**Job Summary**
Review, evaluate, and analyze work environments and design programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury caused by chemical, physical, and biological agents or ergonomic factors. May conduct inspections and enforce adherence to laws and regulations governing the health and safety of individuals
Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and the process by which to meet goals. Provides direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities** may include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
+ Responsible for managing the development, planning and implementation of company industrial safety programs.
+ Oversees the development, planning and implementation of environmental, health and safety policies and procedures (chemical safety, ergonomics, illness and injury prevention and building safety) within the company.
+ Plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
+ Coordinates company Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Safety Committee. Provides protection for personnel and company property.
+ Conducts periodic on-site facility audits to check for compliance with OSHA guidelines.
+ Investigates root causes of accidents and prepares reports with the findings and corrective actions.
+ Prepares and facilitates the safety training program.
+ May administer a safety incentive program.
+ Daily availability to include evenings and weekends when necessary to reach goals and deadlines.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. **Job Summary**
Responsible for the development and implementation of policies, procedures and programs to ensure the Environment Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EHS&S) compliance of the. facility
Collaborate on the development and support rollout of corporate programs as related to implementation at the facility. Lead and manage site EHS&S audits in collaboration with site management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Develop and implement policies and procedures targeted toward increasing the safety and protection of the environment for the businesses.
+ Ensure facility compliance with applicable environment health and safety regulations.
+ Implement site audit program of the EHS&S compliance of the site, track and report status of corrective actions, and alerting senior management to developing problems where intervention or oversight is required.
+ Participate in site leadership as a member of the site Leadership Team and conduct reviews at appropriate intervals with facility senior management.
+ Consult with site management and employees on Federal, State, and Local regulatory compliance related issues. Work with site facility management to ensure proper training programs are established with regards to environmental and health and safety compliance.
+ Responsible for timely submission of environmental reports and permits to local, state and federal regulatory agencies.
+ Work with site Leadership and Site/Global Procurement to develop cost savings initiatives to ensure business continuity and best in class service pricing.
+ Provide lead support and formal response to EHS agency inspections conducted by local, state and federal regulatory bodies.
+ Manage moderate size capital infrastructure projects from inception to completion including regulated areas.
+ Develop program budgets and schedules in support of EHS&S initiatives including platform tools (e.g. Enablon).
+ Monitor and drive progress of EHS&S projects and programs, maintaining budgets and schedules.
+ Lead the selection process for hiring third party service firms, evaluating proposals, conducting interviews and making recommendations to senior management, in partnership with site Procurement and Management
+ Provide supervision and development of EHS Site staff. Ensure appropriate communication takes place around EHS issues.
+ Consult with Corporate Engineering, Company management and workplace staff to identify and resolve potential EHS&S issues through engineering design changes or other means necessary, such as Facilities controls, JHA job hazard analysis.
+ Clarify, define, and assist in enforcement and application of Agency and Company policies and practices.

+ Partner with site leadership to address audit findings from clients, regulatory agencies, or internal CRL audits.

**Job Qualifications**

Compensation Data

POSITION OVERVIEW
This role is critical in ensuring full compliance with OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, and other federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing high-risk operations involving ionizing radiation, flammable materials, and dust hazards.

- Responsible for System level contracts (and contractors, as applicable) based upon designated System program responsibilities (ie. integrated waste mgmt, chemical management/safety data sheet, patient handling and office furniture, online/in person training vendors). Manages and monitors performance and driving efficiencies, responsible for addressing issues and seeking ongoing continual improvement.
- Prepare quarterly and annual reports to Safety Committee and System Safety Council reflecting program activity and effectiveness as measured through established key performance indicators.
- Prepare summary reports for committee/focus team review as defined in charter(s). Submit recommendation for minimizing or eliminating risk factors contributing to recurrence.
- Education :
- Bachelor's degree, in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Emergency Management, or a related field
- Experience :
- Five (5) years' work experience in environmental health & safety, emergency management or related field.
- Three years (3) of demonstrated progressive leadership experience in the area of Environmental Health and Safety; and Joint Commission (or regulatory equivalent) Environment of Care and Life Safety requirements for a hospital or clinical setting.
- Training/Certification:
- Completion of FEMA IS 100, 200, 700, and 800 or ability to complete them within 90 days of hire.
- Unique or Preferred Skills :
- Understand OSHA, EPA, Joint Commission, IDPH, local, state, and other federal regulations and policies pertaining to environmental health and safety and emergency management practices.
- Ability to develop and document investigation of incidents and processes and to write safety and health policies.
- Experience and success in preparing, coordinating and executing effective training and education to the adult learner.
- Knowledge of MS Office suite, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Must possess strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
