- Measuring distance from grade stakes, drives stakes, and stretches tight line
- Bolts, nails, aligns, and block up under forms
- Signals operators of construction or asphalt equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade specifications
- Levels earth or asphalt to grade specifications, using picks, shovels and rakes
- Mixes concrete and applies caulking compounds
- Sawing lumber, dismantling forms, removing projections from concrete, and mounting pipe hangers
- Ability to frequently lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, bend, crouch or walk for extended periods of time
- Must be able to climb on and off of equipment
- Employee works on average ten (10) hours per day, five days (and occasionally six days) per week. All work is performed outdoors in Florida heat and rain; and around heavy highway traffic areas.

A Skilled Tradesman is a highly skilled professional specializing in one or more specific trade professions who provides preventive maintenance, general maintenance and repair functions of trucks, trailers and equipment within terminal location. This position works closely with transport drivers and leadership to ensure facilities and equipment are adequately maintained and in proper working order at all times.
Company Interfaces:
- Reports to Transport Manager.
- The position will also interface with all employees within the terminal, as well as customers, vendors and employees from other parts of the company. Specifically, this individual will work closely with outside vendors for any necessary maintenance and repairs within the terminal requiring third party engagement.
- Performing general maintenance on heavy duty trucks and trailers.
- Developing and maintaining preventive maintenance schedules for equipment.
- Maintaining parts inventory for repairs and maintenance.
- Ordering required parts and equipment needed for general maintenance and repair.
- Performing needed welding and fabrication tasks as warranted.
- As other duties as required by Transport Manager.
- General computer skills and PC knowledge.
- Solid, proven mechanical skills.
- High school diploma/GED.
- An Associate's Degree or certification in areas of specialty preferred,
- Skilled trades experience including diesel mechanics, welding and fabricating.
- Stable work history.
- Be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time on concrete floors and outside surfaces.
- Able to work outside in varying weather conditions, varying cold, hot & humid temperatures.
- Manual dexterity; ability to reach; able to bend and move with agility.
