Job Highlights- Provide care to patients on assigned unit under the direction of a Registered Nurse
- Perform tasks such as vital signs monitoring, 12-Lead EKGs, bladder ultrasounds, blood glucose checks, Foley catheter and IV adapter removal, specimen collection, and assisting with bathing, feeding, turning, and ambulating patients
- Assist with patient admissions, preparation for discharge, and implementing patient-specific care plans
- Maintain hourly rounding, assist with safety protocols, and provide emotional support to patients
- Ensure a safe environment for patients and deliver a positive, high-quality experience
Candidate Profile
- Current CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required
- Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program or at least one nursing clinical rotation is preferred
- 1+ year of relevant experience in a medical office is required
- Must have basic computer proficiency for charting and patient documentation
- Relevant soft skills include interpersonal skills, prioritization, collaboration, and ability to follow directions

Monitor the comfort of hospitalized patients. ResponsibilitiesThe Patient Care Assistant II (PCA II) is a certified person who performs direct care in the department setting. The PCA II maintains a current certification in patient care and is responsible to assist patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the RN as long as the activity does not distract from primary responsibility for dysrhythmia monitoring.
QualificationsEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Current Certification in Patient Care required (M.A. / CNA / EMT / Paramedic / Patient Care Tech, etc.).
3. Current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate upon hire and maintain current preferred.
4. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
5. Six months previous experience as Monitor Technician, preferred.
6. Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
7. Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
8. Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
9. Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office, preferred.
Facility Specific Requirements (facility may require items listed below):
1. Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintain current per facility requirement.

This is a full continuum of care cardiothoracic advanced practice provider positions with an estimated 50%+ operating room, First assist with all open heart cases, Endoscopic Vein Harvesting on CABG patients AND rounding on all the inpatients. In addition, there are some outpatient duties; see postop patients in the outpatient clinic, Refill medications and facilitate outpatient orders if needed, debride wounds if needed and Schedule surgery for patients who have been seen in the office as new consults and are deemed surgical candidates
Qualifications :
- Candidate must be proficient in Endoscopic Vein Harvesting
- Cardiac Surgery First Assisting experience
