The successful candidate can expect to work with colleagues and clients to develop an understanding of the many property risks posed by fire, earthquake, flood, and other Natural Catastrophes.

Person should have HPR property engineering experience with knowledge of both NFPA and Factory Mutual standards as well as an understanding of property insurance policy terms and conditions.

Applicant must be proficient in managing client, carrier, and insurance brokerage relationships. Excellent communication skills a must and should be able to effectively explain general property risk management concepts to prospective clients and internal business groups.

The prospect will be expected to travel approximately 30%of the time primarily in the U.S.

What the day will look like:
  • The successful applicant should have experience with the following:
  • Construction, Occupancy, Protection and Exposure (COPE) Data.
  • Brokerage submission information
  • Data analysis

Provide Strategic Consulting and Client advocacy for a variety of occupancies.

  • Compile Nat Cat data by populating primary and secondary modeling characteristics.
  • Review of available data to determine natural catastrophe exposure at client locations. Use of available online tools to analyze flood exposures in accordance with NIFP and FEMA guidelines.
  • Coordination of vendor RFPs
  • Knowledge of B&M Jurisdictional inspection requirements
  • Development and review of Maximum Foreseeable (MFL), Probable Maximum (PML) and Normal Loss (NLE) estimates.
  • Hazards associated with a variety of occupancies including manufacturing, warehousing, soft occupancies, etc.
  • Problem solving using the application of Client Standards, NFPA, FM Global or other best practices to resolve technical fire protection issues.
Skills and experience that will lead to success:
  • Bachelors degree in engineering or equivalent experience and professional designations.
  • 3 to 10 years with an insurance carrier, vendor or related property risk engineering experience.
  • Technically proficient in understanding, interpreting, and applying NFPA and/or FM Global standards; and, evaluating fire protection systems (automatic sprinklers, water supplies, special extinguishing systems, etc.)
  • Ideal candidate is motivated and a self-starter.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs and transition to and from ladders or stairs to access building roof areas and upper or lower floors within a customer site during surveys and being able to transverse site and client sites for a workday.
  • Ability to work from home.

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $110,000 to $160,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicants education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicants geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aons annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.

Position Overview

As our Business Development Specialist, you will be pivotal in driving the growth of our client base by selling tailored marketing services, such as website development, SEO, PPC, social media management, and full-service marketing solutions. The ideal candidate has deep experience in a marketing agency environment, a strong understanding of digital marketing strategies, and excels in building and maintaining client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue growth, targeting potential clients in need of marketing services.
  • Client Acquisition: Proactively prospect, engage, and close sales for the agencys marketing services (SEO, SEM, website development, social media marketing, etc.).
  • Relationship Management: Build and nurture long-lasting customer relationships. Understand client needs and develop solutions to meet them.
  • Corporate Partnerships & Strategic Alliances: The Business Development Specialist will be responsible for identifying, building, and nurturing corporate partnerships to drive new business opportunities. By forging relationships with key industry players (e.g., medical device companies, tech firms, etc.), youll develop strategic alliances that enable us to integrate our marketing services into larger sales channels.
  • Sales Reporting & Forecasting: Prepare and present sales reports and forecasts to senior management. Track KPIs and evaluate sales performance via our internal platform.
  • Collaboration with Marketing Teams: Work closely with internal teams to create proposals and marketing materials, ensuring seamless communication and delivering a unified message to clients.
  • Proposal Creation & Management: Craft compelling, customized proposals that clearly articulate the agencys value proposition, service offerings, and deliverables. Track and follow up on proposals to ensure the sales process moves forward efficiently.
  • Negotiation & Closing: Use a consultative approach to understand client pain points, propose customized solutions, and close deals.
  • CRM Management: Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of all sales activities and client interactions in our CRM system.
Key Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a sales role within a marketing agency or a related industry.
  • Demonstrated success in selling services such as SEO, SEM, PPC, social media management, branding, website design, or content marketing.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing strategies and their value across various industries.
  • Exceptional negotiation and closing skills.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales quotas and driving revenue growth.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with C-level executives and business owners.
  • Experience with CRM software (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce).
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
