+ Process Safety Information & Process Hazard Analysis (PHA): Develop, consolidate, and maintain process safety information. Conduct PHA studies per stated scope, purpose, and objectives, ensuring timely resolution and documentation of all recommendations.
+ Pre-Startup Safety Review & Mechanical Integrity: Conduct pre-startup safety reviews to ensure modifications are installed according to approved design standards, develop new procedures prior to the start-up of modified facilities, and ensure all personnel are trained on the procedures. Identify and maintain the equipment list, plan, schedule, record, and manage inspection and testing of equipment according to good engineering practices. Establish and implement quality assurance procedures for mechanical integrity activities.
+ Hot Work Permit: Manage the hot work permit process, designating individuals authorized to approve hot work.
+ Other Responsibilities: Conduct incident investigations, emergency response planning, compliance audits, hazard assessments, and track accident history.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Process Safety Specialist is responsible for the implementation, management, and continuous
improvement of the Process Safety Management (PSM) programs at the Veolia WTS Beaumont
site, in accordance with CFR 1910.119.This position will also support compliance with EPAs Risk

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 3-4 years of progressive Process Safety Management (PSM) experience
  • Knowledge of OSHA PSM and EPA RMP regulatory requirements
  • Experience writing MOCs, participating in PHAs, leading RCAs, and leading PSSRs
  • Understanding of chemical plant processes and process hazards, including flammability, toxicity, reactivity, corrosivity, etc.
  • Initiative to drive continuous improvement in process safety management programs
  • Experience in conducting process safety training
  • Understanding of risk assessment and process hazard analysis processes
  • Fluent in English, with strong oral and written communication skills to interpret EPA, OSHA, and other regulations and liaise with a variety of stakeholders

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

POSITION OVERVIEW
