Work will have a focus in the dynamic and ground-breaking practice supporting mining and responsible natural resources development with an emphasis on soil mechanics. Thisis a full-time position located in our Denver, CO office or other Rocky Mountain and Southwest U.S locations .
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
In this position, youwill:
- Perform geotechnical engineering analyses.
- Perform geotechnical report writing.
- Apply practical geotechnical and civil engineering principles to design.
- Support geotechnical field investigation and characterization programs.
- Provide geotechnical support to construction implementation.
- Support client meetings, presentations and work scope development.
Minimum Skills andRequirements:
- M.S. Degree in Geotechnical Engineering; advanced or specialized training may be considered in lieu of M.S. Degree.
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- PE license preferred or passing grades on both the Fundamentals and Principles of Practice of Engineering exams required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Team attitude and the ability to interact well with internal staff, and project teams that will include other consultants, contractors, and clients.
- Capability in slope stability analysis, including limit equilibrium, static liquefaction and seismic deformation.
- Experience with Rocscience suite of geotechnical software.
- Basic usage ability of AutoCAD Civil3D is a strong benefit.
- Experience on construction sites and field explorations preferred.
- Ability to travel to temporary assignments mainly across the western U.S., as necessary.
- This position can be located in Denver, CO, Phoenix, AZ, Tucson, AZ, Elko, NV, Boise, ID, Missoula, MT.
The salary range for this position in Denver, CO is $70,000 - $100,000 annually . Actual compensation will be based upon a variety of factors such as education, related work experience, certificates, skills, and current market conditions. **Your Key Responsibilities**
+ Lead our local civil team
+ Mentor junior staff
+ Support project team in development of civil design documentation, plans, specifications, and reports for project design elements.
+ Prepare documentation required for stormwater permitting through local jurisdictions.
+ Perform quality reviews for documents in various project phases including construction plans, reviewing agency submittal packages, and engineering calculation reports.
+ Assist in preparing engineering calculation reports including but not limited to: stormwater design, potable water design and sanitary sewer design.
+ Attend project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants.
+ Coordinate and keep consistent communication within a multi-discipline team.
+ Assist in the review of shop drawings and submittals, responds to request for information, prepares site observation reports, and performs other construction administration tasks related to the civil design component of the project.
+ Assist in the evaluation and selection of civil systems and materials.
+ Participate in value engineering and basic cost estimating.
+ Perform calculations to analyze and design civil system components using company standard software.
**Your Capabilities and Credentials**
+ Self-starter with diligent work ethic and strong attention to detail
+ Effective communication skills and ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought
+ Ability to visualize three-dimensional concepts and layouts from diagrams or drawings
+ Takes initiative on tasks and in coordinating with other members of the design team

**Education and Experience**
+ Bachelor's degree in civil engineering. Advanced degree desirable.
+ Registration as a Professional Engineer, or ability to obtain registration within 6 months required.

Our Facilities Division seeks a **Senior Civil Engineer** to join our team. Our group specializes in high-performing projects with a focus on the future in Food and Beverage, Federal, and Industrial facility design. Our goal is to deliver excellent projects hand-in-hand with a positive experience for our clients and our communities alike.
+ Determine well-defined methods for collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from the physical work site, surveys, blueprints, GIS data, subsurface utility information, maps, hydrologic analysis, geotechnical data, and other matrices for project development, design, and construction.
+ Perform professional civil engineering work and conduct research and inspections of proposed and existing site conditions, resources, building, infrastructure, and transportation channels to determine conformance with applicable rules, standards, and construction or operating permits.
+ Develop construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates; preparing construction safety and phasing plans, and updating infrastructure layout plans that require coordination with owners, other disciplines, sub-consultants, and clients.
+ Develop or incorporate advanced modeling techniques, concept development, design requirements, and operating strategies to account for the safety and functionality of end-users, transportation vehicles/systems, and incorporate future-ready solutions with civil engineering design standards.
+ Work as an individual or as part of a cross-functional team of engineers, planners, and scientific professionals to execute project work on multiple concurrent projects, assist with laying out installations, establishing reference points/elevations/grades to guide construction, calculating costs and quantities of material/equipment/labor, and ensuring project work conforms with specifications, permit applications, compliance documentation, and regulatory and technical analysis memos.
+ Prepare data and visualizations such as tables, charts, accurate reports, sketches, calculations, and illustrations for the interpretation or presentation of data, findings, or analyses.
+ Maintain quality control standards and procedures for accurate and precise measurements, statistical analysis, and reporting.
+ Assist with development and scoping of medium-sized projects.

**Who You Are**
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or closely related discipline.
+ 5 to 7 years of relevant post education experience in engineering and prior civil design experience.
+ Engineer in Training Certification.
+ Proficient knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues.
+ Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management; including active involvement in a variety of rehabilitation and new design projects.
+ Working knowledge with process and concepts for reducing and eliminating the use or generation of hazardous substances/greenhouse gas.
+ Working knowledge of relevant civil construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.

**About the role**
The Data Center Construction Civil Engineer will be responsible for leading all aspects of projects from site planning to construction. This includes reviewing and representing program directives, providing input on Architect/Engineer (A/E) designs, ensuring compliance with client requirements, and guiding consultants to meet project goals and design standards. The ideal candidate will have expertise in planning/zoning, site design, utility routing/planning, earthwork, permits, and construction phases.
**What you'll do**
+ Apply civil engineering expertise for design-related activities associated with data center sites or projects.
+ Serve as consultant, advisor, and authorized representative for hyperscale data center clients throughout all project phases.
+ Collaborate with client partner groups, design consultants, construction management ?rms, and contractors to implement design and construction contracts on behalf of the client.
+ Provide engineering mentorship and conduct reviews of civil engineering works related to site layout and data center building design.
+ Contribute to developing civil engineering guidelines & design standards.
+ Review submitted designs, provide constructive feedback, and ensure alignment with project objectives.
+ Coordinate scope with multiple team trades (architecture, telecom, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and structural).
+ Express complex ideas in a concise manner through all forms of digital mediums (design drawings, presentations, video conference) both internally and with external parties.
+ Manage all areas of project management for multiple real estate projects. This includes planning, design, construction, occupancy, and closeout.
+ Work directly with clients to prepare all elements of the project. This includes the scope of work, project delivery resource requirements, cost estimates & budget, work plan schedule & landmarks, quality control, and risk identification.
+ Define the project delivery resources from pre-qualified lists or through the project qualification process. Conduct complex requests for proposals, complete bid evaluations, and recommend resources to clients.
+ Facilitate the development of a charter and coordinated timeline.
+ Ensure all functions remain on schedule and issues get resolved or escalated.
+ Facilitate regular meetings to review project status for active and pending projects.
+ Collaborate to develop solutions and guide the project team through implementation and completion.
+ Apply advanced knowledge to seek and develop new, better methods for accomplishing both individual and department objectives.

**What you'll need**
+ Bachelor's Degree preferred with 8-10 years of solid experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
+ A solid understanding of the commercial real estate industry in the areas of financial analysis, project management, construction, ethical practices, business operations, marketing, and business development.
+ Familiarity with water/wastewater design and hydraulic modeling.
+ Knowledge of site layout, grading, drainage, infrastructure, erosion, and sediment control.
+ Ability to solve unique problems using standard and innovative solutions having a broad impact on the business.
+ In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products or Google Suite products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
+ Professional Engineer license is preferred
+ Expert interpersonal skills with an inquisitive mentality.
+ Assist in maintaining product speci?cations, technical documentation, and best practices for M&E systems in brown?eld data centers.

+ Assist with vendor correspondence, scheduling, and tracking of deliverables related to brown?eld M&E product orders and services.

**What you'll need**
+ - Bachelor's Degree preferred with 8-10 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. LEED AP, PMP, or CMM preferred.
+ A foundational understanding in Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) systems, particularly those found in data centers or critical infrastructure (e.g., HVAC, UPS, generators, cooling).
+ Basic understanding of data center operations or critical facilities is helpful.
+ Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information. Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions. In-depth knowledge of
+ Microsoft Office products or Google Suite products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
+ Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mentality.

Who You Are
**Required Qualifications**

+ Experience with test and bore pits and generating geotechnical reports.
+ Project management experience.
+ Effective verbal and written communication skills.
+ Experience dealing with clients and developing new business.
+ Experience leading and developing junior engineering staff.
+ AutoCAD, Lpile, Settle3D, and Slide experience or similar software.
(Disqualifiers)
+ Design-focused role so a geotech with only construction observance experience won't be a fit.
+ No EIT certification.
+ No Bachelor's Degree.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is 38.46 - 57.69/hr.
