Bay Disposal is seeking a dedicated and safety-focused Commercial Driver to join our Hauling team. This position is based in Norfolk, VA .
If you have experience in waste management, that would be a significant advantage!
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safely operate a garbage truck on designated routes to collect solid waste. Experience in waste collection is preferred , but not mandatory.
Follow route sheets and provide service to each customer listed or as directed by the dispatcher.
Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles including checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
Perform physically demanding tasks such as loading and unloading waste, sometimes without assistance.
Utilize hydraulic controls to lift, load refuse, and dispose of waste at assigned facilities.
Engage politely with customers and handle other related duties as necessary.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Requires extensive physical activity, including heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling of objects over 50 pounds.
Exposure to various physical risks, necessitating adherence to basic safety protocols.
Work outdoors in all weather conditions, with exposure to noise, fumes, and vibrations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Valid Class A CDL with an air brakes endorsement is required.
Minimum of 2 years of driving experience, with a stable work history, preferred in a driving role.

As a vital member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and safe delivery of containers to customer locations. Your role will involve maintaining excellent customer relationships while adhering to all safety standards.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Safely operate a commercial truck equipped with a patented lift mechanism to load and unload containers.
- Conduct thorough daily pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and lift.

- Utilize a company-issued handheld computer for delivery confirmations and navigation.
