Job Description

NYC DOT Division of Facilities Management seeks to hire an experienced Project Manager to serve as the Environmental and Safety Coordinator. Candidate will perform various administrative environmental, and safety related duties. Ensure that the Division is in compliance with all OSHA, PESH, DOTOSH, OECA, and DEP policies. The selected candidate may be responsible but not limited to the following duties:

  • Develop and maintain safety records, including incident reports, safety training records, and safety program evaluations

  • Investigate safety incidents and accidents and develop and implement corrective measures to prevent future occurrences

  • Collaborate with other departments and project managers to ensure consistent safety standards are followed across all projects

  • Review and organize tank compliance reports

  • Help maintain/update tank inventory spreadsheet

  • Assist with the scheduling of required environmental and safety services

  • Assist with review and submission of invoices

  • Assist with review of environmental plans including SPCC and SWPPP

  • Conduct site visits to ensure facilities are in compliance with Hazardous Waste Management and Universal/Electronic waste management procedures and coordinate the proper disposals.

  • Coordinate annual hearing tests.

  • Oversee the Safety Boot Program for the division: distribute boots, maintain tracking spreadsheet and prepare receiving reports associated with boot distribution.

  • Oversee the Agency's pest control operation and manage the associated contract.

  • Coordinate site visits with the pest management technicians and exterminators.

In order to be considered for this position candidate must be serving permanently in the title of Associate Project Manager, or must have filed, taken,

passed and be reachable on the civil service list, Exam # 3110, or be eligible under the 55a program. Witten proof must be provided.

Qualifications

One year of full-time satisfactory experience in supervising employees performing project management work, such as planning, administering, managing, coordinating, or expediting, on engineering and/or architectural and/or landscape architectural projects, or supervising a construction project with a value of $1,000,000 or more, and either:

  1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, landscape architecture, architectural technology, construction, construction management, construction technology, sustainable design, urban planning, urban studies, city planning, transportation planning, business administration, or public administration, and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in project management work, such as planning, administering, managing, coordinating, or expediting, for engineering and/or architectural and/or landscape architectural projects; or

  2. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and five years of experience as described in "1" above; or

  3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent plus any combination of college or university education and/or experience described in "1" above to make up the equivalent of five years of education and experience. One year of experience credit will be given for: (a) each 30 semester credits of college or university education leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, landscape architecture, architectural technology, construction, construction management, construction technology, sustainable design, urban planning, urban studies, city planning, transportation planning, business administration, or public administration; (b) a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in one of the disciplines described in "1" above; (c) a Juris Doctor degree, or (d) a valid New York State license as a Professional Engineer, Registered Architect or Registered Landscape Architect. Where experience which is primarily of a design nature is not acceptable towards meeting the qualification requirements.

In addition to meeting the qualification requirements for Assignment Level I, candidates must have at least one additional year of experience as described in "1" above in a supervisory capacity or have served for at least one year as a project manager for a large and/or complex construction project.

Participates in education efforts for workforce health, safety and environment safety. Develops and implements effective strategies for staff onboarding and education.

Lockheed Martin Space in **Courtland, AL** is seeking a full-time Early Career Environmental Safety & Health Engineer (Compliance). Your responsibilities include: Reviewing operations to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, or industrial hygiene standards and regulations. Providing critical support to programs and operations ensuring that safety and environmental standards are met
Other responsibilities include: Conducting field activities in support of LM Space injury prevention and environmental compliance programs, with a focus on environmental, safety, and industrial hygiene. Thorough problem solving, and effective teaming skills are needed as well as the ability to adapt to ordnance protocol/requirements.
The successful candidate will have experience with analyzing complex technical data from chemical data sheets and environmental health surveys using logic and quantitative reasoning, knowledge of environmental, safety and health regulations, and an understanding of environmental permitting and regulations.

**Basic Qualifications:**
- Bachelors degree in applicable or related safety, environmental, and/or industrial hygiene discipline, or related engineering/scientific degree (Chemistry, Environmental Safety and Health, Physics etc) or equivalent experience/combined education.
