(s).
  • - May interact with senior management; frequently interact with middle management and individual contributor groups.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • - 3+ years of relevant experience
  • - Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical or electrical), operations, or equivalent training
  • - Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) and ability to effectively communicate with leadership.
  • - Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, and other related tools.
  • - Familiarity with PMP, PRINCE2, A-SPICE, and other frameworks
