Purpose (Objective): The incumbent prepares samples for processing and maintains documentation of process to facilitate testing procedures.

Main activities:

• Prepare sample for analysis by recording, weighing, and blending
• Write identification onto plates so that client and sample number can be tracked

Qualifications: An advanced degree in Organometallic/Inorganic/Coordination Chemistry or a related scientific field is preferred. Alternatively, a bachelor's degree with 1-3 years of related work experience. Chinese, Japanese, or Korean language skill is desired, but not required. Excellent scientific reading comprehension and writing skills. Ability to learn policies, work habits, insights, and tool usage from trainers to foster quality and productivity in their work and to serve as a resource in areas of specialty. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently. Demonstrated change agility skills to anticipate workflow problems and formulate opportunities for improvement. Humana’s Healthcare Quality & Reporting Improvement (HQRI) department is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join a high-performing team dedicated to advancing predictive modeling and analytics in support of our Medicare and Medicaid business. The HQRI team plays a pivotal role within Humana, delivering insights that drive the effectiveness of risk adjustment initiatives.

The Senior Data Scientist in this role will empower risk adjustment decision makers through predictive analytics. They will provide actionable, accurate, and reliable solutions to support our operations and finance partners’ business needs. They will put the customer first, delivering timely and clearly communicated results.

Objectives:

• Within six months, take ownership of at least 2 of our major models

• Within one year, improve our models by increasing efficiency, building a new model/process, and/or improving the accuracy of an existing model

Responsibilities:

• Utilize mathematics, statistics, and programming to generate predictions that drive risk adjustment operations and strategy

• Partner with peers and supervisors to establish an overall collaborative working relationship

• Deliver complex information in the manner most useful to the customer, utilizing tables, charts, graphs, filters, etc. to make clear the most important aspects of the information presented

• Seek always to understand customers’ needs and work in partnership with customers to develop solutions that satisfy those needs

Required Qualifications

This position is remote and work can be performed anywhere in the US; however, preference is for candidates to be located within reasonable commutable distance to Louisville, Kentucky.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting.
