Lead education and development of Accounting Advisory team members through formal training and client engagement opportunities. Prepare and present accounting findings, including drafting technical whitepapers and presentations. Qualifications Minimum of seven years' recent financial audit or accounting advisory experience with a public accounting or advisory firm. Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited institution. CPA license or equivalent required. Extensive experience with accounting standards related to financial instruments, derivatives, hedge accounting, embedded derivatives, and risk management in debt, equity, and commodities. Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS. Willingness and ability to travel. Authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship now or in the future. Your day-to-day may include:
- Leading projects and services in business valuation analysis and industry research
- Meeting or exceeding targeted sales and managed revenue metrics
- Overseeing and performing data- and document-intensive financial analysis and modeling/projections, strategic analysis, economic and statistical analysis, due diligence, valuation analysis, damage calculations and analysis, and industry research
- Writing opinion letters and reports
- Maintaining active communication with clients to manage expectations, ensure satisfaction, make sure deadlines are met, and lead change efforts effectively
- Maintaining active communication with engagement teams regarding interim and final deadlines, percent of completion, etc.
- Mentoring and developing junior staff and actively participating in recruitment activities for your team
- Working at a client site, with your team in the office or remotely. We empower teams to listen first to expectations of clients and teammates; then you and your team can determine when and where to work. No matter when or where, you will have the support you need to thrive.

You have the following technical skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced or Master’s degree preferred.
- A minimum of 13 plus years of related work experience in a similar consulting practice or function servicing clients at a national level.
- Relevant certification such as a CPA, CFA, CVA, ABV, AVA or ASA required. If you do not hold a relevant certification at time of hire, you must be able to earn one within 18 months of starting with Grant Thornton.
- Prior business development and sales experience is required.
- Prior experience in practice and team development is required.
- Prior consulting experience required.
- Optional for industry-focused roles: Extensive experience in the (insert industry name) industry required.
- Matlab experience preferred.
- Highly analytical with expertise in financial analysis and modeling, econometrics, statistics and regression analysis.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to perform quantitative analysis and develop business cases.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel as needed. Expect 20% travel.
The base salary range for this position in the Firm's San Francisco and San Jose offices is between $280,400 and $67,200.
The base salary range for this position in the Firm’s New York, NY office is between $2 3,300 and 438,800.
