Role Summary:As a Lead Outside Sales Representative, your primary responsibilities include building and managing a client base through cold calling small to medium-sized businesses. You will master the sales process and then train and mentor new hires while maintaining your own book of business.
Responsibilities:Build Your Business:
- Client Portfolio Development : Develop and maintain a portfolio of clients, engaging with employees and decision-makers.
- Business-to-Business Cold Calling : Conduct cold calls to small and medium-sized businesses as a core component of your sales strategy.
Inspire and Train:
- Field Training : Lead in-field training sessions to motivate new recruits and demonstrate effective sales techniques.
- Client Engagement : Meet face-to-face with business owners and key decision-makers to offer supplemental insurance products and services.
Mentor and Coach:
- Personalized Coaching : Provide individualized coaching and support to new sales representatives.
- Guidance and Support : Help new hires navigate challenges and improve their sales skills.
Connect and Build Relationships:
- Client Relationships : Foster strong connections with clients and team members.
- Follow-Up : Set follow-up appointments with prospective and current clients to review their needs.
- Customer Service : Respond to general emails and phone calls from clients and set appointments as needed.
General Duties:
- Presence in Meetings : Attend scheduled calls or meetings with your sales team or manager.
- Client Outreach : Call on new businesses, referrals, and existing clients who need to be re-serviced.
- Schedule Management : Set your own working hours and submit them to your sales manager weekly.
- Building: Build and maintain your own book of business
The ideal candidate is motivated, dynamic, and able to engage with businesses across various industries within their designated sales territory. You should be skilled in face-to-face sales and have a strong ability to build and maintain client relationships. Additionally, leadership skills are essential for training and mentoring new hires.

Pay: $78,000 - $128,000 per year
Additional Position Qualifications :
- Already licensed in Health & Life general lines (or willing and able to obtain Health & Life producer license - licensing reimbursement offered)
- Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 4 years of professional (post-high school) work experience. Candidates within 6 months or less of degree completion will be considered, as will candidates with less than 4 years of professional work experience who have relevant or specialized outside sales experience.
