Oversees and directs the Quality Assurance program of the Department of Pathology. Monitors the laboratory compliance with regulatory agencies and all departmental Safety issues. Responsibilities include POCT services hospital-wide and Educational programs as directed by the Pathologists.

Chairs PCE Subcommittee and maintains minutes, develops and implements routine audits for tracking QA.
4. Point-of-care testing: Guides and oversees the POCT Program. Evaluate and propose new tests and instruments Point-of-care testing. Oversees the implementation of new POCT testing, procedures or instrumentation. Performs audits for hospital POCT programs.
5. Other duties and functions : Participates as an effective "Shift Officer" within the ARRL and its assigned tasks including weekend supervisory coverage. Assigns and monitors special projects per request of the Pathologists and/or Administrative Director. Participates in personal continuing education activities. Attends departmental and supervisory meetings.
6. Education / Training: Performs staff training and completion of training checklist for new hires and existing staff. When required creates and conducts training seminars in matters of safety, quality, security and other policy issues. Designs competency assessment tools to verify staff competency as it pertains to the ARRL personnel. In conjunction with the Operations Manager develop cross-training programs tailored to the job descriptions and needs of each staff member.

For the Consultant, Health & Safety position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $76,000 - $86,749 USD. We also may have instances where compensation may be outside of the range, based on the factors noted above . This job is also eligible for an annual discretionary based performance bonus.

**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes while acting in a safe manner at all times;

**Physical Requirements**

Candidates must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted and wear personal protective equipment that may restrict movement when required.
+ Requires walking and standing for extended periods of time, sitting in equipment that may vibrate or jostle, climbing and working at heights, pulling/pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, crawling, stooping, crouching, and balance. Reporting to the North America Director of Health, Safety, & Environmental with daily reporting to the Site Directors (Matrix Organization), the Claremont Health & Safety Manager leads in the development, execution, and maintenance of health and safety initiatives for two separate manufacturing sites (600 employees) located on the same campus.
The Health & Safety Manager will provide leadership, oversight and assistance in the development, implementation and coordination of health and safety programs and policies to ensure goal attainment and compliance with all applicable regulations and company initiatives. This position will be a member of two separate Leadership Teams - one for each manufacturing site on the Claremont Campus.
**_Job Objectives/Initiatives_** :
+ Responsible for the direct supervision two hourly Safety Leads.
+ Responsible for the development, implementation, training, and maintenance of policies, programs, and procedures to reduce team member injury, minimize company exposure and ensure compliance with Prysmian safety management systems and all applicable Health and Safety laws and regulations.
+ Has influence, stewardship, and ensures alignment on programs involving team member engagement, Consequence Thinking and/or behavior-based safety processes.
+ Builds competent Health & Safety teams at facility sites through communicating corporate procedures, coaching, training, and follow up on issues related to health and safety.
+ Drives programs involving team member engagement and behavior-based safety processes (Consequence Thinking - Zero & Beyond).
+ Proactively provides hands-on support in areas such as: Health and Safety Procedure implementation (Corporate and site specific), behavioral safety processes, problem analysis/troubleshooting, and interpretation of applicable legislation.
+ Facilitates and drives compliance with Prysmian Safety Mandates.
+ Collaborates with Environmental Manager to achieve and maintain certification to ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 Standards (Integrated Management System).
+ Participates in audits or meetings at other sites, as needed.
+ Partners with Site Environmental Manager to ensure ongoing compliance with Process Safety Management Standard regulation (Chlorine).
+ Drives safety incident reporting process that ensures effective incident investigation reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective action execution and effectiveness.
+ Conducts and assists with internal and external health and safety audits and meets with regulatory agencies during facility inspections/audits as required.
+ Leads in the development and execution of facility specific health and safety training needs.
+ Participates in Operational HSE reviews and new installation HSE assessments.
+ Leads investigations into serious or critical EHS matters as directed by senior leadership.
+ Leads or participates in key Health & Safety team meetings, Kaizen events and other key meetings where Health & Safety representation is requested.
+ Works closely with HSE counterparts and serves as Region representative to cross-regional forums for best practice sharing, idea exchange, shared learning, etc.
+ Will serve as a back up to site Sustainability & Environmental Manager, when needed.

**_Qualifications/Experience_**
+ Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, or other related field.
+ 8 plus years of direct H&S experience including OSHA compliance, behavior-based safety, process hazard and risk analysis, root cause evaluation, incident management, standards and procedural development, auditing, and training.
+ Demonstrated ability to drive safety participation and accountability throughout all levels of the organization.
+ Ability to work independently and drive sustainable change.
+ Available to respond to site for medical treatment injuries and serious incidents outside regular working hours.
