- Schedule: 7 pm-7:30 am, alternating 2, 12-hour shift one week and 1, 12-hour shift the following week, every other weekend and rotating holidays.

Responsibilities
The Patient Care Assistant II (PCA II) is a certified person who performs direct care in the department setting. The PCA II maintains a current certification in patient care and is responsible to assist patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the RN as long as the activity does not distract from primary responsibility for dysrhythmia monitoring.
Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Current Certification in Patient Care required (M.A. / CNA / EMT / Paramedic / Patient Care Tech, etc.).
3. Current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate upon hire and maintain current preferred.
4. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
5. Six months previous experience as Monitor Technician, preferred.
6. Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
7. Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
8. Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
9. Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician's office, preferred.
Facility Specific Requirements (facility may require items listed below):
1. Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintain current per facility requirement.

- Processes long term care insurance claims and Veteran's Assistance claims.
- Orders office supplies for the department.
- Compiles and maintains various master lists and systems, resident listings, resident directories, staff home phone numbers, resident away list, etc.
- Oversees getting the proper access for all new hires, including working with the IT company and LCS Support Center.
- Conducts new client chart audits.
- Coordinate special projects, as requested.
- Attends meetings and takes minutes, as requested.
- Provides personal care and assistance to the residents in their apartments or homes, as needed.
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Illinois notary certification or must obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Current first aid and CPR certification or must obtain within 3 months of hire.
- Must have strong customer service skills and passion for working with older adults.
- Computer literacy required; Proficiency in word processing and computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, and Excel).
- Basic mathematical skills required.
- Ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.
- Ability to use office equipment, such as copy/fax/scan machine.
- Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisors, and peers while assessing resident or other complaints and resolve disputes in a friendly and professional manner.

In addition, there are some outpatient duties; see postop patients in the outpatient clinic, Refill medications and facilitate outpatient orders if needed, debride wounds if needed and Schedule surgery for patients who have been seen in the office as new consults and are deemed surgical candidates

- Cardiac Surgery First Assisting experience
