This position collects, analyzes, reviews and reports data related to the study of misclassification fraud impacts; performs research and analysis of the costs of misclassification and impacts on misclassified workers, government programs, and tax collections; ensures adequate documentation for future replication of the legislatively mandated report; and performs various research tasks for projects, reports, data requests and surveys conducted by the Research and Data Analytics team, as assigned.
This position is temporary full-time for up to 2 years.
**Minimum Qualifications**
Two (2) years of experience* in research, data management, analysis, or statistical reporting.
*A Bachelor's Degree in Research, Statistics, Economics, or Math may substitute for one year of professional experience; an Associate's degree in Research, Statistics or Math may substitute for six months professional experience.
Experience should demonstrate:
+ Research skills sufficient to analyze requests, define needs, develop objectives and determine the resources needed to produce reports.
+ Statistical techniques sufficient to determine the research methodology to be used for major program studies.
+ Writing, editing and troubleshooting code such as SPSS, SAS, SQL or other programs.

**What's the Job?**
The purpose of this position is to conduct studies in higher education research and forecast trends by determining the methodology, monitoring overall institutional performance, and making recommendations for major program studies under limited procedural control and supervision. This position will direct and manage the development, implementation, methodology, and analysis of standardized surveys, benchmarking data projects, and federal reporting requirements. This position will lead accreditation, assessment, and course evaluation for Institutional Research, Analytics, & Effectiveness, including understanding the respective data and reporting needs, optimizing utilization of data collection and aggregation tools, and creating and implementing data management plans. This position will be responsible for designing databases, reports, and data visualizations and replicable, documented processes to capture and share information including survey creation and data analysis. This position is responsible for data and information for accountability mandates, publications, and key performance indicators for continuous quality improvement. This position also provides technical advice and assistance to professional co-workers including faculty, deans, Student Affairs units, and others, coaching their utilization of data and statistical research to inform their program improvement. **PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTS**
1. **Manage database creation, utilization and reporting for institutional, divisional and program continuous quality improvement.**
+ Develop databases and conduct analysis for continuous quality improvement including benchmarking, and federal reporting.
+ Lead the planning and administration of standardized surveys including CCSSE, SENSE, SSI, and PACE, and benchmarking projects including VFA and NCCBP; coordinate dissemination and use of these data to inform college, divisional and department improvements.
+ Provide quantitative (enrollment, persistence, completion, course success, grades, and survey data) and qualitative (focus groups, interviews, and survey data) data analytics for continuous quality improvement efforts.
+ Collect, organize and manage data from ISRS, EMP 11, and other databases.
+ Generate data and data-based reports as requested by stakeholders and based on the broad needs of Institutional Research and the College by querying against Minn State's ISRS operational warehouse.
+ Coordinate and perform research activities while understanding the concepts, outcomes, and processes associated with each request.
+ Prepare and present high quality written documents and reports including statistical analysis of research data, clear and concise narrative interpretations as well as recommendations for continuous improvement.
+ Lead data analysis and reporting to support the college's committees.

As a member of the Quantitative Research and Analytics group (QRA) at Capital Group (CG), youll conduct rigorous peer-reviewed, quantitative research and analysis. As an Analyst in RAM, you will work in a highly collaborative team to drive our investment risk research, strengthen our risk assessment framework, enhance scenario analysis capabilities, and provide actionable risk insights that empower investment leaders. In this role you will:
Drive Risk Research & Analysis - Develop and enhance risk methodologies and frameworks, monitoring processes, and portfolio risk assessments across equity, fixed income, and multi-asset strategies.
Deliver Actionable Insights - Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses to inform investment risk decisions, proactively identifying new ways to evaluate risk.
Influence Risk Oversight & Investment Process - Work closely with investors and investment governance bodies to understand and incorporate risk metrics and methodologies in the Capital System TM.
Drive Innovation & Collaboration - Partner with business management teams, client group, and technology teams to develop tools, frameworks, and strategic initiatives that advance risk capabilities.
Enhance Risk Transparency & Alignment - Represent Capital Groups risk practices in internal and external meetings, educate stakeholders on risk methodologies, and ensure alignment with industry standards.
Lead & Develop the Team - Act as a thought leader within RAM and the larger Quantitative Research & Analytics team (QRA), stay up to date with academic and industry research, mentor colleagues and drive organizational growth.

You have a minimum of 10 years relevant experience in investment risk research, analysis and modeling.
You hold an advanced degree (MFE, MSc, PhD) in Economics, Finance/Financial Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics or a related quantitative discipline.
You are an expert researcher with a track record of innovation around quantitative risk research, who is comfortable exploring unsolved questions and exploring in new directions with discipline of thought and clarity of purpose.
You have demonstrated strong risk modeling experience and empirical skills using investment risk analytical platforms (e.g. MSCI BarraOne, BlackRock Aladdin), statistical packages (e.g. R) and coding languages (e.g. Python).
You are clear and strategic thinker who can anticipate emerging risks and translate complex analysis into clear, actionable recommendations.
You are a collaborative leader who thrives in agile cross-functional teams and can influence stakeholders at all levels.
You are a creative problem solver with a proactive approach, always looking for new ways to enhance risk analysis.
