Job Purpose
Trains drivers and/ or other location employees with respect to safety and regulatory compliance.

Major Responsibilities:
+ Provide classroom and/ or behind-the-wheel training to new operators or re-training of current operators. May provide other training to location personnel.
+ Tracks attendees and maintains training documentation based on regulations and company policy.
+ While the focus is on driver training, employee may also have other safety program responsibilities (e.g., accident investigation, forms compliance, safety meetings).
+ Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education & Certifications Required:
+ High School diploma or equivalent Possess a valid CDL Class A or B with Passenger & Airbrake Endorsements
+ 1 to 3 years training experience
+ 1 to 3 years transportation, safety or related experience
+ Knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations regarding safety and environmental issues.
+ Computer literate with working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
+ Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
+ Good verbal, written and relational communication skills, with ability to appropriately interact with employees of all levels including drivers, customers, senior management, client representatives, union officials and general public.
+ Fluent in English
+ Demonstrate regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
+ Possess working vehicle to travel with in service area as needed.

The Safety Trainer is responsible for acting as the front-line safety professional conducting safety inspections, observations, investigations, safety training, and regulatory compliance for OSHA, DOT, and EPA. The Safety Specialist anticipates and predicts hazards based on experience, historical data, and other informational sources. They recognize and identify hazards in existing or future systems, equipment, products, facilities, work sites and operational work procedures. The Safety Specialist evaluates and assesses the probability and severity of loss events and accidents which may result from actual or potential hazards. The specialist applies methods of conducting hazard analyses and interprets the results. The safety specialist provides advice and counseling about compliance with safety, health and environmental laws, codes, regulations, standards, and the related company requirements.

**Job Purpose**
We are searching for a dynamic individual with extensive experience in trench solutions and equipment safety training to be part of our team working with clients and their employees. You are an instructor who can consistently lead training sessions with energy, intelligence, honesty, and charisma; Someone who will be able to engage and interact with people of any level or any industry.
Under the primary direction of the Safety Training supervisor, and secondary direction of the Safety Training Manager, the Regional Safety Trainer - Trench Specialist performs a wide range of activities related to sales, training material development, safety training, and safety program administration. This position is externally focused and requires extensive travel working at Herc Rentals locations and onsite with various clients and their employees.
**What you will do.**
+ Complete sales activities such as cold calls, jobsite visits, and meeting with customers to identify customer training needs.
+ Quote all training
+ Schedule and book travel
+ Participate in required meetings
+ Communicate schedule daily via the schedule provided
+ Track all expenses and submit expense reports on regular intervals
+ Prepare all training materials and classroom prior to delivery of training courses
+ Coordinate, with the customer or branch personnel, the availability of equipment for the evaluation portion of training
+ Conduct training classes for customers
+ Effectively communicate and teach required training courses, including but not limited to, OSHA 1926 Subpart P
+ Stay up to date on regulations that apply within the industry
+ Complete proper and timely invoicing, training delivery to customers, proper document storage, training content updates, and professional development
+ Conduct regular training and documentation self-audits
+ Maintains financial reports and presents at regular intervals
+ Work with sales, marketing, and operations teams to support the customer
+ Meet with customers to actively communicate programs and objectives
+ Attends courses, conferences, & seminars as necessary
+ Interpreting government/agency regulations
+ Carry out other duties, as requested by the Safety Training Supervisor or Manager
**Requirements**
+ Up to 80% travel
+ Using solid project and time management to achieve objectives
+ Deliver training to Herc Rentals customers
+ Training for Herc Rentals employees may be provided when the employee joins an existingcourse that a customer has scheduled
+ Use Microsoft Office to include but not limited to PowerPoint, Excel, & Word
+ Develop and/or improve training programs as directed by leadership
+ Participate in projects
+ Maintain order in an environment of changing priorities
+ Safety Awareness: Understands, follows, and motivates individuals to follow the safety rulesand regulations
+ Working long and irregular hours, and under pressure conditions
+ Flexibility with work schedule to accommodate client-requested training sessions outside ofregular business hours

+ Bi/Multi-Lingual preferred

+ Analyzing complex written documents
+ Strong team player with the ability to organize, prioritize, handle time constraints, andmanage shifting priorities
+ Mastery of sales skills such as selling solutions over price

+ Knowledge of regulatory agencies & associated standards OSHA, ANSI, & CSA
+ Trench solutions knowledge of required state-run Subpart P programs based on territory location

+ Excellent computer & technology skills, primarily with Microsoft Suite software
