The Control Systems section within the Sensor Power and Analog Department (SPAD) has an exciting employment opportunity for a Senior Engineer with control system and power conversion experience.
SPAD is responsible for design engineering including the following areas:

This position is an onsite role. Regular travel to Tewksbury, MA; Marlborough, MA; Andover, MA; Woburn, MA; and/or Pelham, NH may be required depending on the assignment. Travel to supplier or customer sites may also be required (up to 10%).
**What you will do:**
In this role you will select power conversion equipment (rectifiers, inverters, filters, etc.) and tune control loops (current, velocity, position, etc.) for integrated electromechanical solutions. The applications range from cooling subsystems (fans, pumps, flow control valves, etc.) to actuators for motion control of radar elements. You will also be responsible for creating and validating simulation models to evaluate system performance and troubleshoot real-system problems.
You will also be responsible for supporting and driving the execution of product development projects. You will be working with a Team/Technical Lead and under the guidance of an Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead. Work is performed in a multidisciplinary team environment focused on execution and engineering excellence, using established business, and engineering tools and processes. You will interact with internal and external customers and leadership team members.
**Qualifications you must have:**
+ B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major.
+ 5+ years of experience in power conversion and/or control system design
+ Experience with at least one of the following: traction systems, servo systems, fan / pump applications, or grid-tied bidirectional converters
+ Experience with high voltage systems at kW power levels
+ Experience in system modeling or design using MATLAB/Simulink or equivalent
**Qualifications we prefer:**
+ M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major.
+ Understanding of classic control theory and vector control of electric motors
+ Hands-on experience with power electronics inverters used as motor drives
+ Familiarity with induction and permanent magnet electric machines.

Our client is in the process of building the Quality function to support late-stage clinical development programs is and preparing for commercialization. This position will be a key contributor to managing and improving the Document Management and Records Management Systems. This is a contract to hire position out of Boston, MA.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of experience in a quality role, preferably within a broader quality organization supporting both development and commercial programs.
  • Previous experience with implementing and maintaining electronic systems (e.g., Veeva, Compliance Wire, Master Control etc.)
  • Previous experience with analytics for use in managing quality issues enabling a risk-based approach.

  • Collaborates closely with FALs within Development to determine document needs, establish, and improve necessary document templates, and provide guidance on project needs and maintain compliance with good documentation practices and GxP data integrity requirements.
  • Partners with functional areas to conduct periodic review of existing GxP procedures.
  • Manage delivery, maintenance, and continuous improvement of GxP processes in eDMS
  • Oversees Document Control and GxP records management. Ensures adequate systems are in place to achieve and maintain records retention compliance pursuant to policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Report data related to the health of the DMS to Senior Executive Team via the Quality Management Review.
  • Own and facilitate the SOP Review Committee
  • Manage the development and implementation of controlled documents including, but not limited to: SOPs, Work Instructions, training materials, protocols, reports, templates, and reference guides
  • Ensure internal formatting standards are maintained
  • Champion the execution of QS activities within document control within the QA department as well as cross functionally.
  • Support computer systems validation and assist with the management of electronic document management systems.
  • Provide high levels of support for the enterprise as it relates to achieving documentation deliverables
  • Participate in regulatory inspections and/or internal audits.

**About the Role:**
As an Automation Engineer (AE), you will support the site maintenance team to ensure operational performance and efficiency of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) control systems. You will partner with the maintenance team to troubleshoot and maintain equipment such as conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, cameras, print-and-apply labeling systems, scales, HMI systems, control cabinets, and more. The AE provides support to the operations and maintenance teams by implementing solutions for complex problems and tracking related projects. You may lead and/or assist other technicians with their development through continuity of knowledge, all while working in a clean, climate-controlled, modern facility.
**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:**
+ Promoting a safe working environment by following all safety procedures
+ Providing guidance on maintaining material handling control systems, industrial motor control systems, servo and frequency drives, and electrical distribution systems
+ Using your technical expertise to provide support with troubleshooting and modifying software projects for material handling control systems, including PLC/PC controllers, Allen Bradley ControlLogix and CompactLogix PLC platform utilizing Rockwell's software package, industrial networks such as Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, AS-I, motor control systems, servo drives, frequency drives, and electrical distribution systems.
+ Acting as the first level of escalation support for equipment automation issues and appropriately escalating downtime situations to vendors and/or network support teams to restore equipment operation.
+ Applying subject matter expertise in material handling and electronic control systems to maximize building utilization of systems
+ Monitoring MHE metrics and partnering with mechatronics technicians to resolve equipment electrical problems that create performance deficiencies, and performing control systems assessments to maintain and improve equipment reliability
+ Partnering with facility Operations leadership, equipment vendors, and parts suppliers to plan and coordinate new technology installations, acting as the technical consultant for capital projects inside the building
+ Communicating technical issues and project timelines with building leadership, operations, and the maintenance team, explaining production impacts and working closely with operations and engineering to ensure a thorough understanding of impact to systems
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ 3+ years of cumulative work experience in the following areas, or a relevant 2-year degree plus 1 year of work experience in the following areas:
+ Programming/commissioning of HMIs, PLCs, and VFDs
+ SCADA systems and KPIs
+ Interpreting and modifying mechanical and electrical drawings
+ Supporting a range of different conveyors and sortation systems
+ Equipment control components such as relays, motor starters, VFDs, HMIs, etc.
+ High school or equivalent diploma
+ Positive attitude and ability to effectively problem-solve
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Associate's degree with a focus in Electronic Technology (or similar)
+ Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field
+ 4+ years of experience in the electrical field, or in control systems development, troubleshooting, and programming
+ 4+ years of experience supporting advanced automation controls systems maintenance and development
+ 3+ years of experience supporting a wide range of conveyors and sortation systems
+ Leadership and project management experience
**Physical Demands:**
+ Ability to reach overhead, kneel, squat, climb steps/ladders, use an aerial lift, and frequently lift a maximum of 50 lbs. of equipment
+ Ability to perform tasks while wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which may include but is not limited to hard hat, face mask, face shield, and composite-toe shoes
+ Regularly required to crouch or bend and reach to install/move equipment
+ Movement between departments, floors, and properties to facilitate work, averaging 6 to 12 miles per day
+ Work in a warehouse environment with fluctuating temperatures
+ Regularly required to type on a computer for 1-2 hours per day

What You'll Be Doing:
