Job Description

Under the direction of the Manager, this position provides clients with various investment related guidance, support, and services. Assists with all of the business unit's compliance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures, including but not limited Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, including regulatory and internal compliance policies and procedures related to the investment adviser business activities under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and related securities laws and regulations, Fair Banking, Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act. In addition, this position is responsible for conducting sales and relationship management activities in accord with Bank of Hawaii (BOH) and the firm's guidelines, policies, procedures, disciplines and behaviors.

Responsibilities

  1. Identifies, develops, and maintains investment relationships with clients. Formulates investment solutions and strategies using firm-approved products and services. Delivers recommendations on suitability in a fiduciary capacity based on the client's individual goals and objectives, resources, time horizon, risk profile and preferences. Using required State of Hawaii Insurance and Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Series 7, 66 and/or 65/63 (or CFP in lieu of S65) licenses, solicits and services mutual funds, insurance contracts, and advisory services/managed account portfolio solutions (MAPS). Ensures that appropriate market transactions are executed promptly. Complies with all industry rules and regulations, department policies and procedures, and Bank policies and codes of conduct.
  2. Actively solicits clients via telephone, networking, referrals, etc. Travels independently in the community and market area for client servicing, prospecting and networking. Refers clients to subject matter experts in the organization for advice and potential cross sell opportunities. Leverages support units or alternative delivery channels to match the servicing needs of the client. Utilizes the Blue360 client relationship management system to track referrals and activities in an accurate and timely manner.
  3. Researches and stays abreast of current market trends, product changes, tax and other regulatory changes to ensure appropriate investment strategies are being considered and deployed. Regularly attends scheduled advisor training events and completes all continuing education assignments.
  4. Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned.

This position requires use of a personal computer and other standard office equipment (typewriter, fax, copier, calculator, telephone)

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Education: Bachelor's degree from accredited institution or equivalent work experience. Possesses Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) registration Series 7, Series 63, and Series 65 or 66 licenses and State of Hawaii Department of Insurance Life, Accident and Health license. (Bachelor's degree is required for Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification.)

2. Experience:

Level I: Minimum two years of experience in a brokerage and/or advisory firm to include customer service and sales experience; or equivalent work experience. Avg. historic production level of $200,000 - $00,000. Expert understanding of investment securities and the financial markets. Knowledge of life insurance products, strategies, and financial planning preferred. CFP certification preferred.

Level II: Minimum five years of experience in a brokerage and/or advisory firm to include relationship management and direct sales experience or equivalent work experience. Avg. historic production level of 400,000 - 700,000. Expert understanding of investment securities and financial markets. Extremely knowledgeable of life insurance products, strategies and financial planning. CFP certification preferred.

Level III: Minimum seven years of experience in a brokerage and/or advisory firm to include relationship management and direct sales experience or equivalent work experience. Avg. historic production level of 600,000 - 1,000,000. Expert understanding of investment securities and financial markets. Extremely knowledgeable of life insurance products, strategies and financial planning. CFP certification strongly preferred.

3. Technical Skills: Proficiency with personal computers in a networked environment and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point) or similar software. Knowledge of or ability to use Bank software and systems.

4. Other Job Qualifications: Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. **The Role**
The Director - Public Sector SLED PMO plays an integral role in the company's long-term success by strategically aligning the Project Management, Service Delivery, and Customer Care organizations to provide an exceptional customer experience, effectively manage customer retention, and drive revenue growth for Public Sector State and Local Education customers. Providing thought leadership with frequent interaction with cross-organizational Senior Leadership and Executive Management Teams.
**The Main Responsibilities**

Leadership & Team Development
-Builds and manages a high-performance team tailored to government support strong program execution.
-Hires, retains, and develops top talent, ensuring the right skills align with public sector requirements.
Customer Care & Engagement
-Strengthens relationships with government clients through proactive engagement, meetings, escalations, and executive briefings.
-Develops strategies to enhance customer service factors, retention, growth, and satisfaction.
-Implements process improvement plans based on customer feedback and key performance indicators.
Program Delivery & Operational Excellence
-Leads customer-facing teams in executing the requirements aligned to government contracts.
-Oversees programmatic processes to ensure compliance with contractual obligations, timelines, and government expectations.
-Drives continuous improvement initiatives, refining methods and procedures to align with industry best practices.
-Assists staff to define, meet and exceed overall customer delivery goals, objectives and strategies that will ultimately be measured by customer revenue and retention performance.
-Assists in defining data reporting requirements that measure key internal metrics that directly correlate to customer satisfaction.
-Prepare service improvement plans in response to consumer satisfaction survey results.
-Responsible for customer engagement activities to include but not limited to customer meetings, escalations, executive read-outs and related customer relationship management activities.
Technology, Data & Training Optimization.
-Drives the use of customer service technologies for accurate data collection and reporting.
-Supports training programs focused on compliance, service excellence, and public sector customer care best practices.
**What We Look For in a Candidate**
-Bachelor 's degree or equivalent. Master's degree or greater is preferred.
-10+ years related experience with 5+ years experience at the managerial level.
**Compensation**
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
Location Based Pay Ranges:
$149,084 - $98,779 in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY.
156,539 - 208,718 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI.
163,993 - 218,657 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
