**Job Summary and Qualifications**
**Patient Care Technician:**
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) delivers high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living. Under the supervision of the registered nurse (RN), the PCT assists the nursing staff in providing patient care in accordance with the PCT's skills/training and the needs of the Department, and consistently assists the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment. The PCT complies with all hospital policies/procedures and observes the State Board of Nursing rules for unlicensed personnel.
**What you will do in this role:**
+ Participates in the implementation of nursing care plans by performing direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of the licensed nurse.
+ Obtains and records initial and ongoing patient information throughout the cycle of care, including admissions data, vital signs, height and weight, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, intake and output, calorie counts, and other patient information as outlined by policy.
+ Assists with mobility by regular turning and positioning, dangling, and ambulating patients. Assists with use of walkers, crutches, canes, and wheelchairs. Transfers patients to and from other units, departments, or entities. Assists with discharges. Demonstrates proper body mechanics.

The National WWII Museum is currently seeking a Student Programs Specialist. Working within The National WWII Museum's Education Department and reporting to the Assistant Director of Student Programs, the Student Programs Specialist is responsible for the facilitation and planning of the Teaching and Learning's inbound and outbound student travel programs, such as Normandy Academy and Student Leadership Academy. This position will coordinate national school outreach for traveling artifacts. The Student Programs Specialist works closely and collaboratively with all members of the Student Programs team and the wider Education Department to create programs, activities and experiences that connect World War II to today.

Requirements

  • Lead the planning and delivery of the Museum's inbound and outbound student travel programs. Including but not limited to Normandy Academy, Student Leadership Academy and future student travel programs.
  • Coordinate booking and logistics for traveling artifact trunks to schools nationally.
  • Deliver in-school outreach programs across the state and region.
  • Assist Field Trip team with onsite facilitation on days with large student group attendance.
  • Develop and executes other student programs as assigned.
  • Able to travel nationally and internationally for student programs.
  • Able to work overtime during special events or heavy visitation periods or to meet deadlines.

  • Have a good understanding of the current trends, climate, and teaching practices in classrooms today, including social emotional learning.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. Excellent communication skills, particularly with K-12 students. Strong customer service skills, with demonstrated comfort and ability interacting with the public.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

This position requires a professional who understands elementary and middle school career exploration, high school-to-postsecondary career, trade, and military pathways, in-demand and high-wage industry pipeline development, and resources that are necessary to better empower students with their options.

This work will be done in collaboration with local school divisions, workforce, industry, and CTE professionals, and other Virginia agency partners. The position workflow will include the compilation of educational and student pathways and outcomes, the ongoing evaluation of data, understanding the trajectory of learning within these postsecondary programs and other strategic initiatives as directed, and awareness of state and federal resources to support these efforts.

This position will support the Deputy Superintendent overseeing the Division of Innovation, Student Pathways, & Opportunities under the Chief of Academics & Innovation. Specifics include:

  • Student Pathways: Support the Department's work in transforming and accelerating access to trade, career and military pathways. Design and collect effective strategies to connect schools to opportunities in high value CTE, as well as workforce awareness and readiness communities. This role will work in close partnership with the Executive Director of the Office of Advanced Learning.
  • Expand Access to Work-based Learning Opportunities: Collaborate with schools, industry partners, workforce board and agencies such as Virginia Works, and other relevant agencies and partners to increase access to high-quality work-based learning, including youth apprenticeships, internships, job shadowing, and other high-demand work-based learning experiences for students in middle and high school as well as career exposure activities for elementary students.
  • Strategic Alignment of Funding Streams: Support the Deputy Superintendent where needed on K-12 priorities alignment for federal and regional grant monies with partner agencies and the Workforce Board, including but not limited to Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act and GO Virginia funding. Collaborate with the Office of School Finance and Budget to maximize support for Career and Technical Student Organizations to ensure students develop skills, knowledge, and leadership experience related to their chosen career fields.
  • Credentialing and Career Readiness Alignment: Ensure credentialing and career alignment, overseeing the integration of high-demand industry-recognized credentials into secondary education programs, ensuring alignment with workforce demands and postsecondary career opportunities. Support Deputy Superintendent as liaison, where needed, with VOEE to ensure continuous review and alignment of Virginia's high-demand industry list and workforce talent needs.
  • Cross-Sector Collaboration and Partnership Development: Assist the Deputy Superintendent to build and maintain strategic partnerships with business leaders, military recruiters, training providers, and postsecondary institutions as well as partner agencies to enhance student access to multiple high-demand career pathways. Engage as directed with critical workforce readiness partners and agencies at the State and Regional Levels and aligned offices across the Department.
  • Data-Driven Program Monitoring: Continuously use data and stakeholder feedback to monitor outcomes, inform continuous improvement, supports, and resources, and support policy development aimed at expanding high-quality career-connected and military-connected learning opportunities for all students.
  • Project Management of the State Perkins Plan: Serve as project lead to support Deputy Superintendent on the state's Perkins Plan in partnership with other Department offices, agencies, and secretariats as well as business and industry community partners and school divisions.
  • 3E Readiness Support: Support, raise awareness of, and identify evidence-based best practices and program design support for 3E Readiness activities that ready students for postsecondary Employment and Enlistment in partnership with the Executive Directors of the Office of School Performance and the Office of Excellence and Best Practices. Advise on and implement the use of career and postsecondary readiness resources to accelerate efforts for students, schools and the Department.
  • Oversee Military Pathways and JROTC Program Opportunities: Assist Deputy Superintendent with strategic direction to the team responsible for military pathways for students, including JROTC, military readiness initiatives, and partnerships with military branches. Ensure alignment with Board of Education readiness goals and support for students pursuing military careers and service opportunities. Engage in regular communication with the Agency's Military Family and Student Specialist who oversees Military-Connected programming and partnerships.
  • Manage EISTC and Neighborhood Assistance Program Coordination: Oversee implementation and coordination of the Education Improvement Scholarships Tax Credits (EISTC) and Virginia's Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) teams, ensuring these programs expand access to high-quality educational opportunities, especially for underserved students, through partnerships with eligible schools and nonprofit organizations.
  • Coordinate with the Offices of Advanced Learning, Innovation, and Behavioral Health teams to support the larger priorities, initiatives, and strategic work of the Division of Innovation, Student Pathways, and Opportunities.

Job Overview

The Multicultural Student Programs Coordinator is responsible for leading programmatic and administrative tasks for the Office of Graduate Student Life. The Multicultural Student Programs Coordinator is a part time position (25 hours/week for 12 months - summer hours can be flexible) and reports to the Director of Graduate Student Life. This position pays $24-$26/hr.

Duties and Reponsibilities
  1. Assist with the planning and implementation of international graduate student orientation and graduate student orientation sessions in August.
  2. Provide support for graduate students of color and plan programs in cooperation with the Grad School academic programs, the Chaplin's Office and Graduate Student Council.
  3. Plan programming that will unite domestic and international students representing Asian, Hispanic, and African diasporas.
  4. Supervise the Students of Color Office Assistant.
  5. Help to plan the itinerary and travel details of the Civil Rights Trip and market the trip and recruit students.
  6. Oversee the Technical Reader Program for Ph.D. students; manage Technical Reading Submissions from students and coordinator forms and communication between students, technical readers and Buswell library.
  7. Manage Dine with a Mind program.
  8. Serve as maintenance DSO (Designated Student Official) and assist with general immigration processes. A DSO must be a US citizen or a lawful permanent resident of the U.S.
  9. Help to provide welcome and hospitality at the Graduate School and maintain the Second Floor Lounge.

This position reports to the Assistant Director of New Student Programs and will work closely with the Associate Director of New Student Programs and New Student Programs team to plan, develop and execute events for prospective and newly admitted students. This position will coordinate with the Admissions Recruitment team to support the operations for the University Welcome Center. The coordinator will contribute to a campus environment that acknowledges, encourages, and celebrates differences. In accordance with the AAUP collective bargaining agreement this position is open only to current PSU AAUP academic professionals. Article 17 Section 11 refers: Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree; At least one year of full-time experience working in admissions, new student programs or a closely aligned area in higher education; 1+ years of supervision experience Demonstrated ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions; Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities in an organized fashion; Demonstrated effectiveness in working with diverse constituents; Demonstrated computer skills including proficiency using Google applications; Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, high volume office; Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work in a team-oriented setting; Strong leadership skills to manage a diverse student team; Excellent communication skills with ability to discuss difficult situations in a calm and professional manner; and Excellent oral and written communication skills. Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement Salary is dependent on several factors, and new employees will typically start around the Q1 level to allow for later growth within the salary band. PSU has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity. The starting annual salary for this position will be $56,880 but may be negotiated above this rate dependent upon the factors above, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR. This position is a full-time position with some evening and weekend responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Employment duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Serve as a champion for vibrancy and tradition at Stetson University through strong student advising and campus programming model grounded in theory
  • Advise Stetson's student programming group, Hatter Productions programming team which is responsible for all large-scale university-wide programming for Stetson
  • Advise and coordinate the Homecoming Committee, encouraging creative ideas for programs and events during Homecoming Week that foster community, belonging, and tradition
  • Manage key Homecoming traditions, including program management, Homecoming Court, and the infusion of Stetson's history into marketing and events
  • Work in partnership with Alumni Engagement and Event Services on Homecoming initiatives aimed at both students and alumni
  • Encourage and shift the culture to capitalize on weekend programming, to offer activities and engagement opportunities to students throughout the entirety of the week
  • Create and implement additional department programming initiatives ranging from small-scale to large-scale events to offer students experiences that foster relationships and connection
  • Build strong relationships with student leaders in efforts to empower department student programs to play an active role in the growth and enhancement of our community, fostering connection and belonging
  • Support Student Media initiatives through advising of Hatter Network, which includes The Reporter (Stetson's news magazine), Touchstone (literary arts journal), and W-HAT Radio
  • Assist with the development and implementation of SDCV department led initiatives, including, but not limited to large scale programming, assisting with orientation sessions, and fostering collaborative opportunities with campus partners
  • Serve as a liaison for Athletics to strategize and to help advise events, games, and tournaments to encourage student attendance and spirit at Hatter athletic events
  • Work with the Homecoming committee, Hatter Productions, and Hatter Network to prepare and present their full budget requests to the SGA Finance committee annually
  • Supervise a Graduate Assistant and student employees that support the area, assigning and tracking responsibilities and duties
  • Perform other duties and serve on department, division, and university committees as assigned
