To obtain and monitor, by chemical and physical tests, representative samples from the Production Department of raw materials, feed, clinker and cement, and advise them of adjustments to ensure a quality product with a minimum of variations.
WHAT YOULL BE DOING
- Analyze raw mix with X-ray, wet or physical analysis and instruct Raw Grind on change, and assist in solving any problems.
- Monitor clinker production with X-ray or wet analysis and insure quality clinker used in cement production.
- Monitor cement production with X-ray, wet or physical analyses and oversee adjustments to proportions, admixtures, fineness and air content, assist in solving any problems.
- Record accurately and timely, data for use by management and other departments.
- Perform complete ASTM chemical and physical test on daily composite samples to insure product meets strict plant standards.
- Perform periodic calibration and preventive maintenance checks on all equipment and maintain chemical solutions.
- Run proficiency samples against other labs.
- Take inventories of gypsum and admixtures.
- Perform microscopic evaluation of cement and clinker.
- Run heat content on calorimeter.

Perform inspections/test of Printed Circuit Boards and Cable/Wire Harness.
Will provide inspection support in the areas of incoming quality control, internal first articles and in-process inspections in various production areas.
- Inspect PCB Boards and wire harnesses to assure conformance to engineering/Customer drawings and/or other documentation.
- Document inspection results using manual and computer-based systems.
- Generate Material Non-Conformance reports for items not meeting specifications.
- Interface with personnel within the quality department regarding work assignments and priorities.
- Interface with personnel in engineering, manufacturing, and sales to resolve any issues relating to specifications or non-conformances.
- Other duties as assigned by the department lead, supervisor or manager.
Qualifications
Previous experience in Printed Circuit Board inspection and Wire Harness
Visual Inspection Skills under microscope or inspection tools to verify that a product is free of defects before installation in the next level of assembly or final distribution to the customer.
Hands-on experience with common inspection tools such as:
- Micrometers, calipers, Multimeter.
- Reading and interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications.
- Computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience in use of and/or programming of automated inspection tools, such as vision inspection systems.
- Experience working in an ISO 9001 manufacturing environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent (two years of college preferred)
- OR, 3 to 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment as a quality control inspector/technician.
- (Required) IPC Certified Quality Inspector.
Working Conditions & Safety Concerns:
Operates inspection/test equipment in a shop floor manufacturing environment. Works at a PC station as needed. Assists manufacturing personnel on the floor as needed. QC Inspector/Technician is responsible for ensuring that the product is within quality standards and specifications. This includes, but is not limited to, maintaining quality and safety standards; visual inspections measurements and functional testing of the product; recording data/test results to validate conformance; and assisting with quality related reports, reviews, and audits as needed.
