Position Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist in preparation/implementation of quality control program, including but not limited to; procedures, inspection instructions, the control of measurement and testing equipment
  • Participate in internal/external quality control audits
  • Assist in reviewing purchase and submittal documents to ensure compliance with quality control requirements
  • Assist in resolution of reported project non-conformance issues
  • Monitor subcontractor work to ensure compliance with company standards, procedures and codes, when applicable
  • Ensure timely and successful implementation of corrective measures
  • Assist in and document commissioning processes
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned

The Manager, Quality Assurance and Quality Control for Leica Biosystems Richmond is responsible for providing leadership and support of daily quality operations including QC finished goods and raw material inspection program, QA product release, nonconformance workflows, CDT&R, and calibration.
This position reports to the Director, Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance responsible for ensuring that the business, product, and processes meet all Quality and Regulatory standards and requirements. This position is part of the Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance department located in Richmond, Illinois and will be onsite.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
+ Hire, develop, engage, and retain highly capable QA and QC team members, ensuring that each associate is meeting performance requirements and that each critical position has an identified successor with a targeted and robust development plan.
+ Oversee inspection and product release activities as well as CDT&R, and develop key strategies to support future business success.
+ Coach the team on how to effectively manage and anticipate changing needs for resources and how to flex resource allocation in the face of changing circumstances, including notifying stakeholders and recommending countermeasures to ensure that cross-functional teams and projects are staffed with qualified and skilled QA and QC associates and business needs are met.

+ 3+ years of experience in a QC/QA role, ideally within construction, manufacturing, or modular building sectors.
+ Knowledge of building codes and standards (e.g., IBC, NEC, IPC, state modular codes).
+ Experience performing inspections and quality tests in a manufacturing or construction environment.
+ Strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
+ Proficiency in quality documentation, checklists, and reporting systems.
+ Ability to read and understand regulatory requirements across different U.S. states.
**Additional Preferred Skills -**
+ Familiarity with state-specific modular construction certification programs.
+ Experience with commercial construction projects (restaurants, retail, food service).
+ Certification in quality control (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Inspector, ICC Certifications) is a plus.
