The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for attracting and hiring top talent into the organization through creative recruiting strategies and effective management of the selection process. This position performs full-cycle recruiting for assigned business unit/positions and works to promote the Company's brand throughout the retail industry. The Talent Acquisition Specialist plays an important role in building an entry-level talent pool that can be utilized to fill future positions in an efficient and effective manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage assigned job openings on internal and external job search websites, ensuring compliance with Company policy, state, and federal laws.
- Review inbound applications to identify qualified applicants.
- Utilize job boards & advertisements, LinkedIn recruiter, cold calling, personal network, etc. to source qualified candidates for open positions.
- Conduct in-depth phone screens and assess potential candidates for level of interest, qualifications and salary expectations.
- Schedule and coordinate in-person and TEAMS interviews for candidates and hiring managers.
- Create, send, collect, and file offer letters in compliance with State and Federal law for positions as needed.
- Act as backup support via phone, email and TEAMS for any recruiting, onboarding or ATS related questions and partner with the HRIS team as needed for next level support to see issues resolved to completion.
- Provide backup monitoring for Careers inbox and voicemail daily.
- Facilitate in-person onboarding (including I-9 verification) at the Store Support Center and communicate relevant information to new hires prior to their first day.
- Monitor and ensure all background checks for external candidates (of assigned positions) have been completed and partner with People Operations team for any discrepancies.
- Run weekly open position reporting (including time-to-fill) and communicate results with team leadership and assigned hiring managers.
- Collects & documents all needed approvals to open new corporate requisitions.
- Partners with TA Coordinator and IT Team to ensure all corporate new hire desk & equipment are prepared in advance of new hire's first day.
- Prepares and sends weekly guest list to receptionist.
- Assist with annual Internship program (hiring & candidate management, event coordination and communication with relevant parties).
- Assist Talent Acquisition Team in hiring events as needed.
- Assist with data entry, administrative and employer branding projects as assigned.
- Demonstrates high level of quality work, attendance and appearance.
- Demonstrates high degree of professionalism in communication, attitude and teamwork with customers, peers and management.
- Adhere to all local, federal and state laws in addition to Company policies, procedures, and practices.
- Performs any other duties that may be assigned by management.
- Strong communication, customer service, time management and organizational skills
- Minimum 1-2 years of recruiting experience (including sourcing candidates, phone screening, conducting in-person interviews and extending offers)
- Experience negotiating offers and general understanding of benefits programs a plus
- 1+ years of Applicant Tracking System and/or HRIS system experience
- 1+ years of administrative and customer service experience
- Excels in building relationships with others quickly
- Previous experience in a retail setting is preferred, but not required
- Strong systems proficiency; intermediate level of experience with Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to think creatively outside of the box
