NOTE: This position is onsite at our Cincinnati location. You will work a variable schedule - we are a 24/7 operation and would assign schedule based on need initially. Assigned shifts could be a combination of days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Organizational Expectations:
As a law enforcement unit officer, you will observe, study, and assist Federal Reserve Law Enforcement Officers to learn the job skills required to enforce federal laws and Federal Reserve policies and regulations to protect life, property, and assets. You will respond to incidents on Bank property and provide emergency services.
General Responsibilities:
Develop skills necessary to control the admittance and departure of employees, visitors, vehicles, and packages to and from the building.
Screen employees and visitors including vendors and contractors, for weapons or other destructive devices using magnetometer, screening equipment, wands, and x-ray machines as well as manually searching individuals and packages.
Screen vehicles entering the Bank premises, such as parking garages, general delivery, and security courts, or assigned valuables handling areas.
Develop proficiency in areas such as weapons (lethal and non-lethal), first aid, CPR, civil disorders, and public relations, through the completion of the Basic Law Enforcement Course and the Field Training and Evaluation Program.
Develop proficiency in use of personal computer and related software, computerized physical access control systems, video surveillance equipment, x-ray and metal detection equipment, various alarms systems and Automated External Defibrillators.
Demonstrate behaviors supporting a working environment conducive to positive morale, inclusion, quality, innovation, and teamwork.
Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
Adhere to the Bank's attendance policies through regular and prompt attendance.
Education and Experience:
LEU Officer I: High school diploma/GED and no prior years of related work experience
LEU Officer II : High school diploma/GED and 3 years related experience
Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to complete or have completed Federal Reserve System Basic Law Enforcement Course.
Ability to complete, or have completed the Field Training and Evaluation Program (FTEP)

Must wear appropriate uniform and operate all issued equipment as required by LEU policy. May be confined to one area for extended periods of time, requiring sitting or standing and significant visual concentration, may be required to work in extreme climate conditions. Must maintain good physical condition to respond to potentially dangerous situations. May be required, in emergency situations, to forcefully restrain/ pursue individuals including running fast and climbing stairs. Must have composure to effectively respond to life-threatening, adverse, and dangerous situations including but not limited to explosives and violence.
Must be age 21 or older, with physical ability to pass endurance test. Valid Driver's License required.

About the Opportunity
The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond has an immediate opening for a Law Enforcement Officer.
In these highly visible roles, your availability must be flexible to accommodate any shift over a 24-hour period (Day, Evenings, or Overnight). Under direct supervision, you will protect and safeguard Bank operations, property and employees and perform various duties of a Law Enforcement Officer. Qualifications:
Must possess a high school diploma or GED. Prefer some college courses or graduation from an accredited college or university. Prior law enforcement experience preferred.
Working knowledge of Law Enforcement procedures and operations is preferred.
Qualified applicants should be willing to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift.
Knowledge of various automated physical security controls is preferred

About the Role:
The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas is seeking a self-motivated, versatile Federal Reserve Law Enforcement Officer (FRLEO) to provide basic police duties to provide a safe environment through continual assessment and mitigation of physical security risks. The Federal Law Enforcement Officer will assist with the effective deployment of proven law enforcement best practices and physical security system technologies (access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, screening, etc.).
You Will:
- Effectively and consistently screen all personnel, vehicles, packages, parcels and any other item entering the facility through the use of x-ray technology, metal detection equipment, visual inspection and/or other physical system technologies to adhere to minimum security guidelines and established policies and procedures
- Identify and report security breaches, suspicious activities and health, safety and welfare incidents
- Properly identify and verify all individuals requesting access to the Bank’s premises, buildings and secure areas
- Conduct interior and exterior patrols to maintain a high profile and vigilant exposure to suspicious situations or safety hazards
- Investigate all suspicious persons or unusual occurrences on Bank premises
- Respond to medical emergencies and be able to utilize first aid, CPR and AED Maintains professional demeanor in all circumstances
- Have working knowledge of Eleventh District bank wide policies and procedures

You Have:
- Preferably a minimum of 30 hours from an accredited college and a high school diploma or have passed a General Education Development (GED) test. College hours may be waived in lieu of applicable military and/or traditional law enforcement experience or if the applicant is a current FRLEO.
- Minimum age of 21 or older. Valid driver`s license issued by the state of residence and must not be prohibited from being licensed or driving in any U.S. state
- Selected candidate must successfully complete a comprehensive background investigation to ensure the qualifications and standards as defined by the Federal Reserve System (System) and the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas (Bank) are met
- Successfully pass Basic Law Enforcement Course and annual/mandated FRLEO In-Service Training and weapons qualification tests and any specific certifications, re-certifications and or physical fitness/weapons proficiency tests as required of a member on a special assignment team
- Ability to think and act quickly; make timely and appropriate decisions based on limited information
- Excellent oral and interpersonal communications skills
- Write clear, concise, and grammatically correct documents
- Computer skills to operate automated systems; First Aid/CPR skills and AED equipment

Notes:
This position may be filled at various levels based on candidate's qualifications as determined by the department.
- This position requires flexibility with scheduling. Although shift assignments are typically for a one-year term, leadership reserves the right to adjust officer schedules temporarily or semi-permanently to meet business needs. These shifts changes may include day shift, evening shift, or night shift as well as weekend and holiday adjustments. Officers are also subject to callback and overtime on short notice to fulfill operational needs.
- New hires will be required to complete law enforcement training at an out of state Basic Law Enforcement Training Academy. New hires should expect to be out of town for up to five (5) weeks. The BLEC training is seven (7) weeks long, but with the first three (3) weeks being local and onsite.
- Must be examined by a physician selected by the Bank and be certified as physically fit for duty as a FRLEO.
- Physical demands of the position include, but are not limited to: standing, walking, or climbing several flights of stairs regularly; run, climb, crouch, or crawl occasionally; lift 25 to 50 pounds, frequently; and lift 100 pounds or more occasionally.
- Be examined by a licensed psychiatrist or psychologist selected by the Bank and be certified as mentally fit for duty as a FRLEO.
- Show no trace of illegal drug dependency or illegal drug use after a physical examination and NIDA (National Institute on Drug Abuse) approved tests.

- Must not have been convicted of a: felony; class A misdemeanor; class B misdemeanor in the ten years before the date of application to become a FRLEO; or class C misdemeanor involving: violence, theft, deception, drugs, alcohol, public safety or moral turpitude, other than minor traffic offenses, in the five years before the date of application to become a FRLEO; or family violence offense.
- Must not be indicted/awaiting trial or subject to any court order relating to a criminal prosecution.
- Must not be prohibited by state or federal law from possessing firearms or ammunition. The chief will make the final hiring/promoting decision on all applicants.
- For purposes of these procedures, a conviction includes court-ordered community supervision, probation, deferred adjudication, or any plea that requires an acknowledgement of guilt, including nolo contendere.
- This role supports the ongoing operation of the Bank and requires working onsite at the Federal Reserve work location 100% of the time.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Police Officer, under the direction of the Sergeant, is responsible for providing for public safety by maintaining order, responding to emergencies, protecting people and property, enforcing Tribal, Federal and State laws on Tribal Properties and promoting good community relations. This position is also responsible for patrolling and enforcing Great Lakes Treaty Fishing and Inland Treaty Fishing and Hunting regulations and codes throughout the 1836 Treaty Area.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (includes, but is not limited to, the following)
- Patrols specific area on foot or motorized conveyance, responding promptly to calls for assistance.
- Patrols assigned areas by car, boat, or on foot to enforce game, fish, or boating laws or to manage wildlife programs, lakes, or land.
- Records facts to prepare reports that document incidents and activities.
- Photographs or draw diagrams of crime or accident scenes and interview principals and eyewitnesses.
- Monitors, notes, reports, and investigates suspicious persons and situations, safety hazards, and unusual or illegal activity in patrol area.
- Identifies, pursues, serves warrants and legal processes of court and arrests suspects and perpetrators of criminal acts.
- Reviews facts of incidents to determine if criminal act or statute violations were involved.
- Renders aid to accident victims and other persons requiring first aid for physical injuries.
- Investigates hunting accidents and reports of fish and game law violations, and issue warnings or citations and file reports as necessary.
- Investigates traffic accidents and other accidents to determine causes and to determine if a crime has been committed.
- Testifies in court to present evidence or act as witness in traffic and criminal cases.
- Seizes equipment used in fish and game law violations, and arrange for disposition of fish or game illegally taken or possessed.
- Inspects commercial operations relating to fish or wildlife, recreation, or protected areas.
- Aids other local law enforcement agencies as required.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (includes, but is not limited to, the following)
- Participates in various community functions and attends meetings on behalf of department as needed.
- Attends departmental and mandatory trainings to maintain needed certifications.
- All other job-related duties as assigned.

Immediate peers, peers in other departments, immediate supervisor/manager, managers in other departments, Executives, Board of Directors, customers and outside vendors/service providers.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Position medium lifting of 50 pounds maximum and frequent lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds. Physical factors include constant use of hearing, smell, near/midrange/far vision, depth perception, use of color/field of vision and driving, travel within 7 County Service Area; occasional standing, walking, sitting, lifting/pushing/pulling, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, reaching and manual handling. Working condition include constant exposure to weather and extreme cold and occasional exposure to extreme heat, wet/humidity, noise, vibration, air quality and firearm discharge. Potential hazards include constant client contact, computer and equipment use; occasional infectious exposure and exposure to needles/syringes. Personal protection equipment provided by employer includes items such as but not limited to, gloves, gowns, face shields, masks, eye protection, mouth pieces, resuscitation bags, pockets masks, ventilation devices and other equipment as needed. Immunizations including Hepatitis B vaccination series will be offered to team member at no cost.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree in criminal justice field preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 1-year experience working in Law Enforcement, Conservation or related Criminal Justice field preferred.
Certification/License: Must have successfully completed an approved Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) Academy and provide proof of successful completion or provide documentation of successful completion of the Recognition of Prior Training and Experience (RPTE) program. Candidate must be MCOLES certified or certifiable at the time of hire. Must have or be able to obtain Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) Special Law Enforcement Commission (SLEC) Certification. Must be able to qualify with department issued weapons and qualify using the State of Michigan Standards and the Federal Standards as required. Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable by the Sault Tribe Insurance Department. Must comply with annual driver license review and insurability standards with the Sault Tribe Insurance Department. Will be required to undergo and successfully pass a background check. Must maintain a good moral character standing. Will be required to complete and pass pre-employment drug testing.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of or ability to learn constitutional, Federal, State and Tribal laws, rules and regulations required. Knowledge and ability to use word processing and spreadsheet and data base software required. Must have knowledge and ability to safely operate a boat. Must have typing skills. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Must be able to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with supervisory personnel, coworkers, subordinates and the general public. Must be able to work extended hours and varying shifts when needed. Native American preferred.
