**Responsibilities**
+ Delivers the preparation of assigned sections in the financial statements papers and proper documentation to support filings with the SEC

+ Contributes to internal management reports including those sent to the Board of Directors

**Minimum Qualifications**

Job Summary

The Director SEC Reporting will be responsible for the Companys external financial and SEC reporting, and technical accounting, including researching new reporting requirements and determining impacts along with the Corporate Controller, coordinating the preparation of the Companys quarterly and annual SEC reporting requirements, ensuring compliance with SEC reporting requirements, assisting in SOX compliance functions, as well as all other tasks as assigned.

Job Description:
- Supervise key aspects of the SEC and FERC reporting process, including drafting disclosures, processing changes, ensuring accuracy and consistency throughout the document, maintaining quarterly list of disclosure items and coordinating with the printer.
- Interact with Business Units, Controller's Group, Investor Relations, Treasury, internal and external legal counsel, and the internal and external auditors to accomplish goals and ensure efficiency and effectiveness of information exchange.
- Research and appropriately apply new accounting pronouncements; benchmark SEC filings from other companies.
- Complete key financial and disclosure controls to ensure a strong control environment.
- Assist as appropriate in the supervision of staff accountants, including the review of information prepared to ensure completion of tie-out binders, checklists, etc.
Requirements
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent and a CPA
- At least 8 years of related experience, including 3 years in management with demonstrated success leading a professional staff
- Demonstrated technical knowledge and understanding of Accounting theory, principles, practices and regulations including FASB/GAAP, SEC and SOX compliance
- Understands requirements for documentation in work papers, disclosures and memos; demonstrated ability to document a broad range of technical issues
- Demonstrated success identifying and implementing best practices within his/her area of responsibility
- Demonstrated successful use of technology to improve process efficiency
- Demonstrated focus on customer service (examples include working with clients to develop a partnership and encourage open communication)
- Effective teambuilding and leaderships skills
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Commitment to highest standards of quality and integrity

Job Description
+ Assist with development and maintenance of critical global accounting policies and help define ongoing process for technical accounting research and global policy setting
+ Monitor, understand and identify potential impact of new accounting and SEC standards on financial statements and disclosures
+ Assist to develop, maintain, and ensure compliance with internal controls related to global accounting policies and new accounting and reporting guidance issued by the SEC
+ Work closely with external auditors on complex technical issues and new guidance implementation
+ Respond to complex, non-routine accounting inquiries related to topics such as revenue recognition, purchase accounting, acquisitions, derivatives, leases, debt and equity transactions, share-based compensation and other matters
+ Develop content and facilitate training sessions for relevant accounting topics
+ Support key customers, including Treasury, Legal, Tax, Investor Relations, FP& A and operational teams as needed.

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finance
+ CPA required
+ Minimum 6-10 years accounting experience for a publicly-traded company and/or public accounting experience. Experience with a global company and/or foreign operations preferred, as is Big Four or regional public accounting experience
+ Management experience required (project management experience also preferred)
+ Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and SEC requirements
+ Technical accounting research experience
+ Sarbanes-Oxley compliance experience
+ Self-starter with a focus on process improvement
+ Ability to deliver under pressure while balancing multiple (and sometimes competing) priorities

SEC Reporting Manager Responsibilities:
1. Assist in external financial reporting including Form 10-K's, 10-Q's, 8-Ks, Proxy, earnings releases, and internal/management reporting as required.
2. Prepare/or review quarterly financial statements.
3. Lead various process improvement initiatives in order to eliminate redundancies and improve efficiency of the SEC reporting process.
4. Ensure compliance and review of the XBRL process.
5. Support the annual audit and quarterly review activities with external auditors.
6. Support tests performed by internal and external auditors on internal controls.
7. Assist with external facing stakeholder activities such as attending accounting conferences, industry roundtables and/or standard setting working groups.
8. Partner with the accounting and finance department to create a high-performance team.
9. Benchmark studies, ad-hoc projects and research on SEC or technical updates, as needed.
**Minimum Qualifications:**

10. Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Foreign degree equivalent accepted. Requires 3 years of experience in job offered or in a finance-related occupation.
11. Experience must include 6 months of experience in the following:

13. 2. Researching, evaluating and documenting technical accounting conclusions

15. 4. Reviewing annual and quarterly activities with external auditors
16. 5. Process simplification for Financial Reporting and Analysis
17. 6. Analysing financial results using pivot tables, macros, VLOOKUP's, HLOOKUPs, in Excel
18. 7. Maintaining compliance with GAAP and SEC disclosure requirements
19. 8. Educating and assisting business partners on complex technical matters
20. 9. Developing or maintaining operational benchmarks
21. 10. XBRL process.
**Public Compensation:**
$261,431/year to $281,930/year + bonus + equity + benefits
