The Position
The Quality Inspection Technician is responsible for performing incoming and in-process inspection of components and assemblies under the direction of the Quality Lead. Technician releases incoming or in-process materials for use and initiates non-conformances for follow up and resolution. Performs a variety of task, including First Article Inspections, Receiving inspections, In-process Inspections, and equipment and fixture inspection/qualification. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•Read drawings, instructions, inspection and manufacturing documentation to inspect components and assemblies used to manufacture medical devices.
•Under direction of Quality Lead, select output samples and check them using appropriate methods (measuring dimensions, testing functionality, comparing to specifications etc.)
•Perform inspection of in-process materials and release of assembled medical devices.
•Perform First Article Inspections
•Completing manufacturing and inspection documentation.
•Documenting and notifying supervisor and engineering of product discrepancies.
•Responsible for NCMR creation and follow up to closure.
•Maintaining inspection and nonconformance records for trending analysis.
•Follow cGMP and ISO requirements.
•Complete equipment and fixture qualification and preventive actions under the direction of the Quality Lead.
•Responsible for assisting with inventory moves within receiving inspection, MRB and tracking traceability as needed.
•Maintain the receiving work area, documentation, and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
Requirements
- 2+ years of Quality Inspection experience in a medical device or similar regulated environment (e.g. aeronautical)
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Demonstratable knowledge of GMP processes/procedures
- Basic computer skills with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Ability to use and understand statistical sampling plans.
- Ability to use and understand geometrical dimensional tolerancing
- Ability to use precision measuring devices such as calipers, pin gauges, micrometer, and height gage.
- Manual dexterity and hand- eye coordination needed to inspect medical devices, subassemblies and components.
- Ability to perform unaided and microscopic visual inspection.
- Some lifting to 40 lbs.
- Capability to use equipment such as microscope, mechanical and electrical assembly tooling & fixtures, adhesive dispenser, tweezers, crimpers, cutters and hand tools.

+ Conducts routine and non-routine analysis of raw materials, in-process items and finished product according to established operating procedures, calibrating and maintaining lab and analytical equipment

+ Makes recommendations for corrective action necessary to ensure conformity with quality specifications and develops testing and analysis methods and procedures in accordance with established guidelines and revises and updates standard operating procedures as needed
+ Provides technical support to the quality assurance and quality engineering functions by conducting inspections on products, materials, components, parts, etc., at various stages of the production process
+ Reads and interprets complicated blueprints and specifications, including customer and vendor specifications, determining unstated or hidden dimensions from a blueprint, using fractions, decimals, and trigonometry; uses mechanical and electrical measuring tools
+ Uses magnifiers, electronic instruments, calipers, micrometers, snap gauges, HIPOT, automated electrical equipment, and special fixtures and verifies calibration against standards
+ Develops and assesses alternative methods to achieve uniform quality including identifying process variables
+ Performs critical first-piece inspections and authorizes commencement of production
+ Sorts materials and/or marks defects for repairs
+ Inspections may require measurement to close tolerance requiring sensitive touch or judgment

High-Level Position Summary :
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Quality Inspection Manager to join our team. The incumbent leads inspection and inspection support teams in Houston office. Work closely with supply chain, planning, and quality engineering teams on incoming, in-process, and final inspection needs of the business. Focus on reducing inspection burden while ensuring high product quality.
Key Responsibilities : The following are the primary duties and responsibilities of this role. Other related duties may be assigned to meet the business need.
Supervise inspection personnel and formulate strategy to increase efficiency in Quality Control

In the role of Supervisor, Quality Inspection, you'll play a pivotal part on our Production team. 5.Formulate and maintain quality assurance objectives and coordinate objectives with production procedures, in cooperation with the management team to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
6.Prepare Drawing Change Requests on nonconforming issues.
7.Participate in the Material Review Board as needed.
8.Analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.
9.Investigate customer complaints regarding quality.
10.Select products/materials for tests at various stages in the production process, and test products in such areas as: dimensions, performance, mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics.
11.Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams and confer with management and/or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
12.Audit production areas to verify parts are organized and labeled

Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. College/University degree or Certificate from a technical school preferred
Experience: Minimum of six (6) years' experience as an inspector in a quality control or inspection department. Minimum of two (2) years leadership experience.
Computer Skills:
-Basic knowledge Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Other Skills:
-Effective oral and written communications skills
-Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and assignments with attention to detail
-Problem solving, well organized, detailed oriented and accurate.
-Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in working with ISO, Boeing, Airbus, FAA, CAA regulations

-Proficiency in the use of measuring equipment, such as tape measures, micrometers and calipers
-Ability to measure angles
-Understanding of basic algebra and geometry
-Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations, and problems arising from managing a group of individuals
-Ability to work with minimal supervision and direction
-Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in interpreting Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
-Understanding of processes in SPS manual

The expected salary range for this position is between $68,640 - 106,900 USD. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, and other factors permitted by law.
