As an Instructional Aide, you’ll work closely with classroom teachers to support K–12 students with autism and behavioral needs. You’ll provide one-on-one and small group assistance, helping implement behavior plans and create a positive, structured learning environment where every student can thrive.
Responsibilities
- Behavioral Intervention: Implement individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) for students with autism and emotional/behavioral needs. Use evidence-based strategies including positive reinforcement, de-escalation techniques, and proactive behavior supports to help students regulate emotions and develop coping skills.
- Targeted Support: Provide one-on-one or small group behavioral support, tailoring interventions to each student’s needs. Support students in building self-regulation, social-emotional skills, and classroom engagement.
Classroom Collaboration: Work closely with teachers and behavior specialists to create a structured, supportive learning environment. Support classroom management by reinforcing expectations, modeling positive behavior, and helping students stay on task.
- Progress Monitoring: Track and document behavioral data consistently, including incidents, triggers, responses, and outcomes. Use this data to inform adjustments to BIPs and support team decision-making.
Team Communication: Partner with special education staff, behavior analysts, and families to maintain a unified approach to student support. Share observations and collaborate on strategies to ensure consistency across environments.
- Personal Care: Support students with daily routines such as toileting, feeding, or mobility.
Required Qualifications/Experience
- High School Diploma
- Experience supporting individuals with Special Educational Needs
- Experience providing personal care support
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stay calm and patient in challenging situations

Preferred Qualifications/Experience
- Experience supporting children with autism, complex or severe emotional needs, or in roles such as ABA therapy
- Experience in special education, particularly with moderate to severe behaviors
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Knowledge of behavioral intervention strategies
- Additional training in behavioral techniques
Compensation & Benefits
Pay: $24-28 per hour, paid weekly.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, within hours of 7:30 am - 3:00/4:30 pm (no weekend work).

Position Summary Right At School is seeking a dynamic and multifaceted Educational Support Specialist to play a vital role in fostering student success and overall program excellence. This position supports students by partnering with the curriculum, compliance, and field leadership teams to implement and maintain a quality, compliant, safe, and inclusive learning environment. You will be instrumental in creating a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive while ensuring program adherence to best practices and regulatory guidelines. A Day in the Life of This Role Support multiple facets of the business, including, but not limited to, the following areas of responsibility: Instructional Staff and Team Development: Model and guide instructional staff and program teams to effectively: Implement individualized and small-group instruction, lesson plans, and instructional activities while establishing and implementing best practices to reinforce lessons and help students master concepts. Adapt materials to meet the diverse needs of students and support those with special needs by implementing accommodations and modifications outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or 504 and/or ELL plans. Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their participation and independence by promoting positive behavior and helping develop self-regulation skills. Provide direction and behavioral support to students and educators, implementing behavior management plans and strategies. Implement personal care tasks, as needed and directed, to assist students. Ensure adherence to all relevant company, licensing, and district-specific processes, policies, and expectations. Maintain safety and cleanliness standards within program environments. Apply curriculum, behavioral management strategies, and child development best practices. Monitor and supervise students in various settings to ensure their safety and well-being while implementing inclusion practices and protocols. Collect student progress and behavior data and provide feedback to program and area managers. Collaborate with the Area Manager and Impact Team to identify students with unique needs and stay informed about updated inclusion practices and protocols. CA Specific: Adhere to ELO-P/ASES and Heritage licensing guidelines related to program quality and student support/outcomes. Program Quality and Continuous Improvement: Support a high-quality, compliant, safe, and inclusive learning environment by: Supporting the implementation of quality assurance and safety protocols across programs. Conducting regular safety and program quality assessments of all program activities. Reviewing and updating safety procedures, emergency plans, and protocols regularly. Coordinating with program managers to identify areas for improvement in program quality and safety, and supporting the creation and implementation of improvement plans. Actively collaborating with the Impact Team to create and implement actionable plans for field operations effectiveness. Working closely with the Area Manager to implement district-specific goals and initiatives. CA Specific: Reviewing results of program quality assessments (PQA) with the Area Manager and supporting the implementation of improvement strategies. Other duties as assigned. Position Requirements A Bachelor's degree in education, child development, social work, or a related field is preferred, though equivalent experience may be considered. Three (3) or more years of proven experience in youth development, after-school programming, or a related field. Familiarity with conducting assessments, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions. Strong understanding of program implementation, quality assurance, and best practices in youth education. Knowledge of safety protocols, licensing regulations, and educational standards, with specific familiarity with California's ELOP/ASES guidelines and Heritage licensing requirements being highly desirable for CA-based roles. Demonstrated ability to model, mentor, and train staff effectively. Familiarity with behavior management techniques and child development principles. Experience supporting inclusive environments for students with diverse needs Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Reporting directly to the Vice Chancellor for Health, Well-being, and Safety (HWS), the Executive Director for Student Advocacy and Support will provide strategic leadership for the HWS organization. This role holds responsibility for overseeing the financial operations and human resource management of key units within the Health, Well-being & Safety organization, including the Student Disability Resource Center (SDRC), Basic Needs, and Campus Advocacy, Resources, and Education (CARE). In addition to these operational duties, the Executive Director will advocate for and advance the strategic vision of HWS, fostering collaboration within the organization, across the campus, and with external community partners. The role will contribute to the integration of well-being, advocacy, retention, and success strategies throughout the student experience, ensuring these elements are embedded in all aspects of student support services. As a key leader, the Executive Director will serve as a trusted strategic partner, guiding the development and execution of HWS's operational and growth strategies. The individual in this role will focus on driving operational efficiencies, enhancing processes, and ensuring team alignment with the HWS Collective Impact Model. The Executive Director will be a dynamic and empowering leader, advocating for the division's strategic goals while cultivating strong relationships and securing support for HWS initiatives both within the organization, across the campus, and external community. The ideal candidate will possess a collaborative, solution-oriented leadership style, characterized by a commitment to ethical practices, diversity, and inclusion. The Executive Director should demonstrate the ability to inspire teams, mentor emerging leaders, and drive innovative solutions that enhance the impact and effectiveness of student advocacy and support services. A positive attitude, high energy, and a commitment to integrity, openness, and kindness will be essential to success in this role.
The full salary range for the Executive Director for Student Support & Advocacy is $123,000 - $41,400 annually. However, the expected pay rate for this position is up to 211,800 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.
