What you'll do on a typical day:
• Develop, update, and maintain written safety and health procedures in compliance with company policies, as well as state and federal regulations
• Serve as the subject matter expert for OSHA compliance and the primary point of contact for all safety-related issues
• Participate in incident investigations; ensure complete and accurate incident documentation and reporting
• Conduct compliance audits to ensure practices and record accuracy, including OSHA documentation, and comply with all government and company policies
• Participate in new process reviews, including job hazard analysis, new process training, etc.
• Create, maintain, and deliver safety training on a regular basis
• Conduct risk assessments to minimize and eliminate risk, losses, and environmental issues
• Analyze safety and health data, develop metrics, and create and distribute reports for leadership
What you need to succeed at GXO:
At a minimum, you'll need:
• 4 years of related work experience, including 2 years of safety audit experience
• Experience reporting safety metrics (leading/lagging indicators)
• Experience with Microsoft Office
It'd be great if you also have:
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Safety Sciences, or a related field
• Membership in a nationally recognized safety organization
• Availability to travel as needed to support organizational safety needs
• 5 years of experience managing safety and health programs in an industrial or warehouse environment

**A Day In The Life**
+ Serve as a safety representative for the supply chain, assisting the EHS Manager in coordinating and implementing all areas of the safety programs.

+ Participate in the development, implementation, monitoring, and optimization of safety, health, and hazardous materials and waste policies, practices, and procedures throughout the supply chain facilities in compliance with governmental regulations, including Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations.
+ With cross-departmental collaboration, conduct supply chain safety training.
+ Independently conduct regular audits of the supply chain operations, including facilities, machinery, and safety equipment, to identify and remediate potential compliance issues, safety risks, and other opportunities for better safety practices, and coach associates about better safety practices.
+ Ensure compliance with safety programs and applicable federal, state, and local laws.
+ Assist with conducting risk assessments related to jobs performed (Job Hazard Analysis) and new equipment introductions.
+ Recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures to management, including ergonomic considerations.
+ Assist the DC EHS Manager in developing, implementing, and monitoring Safety policies, procedures, claims reporting forms, and activities. Assist with maintaining OSHA injury and illness records.

**You'll Come With**
+ 2+ years of experience in safety with 30-hour OSHA certification or OSHA 511 course certification.
+ Working knowledge of OSHA regulations as well as other regulatory standards

+ Strong time management skills
+ Works independently on a daily basis, providing quality reports, analysis, and policies in Safety

ERM  is hiring a motivated hands-on Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Consultant  to support our key technology client onsite in Los Angeles, CA .  This is a full-time (32 hours a week), limited-term role with a duration of 6 months , extendable

The ideal candidate will have experience developing and supporting implementation of OSHA requirements, Standard Operating Procedures, Health and Safety Plans, Job Hazard Analysis, Emergency Response Plans, Risk Assessment processes, Behavioral Safety programs and Contractor Safety Management.  Candidates should also have familiarity with waste management (hazardous, non-hazardous, universal, electronic), environmental reporting (HMBPs), and chemical safety requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform compliance and system audits to assess project compliance with applicable health and safety or environmental regulatory requirements, client standards, or management systems.
  • Support our clients’ desire to improve safety performance by providing training, field coaching, and targeted EHS assessments.
  • Identify follow-up corrective actions to close audit findings.
  • Provide technical assistance on EHS compliance and EHS management system projects on a range of areas such as machine guarding, laser safety, robotics safety, Chemical/Lab Safety, Hazardous Materials, Waste Management, EHS auditing, and ISO 14001/18001/45000 Management Systems.
  • Develop EHS compliance procedures, plans, permits, and reports.

  • Build client relationships and nurture repeat business by continuously striving to exceed their expectations.
  • Support ERM Partners and Project Managers to effectively manage and deliver projects.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS in engineering, environmental science, occupational health and safety, or related discipline preferred.
  •  A minimum of 2 years of experience providing EHS support with an emphasis on health and safety.
  • Existing certification or working towards certification a Certified Safety Professional (CSP/ASP) certification a plus.
  • Experience working on the Enablon platform is a plus.
  • Experience performing Industrial Hygiene monitoring is a plus.
  • Demonstrated understanding of regulatory compliance and reporting processes.
  • Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills; experience recording/writing detailed technical data and reports a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, and/or 45001 preferred but not required.

Pay Transparency:  

For the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Consultant position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $76,000 – $7,410, 36.53/hr - 46.83/hr USD , limited-term, non-exempt.  An employee’s pay position within this range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.  We also may have instances where employee’s fall outside of the range based on the factors noted above.  This job may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/Flexforce employees are NOT bonus eligible).

Responsibilities:
+ Direct facility activities to ensure compliance with USDA, FDA, SSOP, HACCP, FSMA, and GMP standards, and lead regulatory audits.
+ Serve as HACCP coordinator, Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI), and on-site recall coordinator for the facility.
+ Lead resolution of regulatory, food safety, and product quality issues, partnering with plant and corporate teams to address concerns.
+ Maintain strong relationships with regulatory agencies and customer-facing teams to resolve issues and ensure quality and safety compliance.
+ Oversee food safety programs, including specification compliance, corrective actions, facility audits, and maintenance of FSQ documentation.
+ Lead and coordinate training programs on GMPs, HACCP, and food safety practices; prepare for and follow up on third-party inspections.
+ Drive continuous improvement in food safety, quality, and product consistency using tools like SPC, Lean, and Six Sigma, and manage project execution.
Qualifications:

Compensation and Benefits:
The base salary range for this position is $104,625 to $174,375 annually with eligibility for a 20% annual incentive bonus, that is based on organizational performance. The pay range represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to educations, skills, work experience, certifications, geography etc. As such, starting pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

This opportunity provides technical assistance and guidance for multi-site/phase due diligence, design, development, building, testing, and inspecting of fire and life safety systems on building projects in the public and private sector. Responsibilities include the research, design, concept development, planning, installation, operation, maintenance, and optimal integration of automatic sprinkler, fire alarm, mass notification systems, smoke control, egress analysis, and building and fire code analysis review and compliance. Substantiates reports and documentation regarding installation, construction, and operation specifications. Your Impact
+ Interpretation of building code, life safety, and fire code requirements. This will include familiarity with both ICC and NFPA codes, including IBC and NFPA 101.
+ Review of architectural drawings for compliance with building and fire code requirements
+ Negotiating with authorities having jurisdiction on fire safety designs and proposals.
+ Producing with limited guidance fire safety strategy documents to inform and support the chosen building form throughout the design process.
+ Design of fire protection and life safety systems including automatic fire sprinkler systems, fire detection and alarm systems, smoke management systems, and egress systems.
+ With minimal support, carrying out and reviewing fire engineering calculations including smoke modeling and evacuation analysis from simple hand calculations to complex 3D computational modeling.
+ Assist in the commissioning of fire protection and life safety systems in commercial, institutional and industrial facilities.
+ Directly interfacing with the client.
+ Organizing in-house resources.
+ Following quality control review processes of all project documentation.

Who You Are
