What you'll do on a typical day:
+ Review inspection reports to identify potential issues
+ Conduct inspections of shipments on the dock utilizing handheld devices
+ Review BOL and billing descriptions to verify accuracy
+ Gather information related to the shipment, including dimensions, pictures, and commodity characteristics
+ Research commodity information using the National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC) for applicable description and class
+ Issue document corrections based on the applicable provisions from the NMFC
+ Upload documents/pictures into the image system for review
+ Maintain the reports necessary to measure corrections activity and revenue recovery
Weights & Research Inspectors are required to:
+ Lift objects of various shapes, sizes and weights frequently up to 50 lbs. and occasionally greater than 75 lbs.

The department maintains a robust portfolio of research that is made up of basic, translational, health services, and clinical projects. External research funding for the current fiscal year is approximately $46M, and we submit roughly 200 new proposals each year. Our funding comes from many different funding sources, including the National Institutes of Health, Department of Defense, foundations, professional societies, and industry sources. We are seeking a dynamic person to lead the Surgery Research Office (SRO). The SRO is a centralized office that provides research administration and facilities management support to all seven sections within the department. In partnership with the Vice Chair for Research and the Chief Department Administrator, the incumbent will direct the activities of a 12-person team that is dedicated to providing outstanding support for grant submissions, post award accounting, research facilities management, and research procurement. Responsibilities* Operations Management Manage day-to-day operations of a centralized pre-award and post-award office, research procurement, and research space and facilities which includes directoversight of 12 staff. Protects the institution by assuring that proposals and awards are in compliance with, federal, state, agency and institution policies of grants and contracts. Manages the review of grant and contract awards terms and conditions. Train and supervise staff in departmental proposal submission, award management, policy and procedures, research procurement, and space and facilities. Function as a technical resource and advisor on financial and regulatory issues to faculty and staff. Provide leadership, advice, and guidance regarding financial and administrative policies and procedures. Approve proposals and financial transactions. Assist with organization of annual research conference. Oversee the maintenance of the research website and provide monthly research updates for departmental newsletter. **POSITION PURPOSE**
+ Registered Nurse opportunity as a Clinical Oncology Research Nurse within the Michigan Cancer Research Consortium (MCRC) Leadership Team.
+ This is a Full-Time Benefited position scheduled 40 hours per week. Standard hrs is 8am-4:30 with flex time possible into evening hours for after-hrs infusion and sample collection
+ MCRC is a multi-state consortium of community hospitals offering both federally funded and pharmaceutical sponsored oncology research trials in community hospitals. MCRC has been continuously funded for over 20 years through the National Cancer Institute (NCI)and currently is funded as an NCI Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP).
+ The person accepting this position will coordinate clinical patient care for a wide variety of oncology research trials. Research nurses work with a dynamic team of researchers at Trinity Health Southeast Michigan sites and others across the country. **WHAT YOU WILL DO**
+ Provides day-to-day management of an assigned portfolio of clinical research studies and clinical trials.
+ Provides direction and collaborates with research coordinators and other research support staff.
+ Recruits and screens potential study participants.
+ Makes referrals to in-house or community professionals and serves as a clinical resource to research patients, investigators, and other staff.
+ Analyzes and evaluates clinical data to be able to trend events for patient safety. Recognizes and reports potential adverse events in cooperation with the investigators and principal investigator.
+ Acts as patient advocate between the investigator, clinical departments and the cooperative groups.
+ Collects data, assists in developing data collection systems, and compiles reports.

**MINIUMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Current Michigan Nursing License
+ Graduation from accredited nursing program: BSN Required.

The Assistant Director for Research & User Services:
  • Manages and supervises the Research & User Services Unit including:
    • Supervising full-time staff and librarians;
    • Recommending staffing levels (librarian, paraprofessional, and student) and work schedules; hiring, training, evaluating and supervising those who work in the Unit;
    • Directing and coordinating the work of the Unit;
    • Setting Unit policies and procedures and coordinating work with other units and sub-units;
    • Keeping abreast of and utilizing current technologies and trends that anticipate, meet or exceed the research needs of the Law Library's primary users;
    • Incorporating traditional library technology and librarianship skills and advancing the use of emerging technologies.
  • Establishes unit and inter-unit policies and procedures, ensures unit effectiveness, resolves unit and inter-unit problems and answers questions from other units relating to the specialized functions of the Unit.
  • Ensure the successful performance of the following specialized functions:
    • Reference and information services. This includes coordinating and supervising the management of the Reference/Information Desk and the Reading Room Desk.
    • Faculty Research Service.
    • Library Entrance Station.
    • Research instruction and orientation sessions for new and visiting faculty, student journals, and others.
    • Research consultations for students, researchers, faculty, and other library users.
    • Overseeing, assigning, and supervising work on creating research guides, online tutorials, and other content for the Law Library's website.
    • Coordinating student and faculty outreach and public relations initiatives related to services, including newsletters, orientation events, and exam events.
