Overview:

- Maneuver completed units into position for installation and anchor the units.
- Install assemblies, such as flashing, pipes, tubes, heating and air conditioning ducts, or furnace casings.
- Select gauges or types of sheet metal or nonmetallic material, according to product specifications.
- Drill and punch holes in metal, for screws, bolts, and rivets.

The Sheet Metal Mechanic is responsible for conducting the installation of metal/board HVAC systems.
ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities of the Sheet Metal Mechanic include:

**Job Description**
The Sheet Metal Mechanic position involves working under minimal supervision to safely lay-out, fabricate, and install parts and equipment on aircraft following established operating procedures. The role requires adherence to company design specifications and quality standards, with the expectation that completed work meets customer expectations. The position also includes mentoring and training other Sheetmetal Technicians.
**Responsibilities**
+ Use complicated schematics, blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical instructions to perform sheet metal layout, fabrication, and installation on aircraft.
+ Coordinate with supervision and inspection to ensure compliance with internal and FAA paperwork, sign-offs, and quality specifications.
+ Mentor and train Sheetmetal Technicians, reviewing their work to ensure compliance with quality control standards.
+ Oversee projects or technicians and assess requirements for assigned tasks, procuring necessary materials and documentation.
+ Utilize tools to shape and form complex angles and configurations according to blueprint specifications.
+ Operate shop equipment such as brakes, presses, riveting equipment, shears, and hand tools associated with sheet metal functions.
+ Comply with all safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies, using personal protective equipment as required.
+ Conduct monthly 5S audits as required.
+ Use the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign-off work.
+ Assist in developing initiatives to meet individual OGSM requirements.
**Essential Skills**
+ Advanced knowledge of sheet metal or fabrication processes such as forming, drilling, stamping, shaping, bending, punching, cutting, riveting, filing, and dimpling.

The Sheet Metal Mechanic is responsible for conducting the installation of metal/board HVAC systems.

**Overview**
The Sheet Metal Mechanic is responsible for conducting the installation of metal/board HVAC systems.
**Responsibilities**
+ Assembles and installs metal duct and fiberglass board.
+ Blue print reading and understanding of sheet metal shop drawings.
+ All phases of duct installation (spiral, rectangular, double wall, welded).
+ Understanding of different connectors that are used.
+ Hanger layout as well as some field measuring.
+ Organizes work area and maintains all hand tools.
+ Lifts heavy materials at heights.
**Qualifications**
+ Minimum of 6 months experience in any types of sheet metal and fiberglass, duct work installation on commercial/residential projects.
+ Must have own Sheet Metal hand tools, company supplies power tools.
+ Must be able and willing to follow job-site instructions.
+ Lift heavy materials and not be afraid of heights.
+ Effective verbal and written communication skills.
+ Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
+ Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.
+ Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.
+ OSHA 10 or 30.
+ Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and/or poles.
+ Climbing stairs.
+ Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
+ Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
+ Operating machinery and/or power tools.
+ Outdoor elements such as precipitation, heat, cold, and/or wind.
+ Noisy environment.
+ Light to heavy work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects from 20-100 pounds.
+ 0-5% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.
**Pay Range**
USD $19.18 - USD $25.64 /Hr.
