- Review, maintain and modify as necessary, the 5-year Safety & IH Strategic Plan to ensure key SIH deliverables are clearly defined to achieve the Safety and IH Vision and that it is also aligned with the core business drivers and the Carnegie Way efforts within the company.
- Build, deliver, support, brand and maintain a Safety and Industrial Hygiene Management System (SIMS).
- SIMS must be aligned with existing management system structures or efforts in development within the company to ensure resources and capabilities are properly leveraged.

- Utilize Lean Six Sigma principles in the development of the SIMS and associated auditing processes that ensure alignment with other business functions and ongoing initiatives.
- Develop and deliver methods and communications to engrain Lean Six Sigma principles / concepts within the SIH Organization.
- Build, deliver, recommend and monitor employee engagement initiatives and activities that drive ownership of the Safety and Industrial Hygiene Process throughout the organization.
