Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Shipping Supervisor to join the Data Center Power & Control Division Starline Team in Canonsburg, PA. This position will direct the work of, support and supervise a team of frontline employees within a designated area or areas. This role will cover Monday - Thursday, 7am - 5pm ET onsite.
What Will You Do?
* Mentor and coach department employees while maintaining high standards of conduct and leadership.
* Ensure that your team is trained to for success in current roles and can utilize materials properly and effectively; recommend any professional training employees may need.
* Establish and maintain an effective working relationship will all departments, including Quality for engineering updates and employee training.
* Work in collaboration with Line Leads to make sure all lines are running efficiently and following the Legrand Way.
* Direct the departmental work schedule while utilizing various systems and tools, including championing efforts associated with Legrand Way tools.
* Manages employee staffing levels and adjust as needed when last minute call offs occur or priorities change, escalate as needed.
* Ensure that all output meets Legrand standards of safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, 5S and budgetary (tools, scrap, etc.) goals.
* Reporting requirements within the department and any other requests from management.
* Evaluate candidates and make recommendations for hiring decisions while managing staffing levels.
* Identify performance opportunities and make recommendations for improvement for individuals while ensuring implementation of those improvements.
* Work all shifts and departments and take part in OT rotation as needed.
* Maintain high employee morale.
* Write and deliver performance appraisals and make recommendations for merit increases.
* Cross train to work in other functional departments of the plant.
* Sets the tone for the other supervisors in the value stream with information provided in daily Tier boards/information provided by the Value Stream Manager.
* Mentors more junior supervisors and provides assistance in training as needed.
* Take part in OT rotation.
* Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Required Skills
Education:
* High School Diploma or equivalent.
* Associates Degree preferred.
Experience:
* 3-5 years of manufacturing experience required.
* Previous experience as a Production Coordinator/Team Lead preferred.
* 5+ years of supervisory experience preferred.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
* Ability to run reports, effectively present information and respond to questions.
* Ability to learn Shop-Trak, Syteline and other systems - CloudSuite.
* Ability to use MS Outlook, Word and Excel proficiently.
* Ability to coordinate a team and implement departmental initiatives.
* Able to run a forklift and pallet jacks.
* Ability to read engineering drawings, BOMs and Travelers.
* Working knowledge of quality control systems and inventory flow / control.
* Skilled at multi-tasking, prioritizing and great organizational skills.
* Capability to identify, write, and perform corrective action issues.
* Exposure to Lean Manufacturing Concepts preferred.

Job Title: Shipper-Packer
The Shipper has a critical role within the Process Instruments manufacturing team. This role is responsible for packing all analyzer and spare part orders for Process Instruments and LAND. This role is also expected to process many domestic small parcel shipments. This is a high-volume role that requires significant multitasking and self-prioritization to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of orders to our customers. Monthly revenue targets drive the direction and focus of the manufacturing team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Packing analyzer, spare part, and service orders to ensure product arrives at the customers location undamaged. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs (single person lift) and be able to or learn to operate a forklift and other lifting devices.
Processing domestic small parcel shipments
Ensuring adequate packing materials are on-hand to support monthly shipments.
Assist with picking spares/receiving on an as-needed basis.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 3 years experience
