The Role We seek a Research Lead to lead client-facing research under the Applied Research organization. This role is pivotal in providing deep quantitative expertise to top DeFi protocols and ecosystems including Uniswap, Near and Movement on how they can grow, optimize, and de-risk mechanisms within their various system. This person will lead a team of researchers to analyze on-chain and off-chain data, develop models, and provide actionable insights into the rapidly evolving crypto and Web3 ecosystem. This role requires deep expertise in blockchain analytics, quantitative research, statistical modeling, and strong leadership skills to drive data-driven decision-making and the ability to interface directly with clients. Responsibilities Own multiple clients by developing research roadmaps and managing the team responsible for executing these roadmaps at a high-quality bar. Support, grow, and develop a team of high-performing researchers capable of tackling DeFi's most complex problems. Perform in-depth mechanism design and research to develop the next generation of DeFi mechanisms and patterns. Develop predictive models, statistical analyses, and machine learning algorithms to extract insights into blockchain and market data. Work with large-scale structured and unstructured datasets, ensuring data integrity and efficient processing. + Proven history of independently designing and implementing new LC-MS methods for the analysis of target analytes in complex matrices, including selecting appropriate columns, mobile phases, ionization techniques, and mass spectrometry parameters.

Compensation
In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The Tracking Systems and Application Section provides world-leading capability and expertise in a wide range of technologies that are critical to spacecraft tracking and related applications. The Section supports algorithm development, calibration and validation of NASA's satellite altimeter missions as well as NASA's deep-space missions by providing to the JPL navigators unique and extremely precise radiometric sources and data types. The Section provides the Deep Space Network (DSN) with precision atomic frequency and time references and distribution systems. The Section also delivers to JPL navigators a host of other products that are required for deep space navigation such as celestial and terrestrial reference frame coordinates, Earth orientation parameters, and calibrations to account for the effects of the Earth's troposphere and ionosphere on radiofrequency metric tracking data-types.
For terrestrial and near-Earth users the Section offers the highest accuracy Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS)-based positioning and timing products and services. The Section also performs extensive scientific investigations using its technologies in the areas of planetary dynamics, astrophysics, astrometry and radio astronomy, gravitational waves, geophysics, and fundamental physics.
**Responsibilities:**
You will be a Research Technologist in the Near-Earth Tracking Applications (NETA) Group leading and undertaking innovative research and development in algorithms, calibration, and validation of NASA's satellite altimeter missions, including, but not limited to the Jason and Sentinel-6 series, SWOT, and CRISTAL. Work in teams to lead and contribute to research and development of science data system algorithms and calibration/validation activities for the suite of JPL-supported altimetry missions: Jason-1, Jason-2, Jason-3, Sentinel-6, SWOT, and CRISTAL missions. Contribute to the end-to-end calibration and validation of each component of the measurement system and the science data products for these missions. Apply established approaches, and contribute to the development of novel approaches, for calibration and validation of satellite altimeter measurement systems to identify and mitigate errors in those systems. Lead analyses of pulse-limited and synthetic aperture radar data, and development of novel algorithms to process those data. Lead routine quality control, calibration and validation of science data products for these missions. Lead publications in the peer-reviewed literature, as well as presentations at professional society and altimetry mission science team meetings. Develop and contribute to proposals to support related research activities. Use skills in Python and C++ to develop new, or maintain existing, satellite altimeter measurement system calibration and validation tools.
**Required Skills:**
+ Bachelors degree in Engineering, Math, Physics, or related technical subject area with typically a minimum of 9 years of related experience; or a Master's degree in similar subject areas with a minimum of 7 years of related experience; or PhD in similar subject areas with a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
+ Experience in one or more of the following related fields: satellite altimetry data processing and analysis, synthetic aperture radar data processing and analysis, Kalman filtering.
+ Experience with the development of algorithms to process raw pulse-limited and/or Synthetic Aperture Radar instrument data.
+ Experience in one or more of the following related fields: numerical analysis, data analysis, mathematical modeling, estimation theory, probability/statistics, linear algebra, large dataset analysis.
+ Analysis of scientific data from space science missions
+ Knowledge of applicable industry and/or academic practices and standards in Python and/or C++ programming languages.
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills.
+ Ability to work in large teams.
**Desired Skills:**
+ Experience developing data analysis software packages and analyzing global data sets.
+ Experience performing calibration and validation in satellite altimetry.

**The Role**
We are looking for a Research Engineer with strong software engineering skills and a keen interest in AI, who thrives in experimental, interdisciplinary environments.
As a Research Engineer, you will work with senior scientists, artists, and engineers to implement and evaluate prototypes based on generative AI and intelligent agent concepts. Your role will focus on technical execution, software development, model training, integration, and prototyping within a fast-paced R&D environment.
This role will report to the Associate Lab Director and contribute to the AI/ML applied research portfolio at Disney Research Imagineering.

**What You Will Do**
+ Implement and support prototypes of generative AI tools and intelligent agents for creative and technical tasks (e.g., visual synthesis, simulation, asset generation, design assistance).
+ Develop and maintain software pipelines that integrate AI models into real-time environments (e.g., Unity, Unreal) or design toolchains (e.g., Figma, Houdini, Blender).
+ Collaborate with researchers to translate conceptual models and experimental algorithms into working code and functional systems.

**Required Qualifications & Skills**

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $138,900 to $186,200 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
